They are actually quite different...the Flex does a lot but it is all in a similar arena. It is smooth,bold and fat. The Animal is mean and plexi...ish. The Animal has just a little more gain on tap. The 10 ton hammer has more gain but stays amp like...very JCM800

I'm thinking between this and the animal. In this vid, flex can get quite close to the animal when you mentioned JTM45 sound. I'm convinced the versatility of the pedal. However, which one has more gain?

This pedal can get just about any tones including Jimmy Page but if you are looking for old school plexi the Animal is what you want. The Flex does the JTM 45 type thing best

For my use, this would only be suitable for Van Halen tones.

I really want an overdrive pedal that will give me Jimmy Page tones.
