i have seen this gun up close and personal but do not own it. I met KWA & CA enthusists that love the SOB (swordfish) 2. First, this is an all metal body (not common in echo 1's). It is HEAVY. for hardcore players, you will like this feature. It doesn't feel like a toy. One of the shop tech's who got this gun described as "it looks and feels like its carved from a piece of iron". I call it a work horse after watching it in action. Put a suppressor, laser scope and led light on it too.

If you can get past the concept of these guns not having a true real-steal counterpart, these guns are pretty neat. I can see myself using the SOB-II (which in my opinion, if you HAD to choose one, I like the looks better with the SOB II). I've always enjoyed compact AEG's that can double as a great secondary (stock folded/removed for a sniper backup), or a decked-out primary CQB gun. Echo-1, while still no G&G, is still leagues better than what they used to be.

Actually, the straight magazine was first used in the MP10 10mm model of the MP5, and in certain older variants. Straight mag MP5s are by no means new.

It's a really interesting design, really. But something about this video...kinda reeks. For one thing, it's almost like there was hidden guys ready to beat the poor fellow for saying "MP5" instead of "this er, design of gun."

Now, I'm not sure why you'd stick a torque-up motor in a gun with what looks like to be a...4 to 5 inch barrel? Clearly it's a bullet-hose. Perhaps there's more sense to this than I realize though? I do like Echo 1.
