What's wrong with this song? I like it, I think his English is great, his accent really contributes to the sound, and his choreography is incredible. I think he did good.
Hello. Iam a 15 year old guy from greek. I REALLY love this song, even if i dont understand a shit about what they are singing=) I Decided to make a video on me singing "Mange Bjuder" for you guys=) Check out my channel, hope u like it.
@Maylett91 I think this guy is amazing because of that. At first, I had no idea he was Swedish and not American 0__o he did an amazing job of sounding American and even SPEAKING English (and, hey, he's really cute and good looking lol ;P). I hate how all the other countries have to learn our language and we don't even give a damn about it. WE never have to learn THEIR language!! It's so unfair to them D:
The lyrics are meh, but I really like the style of the music video. And, the beat is a little catchy. He's an average singer that dances pretty well. Overall, he's not one of my faves, but I don't mind listening to him occasionally.
Can't say I think the song is "all inspiring" or that it "took my breath away" or moved me in any way...but i do like it. And the guy has a pretty cool style and I like the way that the video was presented; it aint half bad :D
@otaku876 I don't tihnk so! I mean, sure he is really cute but me and friends love his voice! I can understand if you don't like his voice or his songs :) but I can promise you that there are many people out there who do like him for his music! :) I do ;)
a former children's TV presenter ...? Ah, now I understand why of this crap x teens !
Really a mystery to me how such mediocre little song could even get an unbelievable final 3rd place ( xdd ...) , or maybe not that mystery , knowing what the ESC has been brought to by those who gave their vote to trash like this ....
I wonder where art music and good taste migrated to far from sweden and northern europe, some time ago .....
@sasodei1995 You don't need to be cranky or popular to dislike this pathetic rubbish , unless you wanna say such trash x cranky teens is music ....;-)
You try speaking English, when you speak Sweden - or any foreign language- , learn an entire song in limited time allotted. Learn choreography to the song and sound like an actual American English speaker. Then get critiqued by actual English speakers and the entire world.
Cut the guy some slack. He worked hard, just like the rest of the Eurovision Artists.
@SverigeTurkeySpain What exactly do you want me to say? Congratz? You're not the only one who can speak that many languages... I speak Spanish, English, Italian, Russian, German and I'm learning Hebrew. I can understand Latin, but I'm still studying it and I am currently practicing my Japanese.
So I'm glad that you can speak and understand all those languages, I'm sure you'll be very successful in life! Keep it up.
I only meant to say that it takes some major balls to go on stage sing in front of the entire world (Literally, people from all over the world watch and go to this show) and kick ass the way he did, sounding completely native. Not many people can do that.
And when people can't appreciate it, it makes me mad. Because it takes a great deal of practice to master a language and its pronunciation.
@Maylett91 Oh and I almost forgot. It's awesome that you can speak Lithuanian! I've always wanted to learn it... maybe once I can catch my breath I'll give it a shot :D
And Turkish... I never thought of learning that language... You got me on that... Maybe I should look into it. After all the Turkish Culture is amazing. Then again... every European culture is amazing to me XD
Yes, Hebrew. It's such an amazing language. And it's so unique compared to the other mainly spoken languages... It's a little bit hard to learn though XD But I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually...
@Maylett91 It's not about him working hard, because I truly believe he did. It's about him almost winning the contest with a song like this while there were way better songs which could have ended second best. Be honest, what's better? A song about being popular or a song about encouraging people not to care about popularity because it will be lost eventually anyway? I'm referring to Popular and New Tomorrow respectively btw, but I could also have referred to for example Sognu.
@Veneziamore If that's the way you see it, I have no problem with that. But you also have to pay attention to the fact that not all his music is like that. And "Popularity" is what get's someone famous and well known. It's up to the person to decide if they use said fame for good or bad. Which is what I think the song is trying to convey. Become someone, do something important with your life.
@Maylett91 And as for the placement that he got in Eurovision. He could have come in last and I'd still back him up. Just Like I back up everyone at Eurovision, because they are doing something I could never do.
I'm impartial as to who would win. I just like the fact that everyone in this show tried doing their best, someway or another.
@@Maylett91 Popularity indeed gets someone famous and well known, but I don’t find it to be about doing something important with your life. My concern is why songs which convey valuable messages with great lyrics lose to songs which do not or very little, and thus Popular beating many other songs in this year of Eurovision.
Backing up artists is a wonderful thing which not many people dare do, but knowing and admitting the difference in level between them must be dared as well.
@Veneziamore Yes, you have a point there. But the only thing I can say is that it's how the music world seems to be presenting itself now. It's rarely ever about the feelings or the people it reaches. It's more about numbers and how high said numbers can get.
Well, fame actually helps you get your point across, if you have fame you can change the world if only a little. You can open the eyes of many and help much more.
@Maylett91 Oh, I'm not afraid to admit Eric Saade has his follies. But he's like every artist. And even those that seem to have good meaning behind their lyrics aren't always the type of person one would like to be.
It's just a matter of how you present yourself, I believe. And how you use your talent.
I posted my orginal comment, not because I thought he was the best. But because people didn't seem to appreciate the struggle that comes with a language or this contest.
@Maylett91 And I meant for that to apply for every artist, because they all broke away from their comfort zones to become artists. Which I admire.
And it's why I felt compelled to say my comment. But I'm not saying you are wrong. You are correct in the fact that popularity isn't everything. But I think I just like seeing the bright side of this song.
That he wants to break away, become someone, and change something if only a little, before his life ends.
@Maylett91 That's true, and about the only thing good about popularity. You admiring artists because they broke away from their comfort zone and show their talents to the world is a beautiful thing in itself, but your comment about Eric can be mistaken for supporting songs with no or few messages in them, and that's why I replied to you. You may certainly like his song, but people dis the guy because his song has poor lyrics compared to other Eurovision songs and think it's not fair.
@Veneziamore I can see how that would be the problem. I'll make sure to be more detailed next time. And although them dissing him for that is in their right, I don't think it's fair for people to say his English sucks, or that he's a bad person. One song should not define a person. That would be like saying the color of ones skin defines who they are.
@Maylett91 And we should all know that that's not the case. If anything I would love to meet the guy before ever judging him on appearance or choice of lyrics. And it's not to say that his other music isn't good. A lot of his songs have good messages and are really creative.
ya, ladies. he is good-looking. Not really good-singing tho =) I love Eurovision - so many hot boys and you never need to decide who's a better singer
@simplen89 Totally with you (y) I'm swedish, and I screamed ''NOOOOOO!!!!!!!'' when he won xD (the swedish melodifestivalen) I wanted Nicke Borg or The Moniker to win :)
@JuudenAndFyn It's hard to explain without bragging. Pop music is simple minded, it only satisfy ppls who doesn't play instruments. A beginner in music would create a more advanced song/lyric. All these new popstars has sadly brainwashed the youth and now ppls thinks this is "music". =/
Should have won!! How much better would it be if eurovision 2012 would be in Stockholm and not Baku? And what an amazing song, Eric! Greetings from Finland, your neighbour!
I'm Swedish and although I'm happy we got high ratings in eurovision 2011 I'm also sad because this song is terrible compared to Denmark's "New tomorrow" or Finland's "DaDaDam" :(
But not many cares about the meanings of songs anymore.
(I'm sure there was more great songs but I didn't bother going through everyone of them...)
It's not about the views you dumbass. That's just because teenage girls watch this because the say he's 'hot'. But his voice and the lyrics are not hot at all.
wasnt it like swedens best songwriter who wrote this song? well i just thought since the lyrics are horrible and it sounds like 10 year old wrote this song. another justinbieber-wannabee
eric saade reflecs our generation of "men" narcissistic fame whores acting like women, aiming to become "popular" UNTIL in their 30s they realise that they will never be popular, which leads to some psychic breakdown PATHETIC. our generation will go down in history as the time when men became women.
BTW im saving champagne for when eric saade dies:)))) he´ll probably take his life when his 15 minutes of fame is over
@priviums Hey, that guy is like really famous in sweden and some other countrys.. I think he's good looking and sings ok. You don't like him because of the song so I think you should know that he didn't write the song so save the champagne for the (also very famous) guy that wrote the crappy song :)
@AlvaBrenner yeah well eric saade still is a narcissist and wears makeup and looks like a douchebag and sings a song about being popular, i dont care who wrote it
@mellitavella1 Why did you write in English (as I can tell it's not your language) Answer: It's a lingua franca in Europe (and, the world for that matter). So, yes, it's for promotional reasons.
@TrisAyumi I am from Denmark and all the "younger" danes speak english just like an american. And I think thats because we see all these holywood films, songs and tv-series. Kind of sad yes - i really like the british accent :D
Erik i love you.

