  • My light on my Koda Playsport will not go off. it is staying on won't turn off can not find the battery.

  • You could have had 230 shares of EK stock for the suggested retail price of $149.95 (01/02/12).

  • your giving me a headache with your out of focus/shaky video

  • @oterojuanma *Am I talking to you?

    FTFY bitch

  • It looks to me that you fucked up those threads, it clearly didnt come from the factory like that.

  • @duggcrates Yes, I did mess them up myself... the camera came from the factory in perfect condition.

My complaint is that Kodak uses cheap and mediocre materials to build their cameras thus the fucked threads.

  • What if you used a nyon bolt to secure it to the tripod? Would that solve the problem? Nylon is quite tough.

  • @seapeddler Tell Kodak ;)

    I totally agree

  • you are complaining about the kodak playsport, but it is better that your camera

  • @oterojuanma Are you serious? HE CAN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PLAYSPORT ZX3 IF HE'S USING IT TO FILM! Moron..

  • @DutchPyroHD do i'm talking to you? NO ,so please shut up :)

  • Crazy, what SD card do you recommend? And, too, is it tough for a computer illiterate to do the firmware update?

    THANKS MUCH!!

  • Hmmm I just got mine from Amazon yesterday and now I learn about plastic threads. What a joke.

  • does it works on imovie ????thankss, nice video

  • dont cross thread your camera.

  • one reason y it dosent have medal thread is because it is a camera made to go under water so the metal would rust over time ever think of that....

  • @bassinflorida Not if you used rust-free metal ;)

  • hah he's bin busy jerkin off

  • Is it just me or the tripod hole deteriorates after a few uses? Kodak won't replace it for me!

  • My kodak zx3 died at 4 months old , Really was impressed with the cam , but one morning uploaded some video to computer , Later that day wnet to shoot some more video and the zx3 would not turn on , tried another battery out of my daughters zx3 but still nothing , Guess I will have to contact customer support and see what kodak will do for me ,I will keep you posted

  • Mine died after a month! Works fine until you start recording, then it will not let me stop recording. None of the buttons will work, so I have to take the battery out to stop it!

  • i got the green tint problem. i have the camera for about 3 months, used it only 4 or 5 times, not even tried the underwater modus yet, suddenly a week ago while filming a bit suddenly the footage turned greenish! I still have warranty so i might contact the store, or maybe contact kodak itself. dunno what's the best option. I don't think i want a replacement cause the camera sucks., luckily i bought with the camera a optional extra warranty so i can exchange it for a complete different product.

  • THIS KODAK SUCKS IT BROKE AFTER 6 MONTHS . AND IT WAS NEVER ABUSE.. DONT BUY IT ITS CRAP THIS KODAK PRODUCT IS GARBAGE

  • Why are you shouting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's nice to hear a reasoned conversation, not someone screaming, information is what people are looking for , not a wanabe presentor,

  • @corvettecentral He's crazy isnt he? Chill

  • can you send the camera in to fix the threads, or replace it?

  • @KungFuMastur

I have not tried but I'd imagine it's possible

  • The reason the threads are plastic is because the camera is waterproof...if you used metal threads, they would rust. I agree they should have thought about other synthetics that are stronger so the tripods don't de-thread them.

  • @jhenry1041 You are right however I have this camera and on the back of the manual it shows additional Playsport products including a mount with metal threads.

  • Calm the fuck down man. my ear can't hear 40 words per second. of all the words you said this video would have been 15 minutes. Besides that, good video, and thanks for the tips about the camera. :D

  • PLEASE DONT KILL ME!!! ;P

  • mine just crapped out on me.Will not charge at all. After plugging in the cord,it turns on and then shuts off after 2 seconds. It seems as though it is a problem with the circuitry that is responsible for charging the battery.Maybe a capacitor?

  • @bmdouble

I'm having the same problem and my camera actually just died for good a few days ago. I will make a video about it in a few days.

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer Same exact problem here.

  • @bmdouble same happened to me,i think it's the usb port

  • this is what i try to do to make the quality on my kodak playsport better set h20 mode on and thats about it, it kinda helps but maybe it's just my tv that makes the quality really crappy sints i have a standerd boxed tv and not a flatscreen hd tv whitch would probubly be better to record gameplay footage off of, also i turn the mic up all the way so ppl can hear me & the tv, but now that i think about it that might not have been a good idea, eather i need a better camera tv or just buy a dazzle

  • do you know of anyway of fixing the tripod thread as I have that problem as well?

