  • this sonata is much more difficult for the piano than the violin...

  • @kmgl100 i agree; i'm learning the piano part right now and it is difficult.

  • Is that a statue behind pianist?

  • @gkc25 lol

  • So this is where Mendelssohn took his melody for his violin concerto. :P

  • @Sakio442 What, the first movement of the Mendelssohn? Specifically from which part of the Mozart?

  • Nice rendition!

  • parabens

  • @fernandullo, i believe it to be in the sense that she is his violinist as he is her pianist.

  • this is great, i don't see how you could have any dislikes on this at all

  • nice played :-)

  • O.o Wow, the guy at the back is so still yet COOL.... Hehehe

  • beautiful music!

  • No practice while playing. Bow is not a magic wand or a sword. Why her violin sounds like wet viola...

  • @SeanMinn whats that supposed to mean?

  • veryyy good!!!!!!!!!!! =)

  • the best i heard!!! wonderful!!

  • i am playing this for my net recitle. it is an amazing song. thank you

  • this anniversary of Einstein' s death.. ocurred on 1955. He died of great physical reasons, aneurism, BUT in his own terms: he wanted to n was ready to..... and this beautiful Mozart' s piece was the one he loved best. His violin breathed this, even when Paul E did it in Ulm... Mozart /Einstein.. great great minds combustion would take place on this Earth if we could reunite them in the same room: the infinite megatonic non destroying Music Wave! thanks for this interpretation

  • hermoso

  • I love it! I am playing it now

this sonata its lovely and amazing

youre great too, you've helped me a lot

    thnx

  • u totally ruined the bowing. the bowing is wrong. otherwise, it was sorta kinda good.

  • good :)

  • Great ! I am just learning this song, I would like to play it like you :)

  • Nice job!BTW,to everyonbe judging the performance of the violinist by her facial expression, just close your eyes, and you'll hear that she's doing a very good job.Mozart didnt think much of performers who "Grimaced" while they played,so think of that the next time you judge a persons playing by their facial expressions---its the sound that counts in music,at least in a performance. What you do visually should not distract from the music,at least not in art music---just my opinion!.

  • one of my favorite violin pieces, well to execute this piece greatly, this one needs agressive manner and a deep expession...this song is with a feeling like in agony...I think the violinist did her part but still expression is the key..the vibrato is good and I like the phrasing..

  • absolutely love the phrasing, though there could be a bit more aggresion when you double-stop. none the less, an excellent job :)

  • I like ist :)

  • ¡¡¡Chido!!!

  • well done!!!!!!keep walking!!!!!

  • the piece is absolutely fantastic the problem is the performer. the violinist & pianist are professional musicians. the pianist is good but the violinist didn't play it with passion!

  • "your" violinist?

  • Comment removed

  • @FERNANDULLO

what do u mean by "your" violinist?

  • @FERNANDULLO lol im sure it was a wording error

  • @JAPANTUNER100 Foi um erro de redação.

  • cool

  • Very good performance...the fiddle is good (one or two dodgy intonation bits, but nothing serious) , but the pianist is exceptional...he holds back and accompanies without dominating. Also there are many moments when they capture the mood correctly. Not a mature performance yet, butfor me it's all there.

  • stop trying to sound so professional. dodgy intonation!? this isnt RCM u know? just complement BOTH.

  • Yeah, wow. I'd love to hear your performance!

  • the violinist is good. I dunno about the pianist, sorry.

  • really good work!! i enjoyed the whole thing

  • I believe this is one of the best Violin Piano Sonata composed by Mozart.

    I really love this.

And the performance is good enough to be watched all over the world.

I really appreciate your Upload and hope your success.

  • its the only one in a minor key that he composed ... how cool is that lol. im such a sucker for knowing that teehee

  • The music is great, as expected. But your violinist's dress isn't very flattering.

  • da gurl looks like carmen lopez

  • I'm studying the violin part of this sonata; for me you have played it very well.

  • you played this on my b-day. *smile*

    you're VERY GOOD. post more!

  • i would like to have the violin score pls....can anyone help me with this? give any websites....

  • can soomeone tell me CAN i download the sheet music of this sonata for free anywhere on the net ?............ or NOT ......

  • i 've done this sonata last year and is wonderful...but you are too cold...and the allegro for me is so slow..good job:)

  • Teehee she pulls some awkward facial expressions!! Guess that comes with zoning into the music so much!

  • Grr... I have to play this for my violin exam in...12 days T_T

  • nice sound!

  • that was pretty heartfelt!

  • Wow I have to play this in like a week... even though my partner sounds a ton better than I do

  • Technically it was very good. But I think the passion was perhaps a little lacking. I think you two could have played with a little more gusto. Perhaps if you had more dramatically shaped phrases and a greater contrast between forte and piano.

Still though, very good, very nice to listen to!

  • Lol, My name is alicia too and i play violin. :) Very well played also.

  • lol, me too

  • Beethoven is better

  • We don't care, if the piece is good, it's ok

  • Beethoven is blunter, but no less great than Mozart - personal preference.

  • Nice!

