  • purtroppo, gli uomini non hanno imparato nulla dalla storia e adesso siamo nei pasticci.

  • The record company thought this song was talking about them. :O

  • sounds like a John Lennon song, I wonder why George didn't give it to him to sing

  • @residentevlidead

Lennon didn't usually sing anything written by George.

  • @nafaidni Not at all, just a little thought though, the ex Beatles were fond of writing songs for eachother though, especially Ringo, just imagine what Lennon would've sounded like though singing this, in the same vein of Gimme some truth, mind games, or bring on the lucie,

  • @nafaidni Because Lennon was ungodless men and hated The Lord, of course he did not sing any of his

song and he destroyed The Beatles with the same ungodless wife

  • @Alexkrasnoshek

    1: Godless, not ungodless.

    2. Agreed, but he did not destroy the Beatles. Nor did he "hate" the Lord, whatever that might be.

  • @Alexkrasnoshek please explain your definition of the anti-word-ism you call "Ungodless" ???? its a pretty cool word... I am claiming it and its going to be the name of my christian rock band... lol. *Dibs

  • Saudades de você, George.

  • Someone should make a music video of this with current events in it (i.e. debt crises, business crimes, corrupt leaders, etc.)

  • Great artist!!! Man what a band the Beatles were to have each member go off and have such success on their own. Great song.

  • Great song from the greatest artist. We need an Anthology with all these songs that did´nt appear in the official albums or were B-sides of singles. This song should have been in Somewhere in England, as well as Flying Hour, Sat singing and Lay his head. They are all masterpieces. Thank you George. Always in my heart.

  • @lovegeorge4ever

How mad must've George been when the label told him they wouldn't release this song? Mad enough to write and record "Teardrops", the biggest piece of garbage tune Harrison had released to that point (written specifically to replace this gem on the album) and follow it up with "Gone Troppo", the only bad album to my ears in the Harrison canon. Though even that one still has a couple gold nuggets.

  • @subg88 Hello. Of course there is no point in comparing "Tears of the World" and "Teardrops", but I would never say this one is bad. In fact, I have always loved "Teardrops" (I didn´t know the story between the two songs). But, the fact is that "Tears of the World" is SUBLIME.

GoneTroppo, yes, I felt a bit "surprised" when it came out. But there are beautiful songs in it, by example "mystical one", "circles", "that´s the way it goes" or "wake up my love". And "Gone Troppo" is a nice song too.

  • @lovegeorge4ever

BTW, I have a feeling we'll be getting that Anthology around the time Scorsese's Harrison doc is released next spring, supposedly.

  • I believe every person in the whole world needs to hear this song the lyrics are so relevant wow I can't believe this didn't make an album until after George died and therefore so few people know of this song that can really make the world a better place people just have to listen and then take action. I am. Thank you and bless you wonderful George. Thanks person who posted this song/the picture of George/video, much appreciated - youre sharing something George I am sure would want to be heard

  • what an awesome and real song this is!!!! George is missed..

  • isn't it the world as it is today today ? expecially

"Big business calling ev'ry tune polluting here and to the moon all nations, conservations drowning in the tears of the world"

there is nothing more to say, we must change something in this world!!!!

  • the record company left this off , they were and are so off the mark again as usual

  • Unbelievable that this was left off Somewhere in England. The songs the record company rejected were MUCH better than most of what ended up on the album. George gets the shaft again!

  • @subg88 I think the record company couldn't "dig it"

  • he sang with his heart, and, this is great, i really like his songs, haha.

He and john, after beatles, i don't know who is best, because they were amazing after the beatles, but, i still prefer all together =D

    But who don't prefer? haha

  • lyrically, one of the greatest ever, no one makes the guitar sound as beautiful yet sad like he does.

  • tehe, thanks for the laugh(about Paul)

  • his words are telling complete reality...I miss him a lot

  • LOVE GEORGE

  • Isn't it funny (sad, really...) that such truthful, relevent social commentary never really sees the light of day? Great tune... no reason this song never made the big time other than "big business calling every tune". Truth, Peace, Love are not as profitable as War Mongering, Terrorizing, Polluting, Unrighteous Action.

I'm drowning in the Tears of the World, but no more now than the last 8-9 years.....

    Where's your love been sleeping?

  • true love & ginko viloba tea

  • Wolfgang Vock

  • wonderful song

  • ke buena cancioon

  • I have no more tears for this world!

    Thank you George!!! R.I.P

  • This song reminds me of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" Rest in Peace George You Were the Best

  • Are you listening, Mr. Bush?

  • These lyrics are even more relevant today than when George wrote them.

  • true....very true.

  • Another of George's best songs. When I first heard it, I got chills. Another truth-revealing song. Thanks for the lyrics. You have a very good channel. All the best to you.

  • love it thanks for posting !!!

  • Brilliant!
