  • as a former C* installer, I can add this: ask them if they are gonna send an in-house tech or a contractor, tell them your friend had a contractor drag mud on their carpet and drilled through a water pipe. I love doing it at their exhibits at public events, (city carnival/fair) where people are around, they IMMEDIATELY start talking circles and trying to cover it, though it is a fact that it happens!

  • not really, they do it on their own if you are a customer and haven't told them you do not want telemarketing. even better though, call them up, get their hopes up that you want extra services, then ask these questions, followed by a "nevermind". this may get you on the tele list actually!

  • Not a real rep. Reps are not allowed to release their first and last name. They are able to provide a first name and an agent I.d. And yes, Comcast does allow you to check your voicemail through your email account. Voice over Ip sucks ass. Loose internet and you loose phone as well. This is obvious that this is not a rep.

  • I do outbound telemarketing sales for Comcast, and I would have given that caller crap too. He obviously knew NOTHING about the product he was selling. He didn't know what Skype was, didn't know what a VOIP was. And though I'd never heard of traffic shaping before, I was able to figure out what it meant through the context.

    And what a terrible salesman. Apparently the words "Always Be Closing" did not get through to him.

  • Im a telemarketer and one of our clients we call out for is Comcasts, he was asking if you would wanna add a phone service to your current services for a good price. You didnt have to make it so hard on him, were just doing our job.

  • well he couldnt have been offering a good deal because he told him his services and hes getting a better deal how hes doing it now. another thing he wasn't really giving the guy a hard time. the point of this was because it was recording and he though he would let comcast know that traffic shaping is un acceptable and to poke fun at the idea.

  • I actually work in the cable industry. AT&T Broadband was bought out by Comcast. We used to have AT&T in our area and they had plans to run fiber to the curb, but then they got bought out by Comcast and they totally suck.

  • I use to make telemarketing calls and I use to call some Cable TV customers for one company (Cannot disclose which one!) and most of the people I call, had their problems with the Cable TV provider and did not wanted to add more services and they where talking about bad Internet connectivity and higher priced TV service.