It's not about the views you dumbass. That's just because teenage girls watch this because the say he's 'hot'. But his voice and the lyrics are not hot at all.

hey, i love eric saade! He´s very sweet!
Eric, yes it looks good! Honest!
CoolCrazyGirl1 1 month ago
eric saade reflecs our generation of "men" narcissistic fame whores acting like women, aiming to become "popular" UNTIL in their 30s they realise that they will never be popular, which leads to some psychic breakdown PATHETIC. our generation will go down in history as the time when men became women.
BTW im saving champagne for when eric saade dies:)))) he´ll probably take his life when his 15 minutes of fame is over
priviums 1 month ago
@priviums Hey, that guy is like really famous in sweden and some other countrys.. I think he's good looking and sings ok. You don't like him because of the song so I think you should know that he didn't write the song so save the champagne for the (also very famous) guy that wrote the crappy song :)
AlvaBrenner 1 month ago
@AlvaBrenner yeah well eric saade still is a narcissist and wears makeup and looks like a douchebag and sings a song about being popular, i dont care who wrote it

I have a question: Why does he sing in English? is not his language! may be for promotion? Someone answer me.. thank you :)
mellitavella1 1 month ago
@mellitavella1 Why did you write in English (as I can tell it's not your language) Answer: It's a lingua franca in Europe (and, the world for that matter). So, yes, it's for promotional reasons.