  • Great + Awesome + Terrific + Perfect + Amazing + Fantastic + Wonderful = 5 Stars :)

This is for me, the best of Mozart!

    I "love" it!!!

  • Yeah I play Swan Lake on my other channel, FlemingsGuitar.

    -Alec

  • I am playing this too!

Thanks for making this video, that helps me a little.

  • Terrible. Everything is so superficial.

  • ...care to elaborate? That's pretty vague.

  • I played this for my grade 7 violin exam back in November =) lovely piece

  • that's was nice...i'm learning this sonata..but where is the "tempo di menuetto" part? that's more interesting!!

  • beautifull .

I cant stand these people that post these hyper-critical comments ripping apart someones playing . All of you should be ashamed of youself !

Both of these musicians are wonderfull . Great interpretation . Great feeling !

  • I'm taking this song as an exam, I'm following her song! LOL

  • I a rock guitarist and pianist and I just love classical music. You may think that odd but really the roots of music and feeling in music come out of classical music. Nice playing on the violin!!! I'm going to start the violin soon / some day. LOL.

    -Alec

  • Basarr : Go playing with little round things called - billes- in French

  • what a nice Mozart :)it feels like... hmm like a spring :)

  • ı am sorry but if this is mozart or way of playing mozart...ı dont know anything about music

  • This is Mozart.

  • Wonderful interpretation. I do agree with MasterK1ller123 who said that the sound quality could have been better (room change?). Though the violinist sometimes has some notes 'off' or should have been louder (e.g. s18-s19), your piano is excellent, and so you make an excellent and 'human' performance. Many excellent performers forget to actually let some feeling out so it's good you did not have such a cold performance. Thanks for uploading.

  • That's interesting how you mention "human" and "cold." This was a huge stylistic debate for us since this particular sonata does have a "cold" baroque aspect yet it's still very merry. Thanks for the comment!

  • she is very good!

  • that violinist is amazing

  • No, she is not!

She should look to the piano, so they could have a real chance to play together. She is struggling with her lines and uses too much power on her bow, the pianoplayer seems to be prepared much better.

  • bueno q les puedo decir, parece q fuera barroco porque lo q vi fue una demostracion de tecnica, solo q tienen q practicar mas el sentimiento y estaren bien, a si me pudieran dar el correo de la joven del violin, gracias

  • what a nice duet!!!!!!!!!

  • This is sooo good! Really!! I am a pianist N I can say that U R a REAL pianist who play mUsIcaLLy! I dont know well violin, but it sounds rily good, Ur violinist seems very good!

  • perfect

  • YOUR violinist?

  • Translation: Above all else, expression - it's a little bit out of style. In these works little rubato is used, little pedal, and sometimes less vibrato from the violin. In general it needs to be a fresh, clean, crystalline sound. It's like playing soccer on a glass field, very cautious of all these elements. But anyway, it's a very interesting work, from which you guys can squeeze more music out! It would be interesting to chat on the matter. Greetings from Mexico Argentina!

  • Hola, como están? espero que puedan traducir luego lo que voy a escribir, tecnicamente está bien, pero le falta algunas cosas para que suene "mozart".

  • worst room for a concert so far :P, or the microphone is just a piece of shit. But very nice vibrato, and the intonation isn't bad at all. But the sound quality of the video ruins it.

  • talented!

  • The piano part is acceptable, but the violin needs to be less intense. Do not play every single note that clearly on the violin.

  • Don't play Mozart like that, guys:)

  • Nice, but there is a version with Nap de Klijn on youtube who plays this piece with a much lighter touch.

  • I enjoyed this. It's a nice piece and shows Mozart's inventiveness. He included some clever interplay that these musicians haven't discovered but they did play well. It's not easy! I love videos like this. Please keep doing more of them!

  • HELP ME "Serbian Stateterror in Kosova" search in youtube listen song in this video tell me whose this piano sonata send me a mail pisijoe on youtube

  • gotta losen up buddy,

no need to play Mozart like that :)

  • I like this Mozart Violin Piano Sonata for some odd reason

  • Nice duet! I wish I could play the piano part of this piece! I will try to play it for sure, but I need a violinist to play with me...

  • attempted this piece. well, its not bad, but not fantastic. i have to comment the violinist's virbrato is rather good.

  • I really like both performances. Good job, guys! Excellent, keep going. Vive la musique!

  • aweful

  • Bravoo, good performance. :)

i will play it in my exam tomorrow..

  • Boring , boring - needs much work

  • Is this CIM?

  • you are both very good, keep it up :-)

  • heart it...it was beautiful (: <3gracii

  • i love it!!!!

  • that sounds beautiful....the violinist has a fantastic tone.

  • I really love your performance:D Bravo!!!

    Are you a student???

I can't wait for your new video:)

Please please please come to JAPAN!

I want to go to your concert.

  • fantastic tecnic advance

  • Wowed me,I loved it,I wish I could play this well!!

  • that was BEAUTIFUL!!! ^_^

    but dang i was wondering if the page-turner was a statue...i dont think i've ever seen anyone sit so still hehe sorry! ^_^;

  • Haha, yeah - Oliver is like that - EVEN when he plays piano!

