i took a look at the ions before and it uses a switch activated pedal.. im wondering if you can plug a legit electronic drum set bass pad and use a real kick pedal instead of the switch pedals.

i have a ion set and a kd 8 kick trigger i had to buy a kick box to change the signal so the brain would pick it up the kick box is about 60bucks i think im not sure.

Same four pads just with the option of the cymbals. Same thing the RB2 kit is now with the Mad Catz add on. But I love it as I know I can beat it to death and it will still work:)

I would rather get a goodwoodmod instead of a ION.

As I stated in the Ion review. The Good Woods are great but the mesh will have to be replaced. I know as I went through a whole set of heads and it has nothing to do with how hard they are getting hit. He uses window screen which will give way at some point as all mesh does.

Full Combo coming soon? You do a good job of using cymbal hits versus pad hits at the correct time (not very difficult in this song). Is that from familiarity with the songs or just drummer's intuition? It seems to me it wouldn't be difficult to put an X through the crystal for a cymbal/ride note (even if it doesn't differentiate between them and the pads). There's a million different notations in different types of tablatures. I feel like it would step up the games use as a learning tool.

Yes I plan to FC this song:) I agree with you we need something to tell us when it is a cymbal. In this song I am familiar with it. However all the other songs is drummer intuition. Sometimes if you look at how the pattern of blue notes is grouped together and listen to the song you can kinda tell when it is a tom versus a cymbal although it is not easy. The green is always usually a cymbal except in some songs.

So with the Ion Kit do you suggest getting the third cymbal for the extra $50? Since you arent using a high-hat?

Yeah i am going to add another cymbal here. I already have some just have to find the proper mounting pieces to do it with since Ion will not give it to you without buying there cymbal. However if you are going for the whole experience then I would go for it.
