i have noticed that first boots take a long time. did you download all of that stoff on it or did best buy do it? cause i see mcafee and adobe reader etc. because i heard they do that. i would be mad if i had all that stuff on there. i hate mcafee. i like to download my own stuff be myself.

When you increase the resolution beyond 1024x600, you're not really increasing the resolution, since the physical resolution of the screen is 1024x600, no more and no less. You think you get a higher resolution, but basically it's trying to push that higher resolution into 1024x600 and the result will look bad. And if you don't believe me, then I suggest you set the higher resolution to 768 vertical and count the number of pixels vertically with a magnifying glass; there will be 600 only!

sadly...windows 7 starter doesn't let you changed or personalized the desktop background and many other things. i would recommend you to change it or also there are mods where you can still change it while you still have windows 7 starter but i don't know i never tried.

so how fast does it take for it to load up the internet and run programs, and sorry to be annoying but after you play a 3d game just like rumble fighter without being plugged to the outlet does it take more battery life, ive also heard it can be somewhat heavy but is that a big issue to you, thanks

@UraLoza sorry for late reply, ive been busy. but yeah... internet and running programs are actually quite fast. i use google chrome and it is very smooth loading. i even use windows movie maker on this netbook! it is actually usable! yes... if you play video games will use more battery life but dont worry it is still pretty long. probably 5hrs on nonstop gaming. no its not heavy... i carry this almost everyday to school at my college campus. k i hope this helps, cya!

yes i think so for windows 7 starter. you might be able to put more ram in a higher windows 7 office software. but am not quite sure about that. unless the n450 can only read up to 2 gig ram. i hope this helps

haha its all good, but yeah u can get ram upgrade at best buy in the geek squad section. just ask them and they will have many different variety rams to choose from. I hope that helps.

oh sorry am sorry u cant. all netbooks only carry windows 7 starter and u can't change the background with that. only the other higher windows 7 upgrades. u might still be able to find a way to change the background by some kind of special software but i wouldnt know.

the battery is pretty decent. its a 4400mh battery and will last about 7 hrs, on power savings 8hrs, and heavy use is probably 6hrs.

@mafi23 i dont know if anybody has told you this already but window 7 starter only reads 1 gig ram. you can put 2 in and it will say in the bios reader but it wont use the other gig. only home premium and up... weird huh? yeah i know...

am not really sure but even the geek squad at best buy say that it wont run 2gig rams. You can put 2 gig rams in and it will say that it has 2 gig but it wont use them. They said that they have tried it with a customer. so am not really sure sorry...

yes because it has a longer battery life, better screen resolution, the new pine trail atom processor (which gives the longer battery life), and over better lookin design. I hope this helps.

The only thing that concerns me is the webcam quality. I heard it only has 0.3 megapixels. What do u think about the webcam?