  • Kaynobi your such a huge looser for coming here and writing that. You must be really thick im asuming, or just a dumb 10 year old. Why ruin youtube with comments like this? Try and learn something. It wont harm you to be a bit more clever.

  • it so i don't know but ilike to hesr this kin dof music it sso relaxign and i'm not versed well enough in the arts of music os i can't even begin to tell you how great it was but im trying to learn the piano and mabey i'll be able to play like you some day i hope anyway you and Alicia were awsome

  • Great! enjoyed it ..Thanks!

  • Both of you are so talented. It is a pleasure to listen to your music. A couple of side points, though. How is it that 22,000 people have viewed this video, yet there are only 40 comments? Also, I could not figure out how old you are. I think you are a teenager, but how can somebody so young play that well?

  • Haha, well thanks. I'm 18. Alicia is a year younger.

  • Can you please do me and thousands of other people a favor? Can you and Alicia record as many pieces as you can by Mozart that is possible with just your piano playing and Alicia's violin playing? It is just such a pure, uplifting pleasure listening to both of you, that I want to hear much more of it. And if you live in Los Angeles, I would love to come here you play in person.

  • very beautiful, wish i could play the violin... or the piano, both of you are highly talented!

  • hey zhangensprachen, why is that man siting next to you? i am sorry for this question okay.

  • Haha, don't be sorry! He's sitting there so he can turn pages for me. You'll see he occasionally gets up.

  • You two are great!:D

  • Beautiful playing, both you and your violinist.

:P Do you normally chew gum whilst playing?

  • Haha, why does everyone think I'm chewing gum?? Yes, I do move my mouth when I play but no, I have never chewed gum while playing, haha.

  • xD It really looks like it, though~

  • beautiful! I'm playing this sonata, too. that is Mozart like it should be played! Don't change a thing!

  • I llike how he's chewing gum and playing the piano lol

  • very nice! i would like to play the violin like that!!! how long did it take you to learn the basic structures/songs???

  • LOVE IT.beautiful.10 stars.

  • Beautifully played. I don't think the playing is too romantic. You should go with how you feel the piece should be played as long as avoid extremes and don't impose on the music.

  • That was as beautifully played as the second movement. I am really impressed with your piano playing. How long have you been playing? It makes me want to record some of my piano playing =D.

  • Thank you! This would be my tenth you. Please do record yourself!

  • I'll think about it. Nine for me, dang it =(!

  • Brillante interpretacion

La escuche por primera vez de los maestros albert grumiaux y walter klien y ustedes la interpretan maravillosamente, sin duda son los musicos mas talentosos de nuestro presente

  • hey zhangensprachen,

your violinist plays like an angel

  • gorgeous - alicia marry me

  • Beautiful!!! I hope my violin playing comes up to her level...thanx for the post!!!

  • very pretty ^^

  • You really do play this sonata well. I feel that this style of playing is too romantic for Mozart. The use of vibrato is extreley intense around 2 mins, for instance. The playful, fun side of Mozart seems lost.

  • That was amazing! I watched this half an hour before my ABRSM Gr7 violin exam and it really helped me gain confidence for this Allegro. I have something to say though. Don't you think you went a little too legato in certain parts of the movement? I dunno, it's just that me and my accompanist practiced it pretty differently, as in most of it being rough and stuff. Anyways, nice playing!

  • Hello! Thanks for your comment. Yeah you know, I found this piece incredibly wierd in some unexplicable way. I thought of it as a free-floating spirit with some rough edges however always forward flowing (in a Mendelssohn-esque way). I felt a legato would produce that effect. But I'd love to hear your interpretation!

  • Beautiful rich sound, great intonation, wonderful execution. Your interpretation really grips me as a listener. Please continue posting.

  • Really well played.

  • it's so slow, i almost fell asleep after the first bar... and do you really think this is sad music? i don't really believe so.

  • Not so much sad as mysterious. This is his most enigmatic sonata. However what you bring up is probably the most important issue there is in the sonata: it's marked Allegro but should it SOUND like an allegro? I don't think so. We actually played it at 140 which is very much an allegro but the music notation itself inherently lends itself to SOUNDING slow.

  • it's al'la breve. the minim should be the beat in a more or less alegro movement. that's how i play it and how i think of it. i'm not saying i'm right, but otherwise, te music doesn't make much sense. faster, it does.

  • WONDERFUL! I played this on the piano when I was in conservatoire (now I focus as a countertenor though) and my violin player was a torture to play with... CONGRATULATIONS! :)

  • nice:)

  • Thank you! You both make nice duet. Almost everything is in a right place. Keep on! And hope to see you on a 'big stage' soon.

  • very very good but acoustics in the room are horrible

  • beautiful..

  • wow ur good

  • 支持中国队!。。。赫赫~~~

  • I'd been waiting for you to upload the first movement! It was worth that wait

  • a smooth and soft interpretion, creative!

  • Props to ur violinist also. Triple A team for life lol (: 2 views by me haha

  • WOOHOO ALEX ZHANG IS THE MAN!!!
