Considering the hoops you have to jump through and the arbitrary rules for getting this item, I've come to accept it as an Easter Egg, that the devs never meant for anyone to get. Just makes me feel better to think of it this way. Though maybe I'll give the RNG thing a try when I'm really bored.

@FF9MovieMaker lol I kinda agree with you, but you have to see it in another way. When you play Perfect game in a FF12, then it becomes a "pick up and play" game. It is a way for me to relaxe to farm 1h some days after work, other peoples prefere watching TV, but I relax more while playing FF12.

I thought I was the only one who had patience for 99 Z-Spears. Heh, I only had the patience to get 14 (172 hours) of them without RNG, then I just decided to use it to finally make my Full Perfecter Game (Everything is perfect, including HP/MP). Glad to know that someone else can do it besides me. Stupendous job flak76e.

Epic fail. If you just showed the method to get the spear it would have been believable but you have 99 danjuro and yagyu darkblade which is almost impossible. So it is obviously hacked.

people he may not of cheated......thersd a method to get a massive load load of treasure....in the phon cost open the pack of 16 chest in a certain way tthen open the pack of 16 chest in nabudis in the same way as the phon coast.. make sure zodiark is dead. go to the henne mines where you killed zodiark... there should be a chest. equp the diamond armlet. open the chest and the chest will spawn again instanly containing tournesols, zodiac spears wryhhero blade, ultima blade dark matter.

@rokstar234 but his luck on the other chest is starnge, i was unable to test trick cuase A didnt defeat zodiarc cuase of his paling B the chest in nercrohol were opened before th phon coast. i got it from some one else.in the guide i got it...its 100% foe those items with diaond armelet or youl gett weak armor and gil.... what puzzles me though is that why the programes let such a large horde of super rare items to be obtained so easily.....it doesnt make sense...

I just started playing this game and put 20 hours into it and almost started a new file after I found out about the zodiac spear. How hard is it to follow this method from a novice's standpoint and are there any other special "tricks" you could tell me to watch out for (similar to not grabbing those chests for the zspear) without giving me any spoilers? I'm in Raithwall's tomb right now. I like to fully complete games while having fun.

@Eve21688 The only problem for me is to respawn the chest one more time. I used the cure list method not the combo method and it is 100% guaranteed. You even know when the chest contains the Zodiac Spear. :)

there's is a pattern for the random number generator in FFXII and you can manipulate it by hitting yourself certain amount of times to make combos, those combos then with the right pattern will make rare item farming a breeze. look up FF12 Grand Master's RNG guide. ;)

I was redirected here,to what appears to be the master collector/looter [!!] ,by FF12GM as a reply to my hyper-urgent plea for help. My problem is that I can't seem to find a pattern of hits that, executed before entering Phase 2 Dig, would make the chest appear..in fact, as I mentioned to FF12GM propabilities of zc appearence seem even worse than the default!! I own a 50000 series PS2 [50004 to be precise] and FF12GM told me he was pretty sure this is your case too. So,if u please,share a tip..

Nice one, Flak but I disagree concerning the record. It is now held by 2 people that I know of. No cheat was used to get the Zodiac Spear, it was worked out by using the brain, not a cheating device. Ourosboros4's record is in the ditch and pales into insignificance next to yours andMike's achievement. Whover heard of a world record that takes longer to get 1/6th of the amount of the Item? Sorry, it was good whilst it stood but 16xZS now sucks. Gratz to you and Mike.
