Calling Rod Coronado a hero cheapens the very definition of the word. A police officer stopping a rape in progress is a hero. A firefighter saving a little girl from a burning house is a hero. I am reading "Operation Bite Back: Rod Coronado's Fight to Save the American Wilderness"
Rod was a wreckless hippie with a big heart. I loved the way he read up on all his Native Ancestors battles to seek inspiration for his fight for the animals!!!!
And what IS this country today, emart? a cesspool of greed, corruption, and apathy. a disgusting pit of snakes!
God bless you Coronado! I can say without shame that you are one of my heroes. I wish I could be the same as you.
your words are truly inspiring and your fight is one of the most admirable possible. As long as there is greed and filth around to destroy this world for profit, there will always be warriors to fight them =D
Rod Coronado is a true animal hero. It's incredible that even today people have to wear masks to truly help their fellow creatures. It just goes to show that our society still has a long way to go to become truly mature, compassionate and respectful of other life on this planet.
What will we say when asked to give account of our stewardship of the planet? I think most will be ashamed... but not Rod.
@journeyman47 not even modern day. In the 1500's during the outbreak of the pasteurella pestis strand of the Bubonic plague, doctors would use animals to test certain strands to see which carries the plague and how to protect from it. They used that knowledge to design their suits to treat patients. This led to the creation of gas masks as well.
@journeyman47 Criminal is a subjective term, just over 50 years agoi it was illegal to be gay, or to crossdress. If the government writes corrupt laws should we follow them? in Germany hitler wrote laws allowing jews to be slaughtered, In Uganda current laws make it life in prison for aiding a homosexual, you can even be jaild for not turing one in
@moetthepoet First of all, Godwin's law. Second of all, being gay is not bad, blowing up buildings is. Destroying property is not subjective you psychopath.
@Cheshirecat55 Calling him a criminal cause he breaks laws, while recognizing laws are not always right, or good, is crap. So he's a criminal, that simply means the laws do not sanction his actions, it says nothing of right or wrong. there are so many cops killing people(eg taser them like in the vancouver airport) those cops never get convicted. So many logging companies breaking court orders or endangered species acts and never getting charged law has nothing to do with right or wrong
@moetthepoet You seem to be caught in this bullshit "two wrongs make a right". Rod broke a law which is there on purpose. Burning down buildings is something that is illegal and should STAY illegal!
@Cheshirecat55 actually I am simply trying to deconstruct the idea that legal equals right and illegal equals wrong. I think the law is worth shit, and we need to make our ethical judgements based on whatt is right not what is legal. if the courst, the police, and the laws serve to protect those who are doing wrong, then I think it is right to break those laws, as Rod Coronado did.
@moetthepoet he set a building on fire... A medical research facility.
and you think that's justified because you think humans should not use animals for testing? I am SO glad people like you do not influence government. Why shouldn't human's kill other animals when we benefit in the end?
@Cheshirecat55 actually people like me do influence government, but not by lobbying, read your history revolutionaries always influence change. the USA was quite content to ignor Martin Luther King jr until more militatnt black nationalists like Malcome X apeared, then all of a sudden they are wanting to wiork with King.
although I don't want to influence goovernment, I want to abolish it.
further, look deeper into animal testing, most of it is extremely fraudulent, so no "we" don't benefit...
@moetthepoet So you're basically some anarchistic kid who thinks it's cool to burn places down that help people. nice. if you ever need insulin or any medicine for that matter, feel free to request they don't give it to you. So you can "die an animal rights" activist. And never wear clothing again.
btw, Malcolm X didn't lead to any radicalism, only threatened it if they weren't heard.
So this is all a conspiracy. Insulin is a conspiracy for the cosmetic industry? They're just fucking with us?
@Cheshirecat55 close but not quite. I'm a long term dedicated anarchist. was some anarchist kid 15 years ago... Now I'm the co-founder of one of the largest anarchist gatherings in north america, and have founded other long term anarchist projects, had writing published, am part of many collectives, set up many events, been interviewed multiple times, & worked with SHAC Canada briefly, so I know a lot about animal testing.
@Cheshirecat55 No, I never said insulin was fraudulent, I said animal testing was fraudulent. There is a big difference. However if you want to go there, look into it, hundreds of animals were killed needlessly for the invention of insulin cause the fuck who created it had more ego than brains & refused to let the americans fund him so instead he killed many animals through infection from not knowing how to perform the operations correctly. hundreds died before he sucked it up & took the offer
@moetthepoet What I don't get is if you are so on board with killing animals if it helps humans, why did you bother to watch this video?
Now if you wanna look into animal testing a good start is the ALF documentary Behind The Mask, which includes interviews with people that use to work in testing labs & scientists.
Or check the SHAC website (Stop Huntington Animal Cruelty). most animal testing being done is contract testing done to avoid lawsuits on products already on the market for years
@moetthepoet if animal testing is fraudulent... then... so is insulin, by your logic.
needlessly? Do you know what Insulin is? Uh...
Insulin was not invented, it was extracted. It's an Exogen. And no, to prove you're lying, the people who discovered insulin, all three of them, were Canadian. and if what you said was true, we wouldn't be doing it today. We are.
What about the cure to small pox? we had to kill thousands of cows to create vaccines. The death rate in that went from 40% to 1%.
@Cheshirecat55 Animal testing does not save lives cause it is fraudulent. it guarantees dangerous products that were not properly tested get on the markets
Coronado fire bombed facilities that were testing to solve a health problem that only occured in mink when kept in confined places. the testing was being done to increase profits for the fur industry, not for any medical reasons. most of the action Coronado did were against fur farms, the mink industry is incredibly cruel, including using anal electrocution.

