If this song sounded any different, it would still be dubstep, and all dubstep doesnt sound the same. But if you change the way it sounds entirely, it might not be dubstep anymore. Some songs sound better than others, and some are complete crap. Some are happy and others are dark. Every genre has its good example and bad, this one is good.

@subvandals its a bit of square bass, yeh obvs sine sub as u said, sounds like maybe annother square/triangle on top an octave up but detuned slightly to make it edgy. bit of reverb and compression and there u go. basses are normally simpler to recreate than u think, just mess around with whatever you use, using a simple synth with 2 or 3 oscillators.