  • mine stopped charging like it got dead batterie and now the charger port is like broken so crazyipodreviewer can u make a video on it please?! Thanks!

  • @shadowstalker700 i had that problem just buy a battery recharger then put the batteries in and it will work, or at least did for mine

  • @chillie118 how much is it

  • i dont have a problem with it

  • Kodak Playsports are total junk. Check the reviews on Amazon. Mine just randomly stopped working. Two days of chatting and phone with Kodak and they have been no help. Kodak is a total wasted of a company. When it works the camera is ok but MANY of them break and very easily. SKIP KODAK especially the Playsport. See how he says the movie deleted when he dropped it? too many issues Kodak!!!

  • I only had two problems with the camera: The sound quality isn't the best, and as far as I'm concerned, there's no focus. But overall, it's a pretty decent camera and something for me to make little cheap shorts and films with.

  • @LoticaStudios

The camera has a fixed lens so the lack of focus is not a defect. ;)

  • The minute I heard your voice and saw you I thought " HEY, ITS SCOTT TENORMAN FROM SOUTH PARK!" I did enjoy your video, I have the playsport and love

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer I love it but hopefully somewhere in the future I get a real camcorder with optical zoom and macro focus but until then the playsport does what I need it to. Which brand of camcorders would you recommend?

  • I've had no problems with my playsport. It does what i want and i think it looks great =D it loses quality when i upload it to youtube, but when i connect the camera via hdmi cabel to my tv, it looks great. My parents even ditched their old camcorder to get this. I love mine and hope to see no problems in the future

  • @OcarinaBrothers

Yea the problems I have had are not too severe!! It's still a good camera

  • u rock! thanks!

  • Thanks for the review on you tube. When in camera mode, can you zoom in? How are the pics inside a building? I am looking for a digital video recorder that also takes awesome still pics because I have children and would like to carry only 1 item. Any thoughts?

  • @tope7

    Yes you can zoom in!

and I am actually going to be uploading a video today with samples of the still images!! check back in a few hours

  • MY TRIPOD HOLE BROKE TOO! I contacted them too. They will fix it for free.

  • @kevinwong530

    Oh nice!

Mine is like half broken but it still works

  • just get the Toshiba Camileo X100 HD

  • What camera are you using to video this review? Which one would you recommend? We want to one on our cruise vacation, but not necessarily in the water? Which one is easier to edit and download? Thanks-you're doing a great job!

  • too much mountain dew ;)

  • if they put metal threads when u put it in the water it would rust but anyway good review

  • is the carmara good for fliming sk8 montages

  • @srx474

Considering it's really durable, I think it would be appropriate

  • My brother got one of these but the menu buttons don't work for some reason. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

  • I'm going to be getting one in the next week or two. I only have one little question. It supports all kinds of SD cards yes? It's not just Kodak SD cards right? I am thinking of getting a Transcend 16 GB Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card, but I want to make sure the playsport will take it.

  • @XxCrimsonRaptureXx

Get the Transcend SD card, I have one and it works great

  • LOL nice shades but an even better review!

  • @TobyMac35

    Thanks haha!

  • good review

  • @explosionZACH

    Thx bro!

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer your welcome can u make more reviews on it? like underwater

  • mine does blue not green...

  • they dont respect your opinion the zx5 also plastic threads

  • @1wetstick

    I guess not haha!

  • Just to let you know the new "PLAYSPORT Video Camera / Zx5" is coming out

  • Is anyone thinking "Gilbert Gottfried"?

  • fuck't up voice.

  • @saturnsigns Only stupid people notice stupid things.

  • Either put STAINLESS STEEL THREADS

    which DONT RUST

    only IRON RUSTS

    OR

Make the threads ABS instead of some cheap chineese plasic shit

  • @ghostrider433

Amen to you!! Couldn't have said it any better myself

  • my tripod mount at the bottom of the camera is striped too..is there a way to fix this..please help i need it!! :(

  • if they put metal threads it would rust its an underwater camera

  • @TheWhiteKid22

It could rust if not treated properly. Quality is defiantly something Kodak needs to improve on.