Rod was charged with a bullshit federal crime for purportedly teaching/instructing others how to make an incendiary device, yet the internet is rife with websites on "how to make a bomb"!
In 2007, Rod Coronado stood trial in San Diego on charges related to that speech. After 2 days of deliberations, the jury was deadlocked, and a mistrial was declared.
Rod subsequently entered a guilty plea, accepting a deal for a 1 year prison term (he was facing 20 years of fed time). He began serving that time in May 2008.
Rod plead to the ludicrous charge because the FBI were terrorizing his friends, family, and those who attended the talk he gave in 2003.
Frustrated after 2 years and no leads into the 2003 condominium arson in San Diego, the FBI went after Rod Corronado, indicting him in February 2006 for a speech he gave in 2003, wherein Rod demonstrated how the incendiary device used in the Michigan arson was made.
He was charged with violating a rarely used anti-terrorism statute that makes it a federal crime to distribute information related to bomb-making.
First amendment rights do not apply to animal rights activist when taking on the vivisection industry, one where the Animal Welfare Act protections do not apply.
"Nothing in these rules, regulations, or standards shall affect or interfere with the design, outline, or performance of actual research or experimentation by a research facility as determined by such research facility."
Go ALF! How can anyone watch this and not agree? ALF harms no one and prevents the HORRIBLE PAIN AND SUFFERING of animals. Who wants to raid a fur farm?
BTW...you're lucky i don't know where you live you emo coward ElvenIsle...i bet if i met you in the street you would just turn your head and walk away like a coward...if i knew where you live i would happily slit your throat and then eat ramen to celebrate your death while listening to moonlight sonata by bethoven :)
Ever heard of Jill Phipps? What about the shooting in New Mexico. The animal rights movement has had several cases where violence has been comitted towards them. When others show no regard for the biodiversity of life they deserve everything they get. The ALF gives abusers just a taste of the fear and anguish their victims suffer on a daily basis.

redpunk--human experimentation began in America and UK first, where animal experimentation was already practised.go and watch another video, you tosser!
and guess whose view coincide the most with what PETA and ALF want? here's a clue: they conducted medical experiments on prisoners in concentration camps
Anyone who inhumanely kills an animal deserves no rights. If there were no consequences for murder I would slit the throat of anyone wearing a fur coat.
Ok, so for you its ok to kill other human beings, but to kill an animal for its warm fur in order to survive is heinous? And you people call us murderers?
The ALF has not killed one person the fur industry has killed millions. What about the four incidents where animal rights protesters have been killed? What about when someone started shooting at an animal rights office in New Mexico? This movement has not killed one person it only has had victims on their side. Get your facts straight.
Do you believe in Satan?? I hear he loves suffering and death. Why would we listen to a washed up old man who suppresses his human compassion to make profits??
i cant help but totally admire this guy, may your god bless you and all others like you wherever in the world they are, my wife has descendants from the crow, there are loads of historical social issues brought out in this. absolutely very well done, visit me anytime in north east england!

If you were an animal in one of those labs, you would have prayed to God for someone brave enough to come along and firebomb the place.

Anyone who inhumanely kills an animal deserves no rights. If there were no consequences for murder I would slit the throat of anyone wearing a fur coat.

Ok, so for you its ok to kill other human beings, but to kill an animal for its warm fur in order to survive is heinous? And you people call us murderers?
marineboy128 5 years ago
Someone who kills is not innocent and deserves whatever comes their way. And is fur necessary these days to keep warm?

The ALF has not killed one person the fur industry has killed millions. What about the four incidents where animal rights protesters have been killed? What about when someone started shooting at an animal rights office in New Mexico? This movement has not killed one person it only has had victims on their side. Get your facts straight.

Do you believe in Satan?? I hear he loves suffering and death. Why would we listen to a washed up old man who suppresses his human compassion to make profits??

MAN wrote the bible...And MAN is a ruthless, selfish beast.
