  • wah wah wah, safety, protocol, iso, unions, poor pay, PPEs, squalid working conditions, 14 hour work day...I've been waiting six months for a company in Utah to send me a simple aluminum deep drawn enclosure and they email to say it will be another month. These guys are bangin em out! Go for it China! You have your shit together!

  • Excellent! Thanx 4 sharing. Sadly, many here in America r working in poor conditions and being treated unfairly. None as bad as the men in this video tho....as far as I know...but if we don't wake up, we'll be doing the same thing! Without the unions, we r lost!

  • lol

  • at least they are given a 'Glove' for something

  • Being UNION does NOT add to costs, it reduces windfall profits. For example 2 plumbing co.'s bid the same job, for example a Target Store for the same exact price. The only difference is that the Union Co. owner has to pay his plumbers a few extra dollars per hour + benefits and the Non-Union owner gets more for his pocket. Unions keep hem HONEST. This country (UNITED States of America) is a Union. If you dont like UNIONS Effen Leave NOW and join these mooks in the essembly line.

  • wow, better not miss a stroke on that

  • OSHA is a small town in Wisconsin

  • We should go out to china, to emancipate these "slaves"

tell them that they should strike, and free theirselfs from their government's rule... Teach them (for example open china's internet) that they have their rights for freedom, and do not get by with this situation

    hope you've understood me

  • har har har great idea let's get them unionized and they'll end up just like GM

  • The Union GM workers didn't cause the problem, it was the upper echelon taking advice from big oil to keep 'em guzzling gas. Meanwhile Japan worked on solving this problem. So therefore, in this GREEN AGE people purchased the fuel efficient vehicles made in lobby-proof Japan. Big oil loves to screw everyone for a buck.

  • @brandistocker. If you stand up against your boss or your politicians in China you are arrested and executed for terrorism. Ironically Chinese prisoners are often sent to US and European prisons like Gutmo in "cooperation projects".

  • @brandistocker

This workers make 4 times as much as peasants. There are 10 people that want to get 1 position. If you strike, there are 9 people waiting for your job.

  • i want that job....u just don't want to fall asleep on that job

  • u can have it if you want. ask one of those chinese workers to swap lives with you

  • DO NOT BUY from companies like 'Nike', 'GAP' and 'Levi Strauss' that employed child labor in sweat shops with horrible working conditions !

  • I love Walmart

  • These guys and LongIslandEddie must have been trained together! Just look how that guy handles his metal shaving with his bare hands in his "the last machinist" video

  • /sigh globalization

  • Keep shopping a Wal*Mart.

  • That is a big row to hoe for many. It is very hard in this era of consumerism to tell someone their kid cannot have the latest doo-dad that is cheapest at Wallmart.

Consumerism's rampant want what you do not need credo of the last couple decades feeds right into the Wallmart buisness plan.

I am able to forego shopping there currently, but even when vacationing in northern Wisconsin, I see the new super center ready to smash the family owned grocery store right next to it.

  • ISO 2001

  • LOL

  • What I dont understand is how can americans NOT compete with the lean labor machine of China and Japan? You know who were the bad asses of our time? our grandfathers and those who lived and toiled hard for the labor of this country in the 20-60's. Now, we are just a bunch of pussies who think our shit doesnt stink and now its going to bite us in the ass. You'll see as the american dollar continues to depreciate...we will have not choice but to live like this when cheap labor comes here.

  • I don't see whats wrong in this video?

looks like safety first to me.. lol

think of this when you buy alle the cheap shit in the supermarket..

  • American jobs wouldnt be in danger if not for unions, "safety" crap, fuel economy laws and "pollution" control. China understands what free economy means. US is slipping into socialism. Vote YES for Republican candidates in your area. Vote NO to a jobless Godless liberal existence.

  • There would be no middle class if not for unions. Wake up.

  • This just proves that the safety culture in China is very lacking - and always has been. OSHA would probably have a field day going through this plant. Remember though, being smart doesn't make up for lack of common sense, which is what we're seeing with all the toy recalls and what not - I mean come on, little children like to put toys in their mouths, and you manufacture it with a deadly substance?? Dee dee dee!!

  • I cant believe they would allow this! Thank God American stamping plants, what is left of them, would not allow such dangerous conditions. Think about this next time another american job goes to China!

  • Why then are quality stats/consumer reports items (which mainstream folks rely on heavily) based on JD and TGWs. TGWs or things gone wrong are tracked and add up to service hit on a comsumers reports evaluation.

Now Toyota continues to gobble up market share, has done "service" recalls which is a way to get around some of these numbers. Recalls matter in the big perception of quality afforded the Asian companies.

  • oh, and here's someone else's opinion about JDPower. You can do some homework if you like to prove it right or wrong. goto radaronline and search for "features/2006/09/jd_power_associates"

  • My original comment was toward an online manufacturing forum, not solely to start a flamewar here. Sorry 'bought that.

This is an opinion obviousely, and we can discuss others without resorting to calling names (or I can at least).

It's not that big a deal to me if someone says their chevy has 300,000 miles and never stranded them. I think it's cool. I just don't believe it to be the norm.

    :-)

  • Profit comes before people.

  • Do your homework ohgood. JD Powers would tend to disagree as would 420,000 Toyota recalls. The legacy cost issue, which is huge, also crosses all borders of the American corporations.

  • Sorry, I don't put much trust in JD Powers.

Recalls are a GOOD thing. GM, Ford, Mercedes, Toyota, EVERYONE has recalls. It's a way of fixing things.

The old GM hands I've worked with (machinists, toolmakers, diemakers) told me of their fantastic health care plans, pensions, and buyouts. Today it is no more.

While we're bashing 'foreign' car makers, please tell me you NEVER shop at WalMart either, right ? Thanks for the comments, no sarcasm intended.

  • Of course, by 'foreign' cars and bells and whistles you mean the American made Toyotas, Nissans, Mazdas, Kias, but definately NOT the Mexican made Chevys, Fords, and Dodges, right ?

C'mon, the US can't compete because the US makes crap cars. Period.

  • ur a fucking idiot.....you must own an import....im sure you can eat that when you are out of a job

  • goalieguy41, I have no idea how you formed an opinion of a person from reading a twenty second post on youtube videos, but ok, I'm a fucking idiot if YOU say so. Thanks.

Could you explain the correlation of buying imports and being out of a job ?

Also, how does one actually eat an import car ?

    Thanks !

  • think about the big picture

  • And.......ur still an idiot
