I can't really take them seriously. First off the guy said that the grandfather and young boy as too Neverending story for him, but that was Princess Bride. Neverending story would have been a better comparison as it does delves into reading a book and becoming part of it. The comparison of Harry Potter or Narnia films, well i had a problem with it because people have been making movies off of books long before HP and the new version of Narnia (there older ones). Its unfair to trash it for that.

raytenana: The trailer is abit misleading - particularly thevoice over. I've watched the film and can honestly say that they do NOT go into the book- it is still very much Inkheart =D they have a few bits and pieces that aren't meant to crop up until Inkspell, but its very well done

Also, yes they do put more emphasis on Mo - but why shouldn't they? By Inkspell, he does become more of a Main character, and by the third book, he does =) Trust me, by the time you've read InkDeath, it'll make more sense ;-D

Okay . . . well, what the hell is a marten? Is it a thing in the book, because I haven't read that yet. Either way, I was just saying the ferret was cute and that I have one too. I'm sure the book is great though, and I want to read it I just haven't had the time to get it nor the money. As for the movie, I'd rather wait for it to come out on DVD to see it. I'm sure it's okay, possibly, but just like Eragon the movie I bet the book is a lot better, because they totally destroyed Eragon.

There IS a grandfather type character in here and Robin Williams, much as I love him, would RUIN this movie. There is no real comedy in here, just some small bits of comedic relief. And just because a book is made into a movie doesn't mean it trying to be the new Harry Potter. Many books were made into movies before that was even written...

I can't really take them seriously. First off the guy said that the grandfather and young boy as too Neverending story for him, but that was Princess Bride. Neverending story would have been a better comparison as it does delves into reading a book and becoming part of it. The comparison of Harry Potter or Narnia films, well i had a problem with it because people have been making movies off of books long before HP and the new version of Narnia (there older ones). Its unfair to trash it for that.

have they ever freaking read the book? i agree that the trailer doesn't do the book justice, but only because the story got changed so much. i hated when they said that it got too dark because it's not supposed to be a happy cheery story. it is supposed to be dark and suspenseful. if anything, they took too much of that key dark element away. and brendan fraser is the perfect choice for mo because his character was written around brendan fraser. these two morons piss me off with their ignorance.

I think she's crazy. To me, Robbin Williams just can't be serious enough. Brendon Frasier can be both serious and comical. (look at the mummy movies and george of the jungle.) They picked the perfect person for Mo. (or as perfect as possible)

Did one of them ever read the books? Anyway, I think Paul Bettany and Hellen Mirren are excellent choices for their characters and I sort of like Andy Serkis as Capricorn. I agree with them that Brendan Fraser is not the sort of Mo I expected after reading the books...

raytenana: The trailer is abit misleading - particularly thevoice over. I've watched the film and can honestly say that they do NOT go into the book- it is still very much Inkheart =D they have a few bits and pieces that aren't meant to crop up until Inkspell, but its very well done
- Yes i agree about the dog- but they put a wizard of Oz spin on the film, hence Toto being called out the book (don't worry, the wizard of Oz thing works out better than it sounds)=)

They carry on comparing it 2 Harry Potter and Narnia! I love those films but Inkheart is a diffrent story and the book was written so well and Cornelia Funke was involved in the film.
Plus, Inkheart has a mostly British cast and Robin Williams is American!
I don't think the film will be anythin like the book but it looks excellent!!!!
