as a former C* installer, I can add this: ask them if they are gonna send an in-house tech or a contractor, tell them your friend had a contractor drag mud on their carpet and drilled through a water pipe. I love doing it at their exhibits at public events, (city carnival/fair) where people are around, they IMMEDIATELY start talking circles and trying to cover it, though it is a fact that it happens!

Not a real rep. Reps are not allowed to release their first and last name. They are able to provide a first name and an agent I.d. And yes, Comcast does allow you to check your voicemail through your email account. Voice over Ip sucks ass. Loose internet and you loose phone as well. This is obvious that this is not a rep.

I do outbound telemarketing sales for Comcast, and I would have given that caller crap too. He obviously knew NOTHING about the product he was selling. He didn't know what Skype was, didn't know what a VOIP was. And though I'd never heard of traffic shaping before, I was able to figure out what it meant through the context.
