I do the outline first, if it looks good then I colour it in :) If not I try and fix it.

I wanted to draw a picture, but I always disliked how pencil drawings always come out light, and smudge/fade... so I was trying to think of a way to do pictures black and white so i could use permanent markers, and this is what i came up with. Thanks for watching :)

This is a friend of mine and I know for a fact that she did not trace it. She drew it in pencil first and then recorded the vid going over it in pen/marker.

Outline is done in pencil first, which you can maybe see and then gone over in permanent marker. The only tracing done is of my own FREEHAND outline. thanks for watching.

Thanks! It generally takes me a couple hours to draw an outline (in pencil) then about an hour to colour it, depending upon the picture.

You have such an awesome comic book style, I've been trying so hard to learn to draw with all those shadows it's so hard. You're really talented.

Thanks a lot :) I must admit I do cheat a little bit. I use Photoshop to cut out the colour so it's easier to pick out shadows. I haven't learned to sketch it out quickly, it still takes several outlines to get the outline to my liking :)

It's a combination of things... I copy the original pic to a new one, and then duplicate the layer a couple of times. I keep one layer as the original cutout, then the next layer I'll desaturate it and play with the white and black balance (CTRL + L in PS7). And I'll duplicate the B+W layer, and then use the Brightness/Contrast (usually just the contrast portion) and it helps eliminate unnecessary details.
