i cant pick a favorite, In Rainbows is so diverse, whereas The Bends is my most played, and ok computer is their most influential. i just love this band...
Radiohead: 7 albums different from each other, over 100 songs, intuition, creativity...they have written their names on the wall of music world and i'm surely that among fifty years a child will approach the counter of cd shop and ask Ok computer...
Thanks Radiohead for each of your songs and performances...
I didn't get to watch the grammy's the night of, so i recorded it. I absolutely LOVED this performance. I watched it over and over. When I downloaded it from itunes, I was actually a bit disappointed that the original wasn't done with a marching band. Either way, great song. They blew my mind.
i have a question for all Does anybody know of a person or a group of people that want to build a huge sport website and brand that i think is going to be the Facebook/Youtube of sports im in nj
Disappointing they didnt win the big prizes like album of the year but what do you expect from old fashioned stuffy grammys? they live in a time warp! Not that i dont like led zepplin but can anyone say that krauss album is better than ir? great perfomance though i wish they had done that on tour.
rofl deltra23, all sorts of dumb coincidences- i could spend all day pointing out bob dylan songs that lift chords DIRECTLY i mean VERBATIM straight from old folk songs. Radiohead did things with music that won't be done again, probably even by them. Study the chord changes on any of their albums from 1996-2002 and you'll be surprised how innovative they really are.
saying that radiohead plagiarizes might be one of the most ignorant statements i've ever heard. they're one of the most influential and creative bands in the history of music. seeing as they never play creep at any of their concerts goes to show that there is so much more to radiohead than one song that you think sounds like another.
I think Radiohead was a huge influence for Coldplay, which her husband Chris Martin is the lead singer for. Did you notice her wink at him in the first row to him Watch it close ! That was pretty cool !
Band like Oasis , Radiohead etc should not be on these shows But I think it's way too much exposure for them so they have to.. Dave Grohl playing drums for mcCartney at the Grammy's That says it all !
I really want to see their acceptance speech for their win for best alternative --- no one has uploaded it yet, and i can't find it anywhere else either. Please upload it if you are able!
Yea it seems like Rap/Hiphop have taken over the grammys or any music award show for that matter (i still like rap/hophop), but they should have more of a vareity in music generes... Radiohead was my fave performance :)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
if you think anything on that show was alternative I'll bet you enjoy the selection at Costco as well. Let me interpret what you just said. You want a black peoples grammys/ an old people's grammys/ and a children's grammys. I say that garbage all belongs in the garbage dump.
Radiohead's performance was terrible. I am embarrassed for them.
Not that the fact that you're entitled to your opinion needs to be said, but I"ll say it anyway just for the hell of it: you're entitled to your highly mistaken opinion regarding this great performance, which reveals both your poor taste and insufficient understanding of how television performances ALWAYS sound. Mix a 20-piece marching band sometime and send that shit to people's homes via electronic waves. See how that works out for you.
You know what? The marching band was a stupid gimmick and I think I can say, as someone who has seen Radiohead live three times, that the full band kicks ass and is integral to their sound.
Radiohead was my first rock show. As a teen I saved my money to see them on the OK computer tour. I love this band but I hated that performance and I hate the way people are so uncritical of things that the media deems "genius'". You can like something AND be critical of it.
I thought the marching band was awesome and perfect for the song choice. It gave it more energy. It was absolutely PERFECT for 15 Step. I don't think it was stupid at all. I loved the performance.
I agree and disagree, I think it would have been much better with all of radiohead but the marching band was pretty cool and a nice change from the norm
Though I agree with what you have to say about having different grammys I do disagree with you saying radiohead's performance was bad. imo it was one of the best of the night and the whole thing with the marching band was neat.
I was being IRONIC when I commented on (did not say) what was said about the grammys. I think you're all racist, fascist zombies that will buy what their told.
your embarressed for radiohead?? what for?? being the greatest band on the planet?? i'm sure they will get over the "embarressment" while you write bullshit ridiculous comments wanker!! Radiohead FOREVER
My music teacher's friend is the leader of the marching band at USC and Thom Yorke wanted to do an arrangement of the song with the marching band but he wrote their voicing really badly apparently(he's a great musician but doesn't know how to arrange music for a marching band lol) so the director had to completely rewrite it on Friday, 2 days before the performance!! :S
except that the score they played is identical to what radiohead plays. Go listen to 15 step, and then tell me that the drumline (+brass) is 'completely rewritten' in the USC version.
It was awe some i wish the Tubas were more audible at the climax - but otherwise WOW - can ne1 explain to me why Radioheads song was @ Twilight the movie end credits???
It was the best thing i've ever seen on tv. That performance was really provoking my emotions, with Radiohead being one of my personal greatest influences. The concept was brilliant and the performance was unreal. I wish Ed, Colin, and Phil could've taken some part in it.
