What you could do is type in crosshairs in to google images then get rid of the white or black background by using a composite mode. It works really fine!
@countzeppelin97. Yah, I'm sorry. My website has been down for a little while. Just use the actual link to it in the description. Thanks for the comment!
@PussPussProductions. Sadly, no. iMovie doesn't have much by the means of compositing. But, if you feel like you can put out 200 dollars, Final Cut Express is a wonderful program and can help you make better videos with effects and features that iMovie can't even dream of creating. The sniper scope is one of them.
@Techno11211. I watched it. The first part was done in Paint, right? As for the second part, did you download the actual file from MediaFire, or did you just save the image from my website?
hey, you know how your scope is slowly panning around back and forth. Can you speed that up a bit making the keyframes further apart? I want to be fast, short and sharp. Hope this makes sense. Thanks!
No problem. And yah, I want to start making more. But, i've been kind of busy and stuff. Plus, I don't got a whole lot of more ideas. Any recommendations or tutorial ideas?
Medieval I need your help I am having problems getting the wide screen version of the crosshairs to correspond with the chroma keyer. The standard one I had no problems with getting all the green from showing up I just hit the chroma keyer one time. With the wide screen the green did not completely drop off once I hit it one time. You can see the background fine but the people were green help please buddy.
Hmm. I'm sorry about your problem. My guess is that you need to fiddle with the "Chroma Keyer", itself. This is the new tab that comes up in the "Viewer" window along the top. As seen at 1:30 in the video. Try to move around the different sliders and bars along the top to create a better effect. Thanks for the question. I am hoping to cover this in a tutorial soon.
Thanks. But, Hmm. Make sure that Image+Wireframe is turned on. You can turn it on in the top of the "Canvas" window. It should be the box to the right of the box with a number and a precent.
love your tutorial you know your stuff,im new to FCE ive got as far as KEY & CROMA KEYER what do i do next you mention VISUAL,not sure about it.can you please help.
Hey, Paul. I appreciate the compliment. But what visual is, is pretty much just the color you want to key out. The color can range anything in the rainbow. Once you apply the "Chroma Key" filter to the Cross Hairs picture, there should be a new tab along the top of the "Viewer", as you can see me click at 1:26 in the video. Once you do this, select the "dropper" tool, and select the green. This is just to select the color you want to key out; green. Please, let me know if this helps.
No problem. But if the background is black, or white, you use something called "Luma Key", translating to "Light Key". You can access it below the Chroma Key Filter, and it works the same way. Except, instead of a VISUAL, like we talked about earlier, you just select the clip you applied the "Luma Key" filter on, and hit on "Filters" in the Viewer. You should see it. By default, it will key out the white, but to key out the black, click "Key Mode", and then "Key out Darker".
Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I will be making many more of these tutorial videos, so subscribe if you want to check some of them out. And I'll be happy to return the favor. : )