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer yes but if you think about it its only $149 so its a cheap camera. cheap things usually suck but this is pretty awesome

  • its 16:9 ratio

  • @naruto008899

    Yes it is

  • The green tint is the h2o setting left on. I know this beacuse I have gotten the green tint..... The h2o setting filterss out blue and beacuse of this it has a green tint, Just make shure you turn the h2o filter off. So DON'T give up on buying this camera.

  • @ratsmart9 i have the zx3 and the green tint problem. i had to turn ON the h2o setting to get rid of the green tint.

  • your supposed to punch out the lenses of the 3d glasses...

  • @iLove50pounders

I actually did that right after I finished filming this hah!

  • haha your fun :)

  • You really told them about the tripod =)) hahah

Oh yeah I took this *really* seriously.

  • @diantonovich

    That's good!

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer do you think the lemon optics issue is resolved now, for example, if i get it from Amazon?

  • You really told them about the tripod =)) hahah

    OK YESS LETS SCREAM!!!

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer I TOO WILL SCREAM!! LET ME!

  • Comment removed

  • chill out dude!

  • chillout dude!

  • @NilsKills

It was just an announcement that there were lemon Kodak Playsports being sold

  • Hey I looked on my nikon 3200 and it has plastic tripod mounts but they are fine and I have used the tripod a ton of times, so if they broke I have to assume you were not careful or the plastic is VERY cheap on the kodak.

  • @casemods

I was not "very" careful however I feel that they still shouldn't break

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer They should use metal all of the time. I think one of My Sanyo's might have a plastic tripod hole. Its black not silver I really do not want to test it and find out.

But I'm very very careful and have no problems so far.

  • dude, metal tripod thing + WATER = BAD COMBO!!

  • I CAN SHOUT TO!!!

  • @iAppleize

    That's fantastic!

  • I dont even know why u have that camera. U dont even look like a sporty guy lol. The reason why kodak didnt worry about the tripod mount is that this camera isnt ment to be screwed on a tripod. You're suppose to take it outside for xtreme shit. You're lucky that a mount for tripod is even on there. I take mine for skiing and it works fantastic.

  • @kevrean

I'm really happy that Kodak included a tripod mount but since they did I expect it to not break

  • @kevrean how does it work for skiing? im thinking about buying one tomorrow for ski season...

  • @CreatureFiend69 you should buy one man, it works great outdoors. How does it work for skiing you mean? I make my girlfriend hold it while she video tapes me haha. I don't really hold it, cuz I wouldn't enjoy the ice :P Well yeah it really works great. I love this camera so much. I'm i've dropped it so many times and go to the beach with it. This camera is crazy as hell. Crazy in a good way :)

  • Great job, the Fix to your tripod issue, will be to find an attachement, extention thaat will allow another tripod to be dded even if the holes are off center, understand. the Plastic threading is of not kodak, but our doing, using the correct tripods bolt course, not fine threading. trpsit dept 1-800-431-7278 opt 2. Green hue I have not yet heard of, and that will be of rushing a cam to the market. 4:3 ratio can be modded in editing to 16:9. the yelling can be low but expresses excitement

  • No problem! Thanks for the feedback =D

  • Thanks for the review

  • BUTTFUCK!!!!!

  • @TRRPictures

    No thanks

  • cough* nerd

  • @littlekidwithdahat

You don't even have to cough about it ;)

  • man your freaking out! stop yellin!

  • @TheJoiceWilder

Sorry, I just wanted to make sure that I was speaking loud and clear

  • what should I do about broken USB port on my playsport.....broke in the first week of use......Cheaply built!

  • @trooper9707

Sorry to hear that. If I were you I would call Kodak Customer support and get a replacement

  • @trooper9707 get a card reader. take out your card and put it in your card reader.

  • My playsport's USB port broke on me, I cannot charge the camera any more nor can i transfer the footage to my computer. It broke so easy on the first week of using it that I am pretty bummed. Is there anybody who could steer me down the right path to what I should. I feel like it was cheaply built and broke because of that. I have owed cameras for years and never had anything like this happen.

  • Excellent video. Thanks for updating us with this issues.

  • yeah and then when you get the metal threads underwater they'll rust and then you won't be able to use a tripod.

  • I have a problem where mine will not record video.. I press the record button and it starts to record then immediately stops recording..???? also if i take a picture with it and i try to view it on the camera, i get an error. Any ideas?

  • After watching this I will certainly be extra cautious with my mount threads. Really slow and gentle.

  • I bought it on the advice to get the one made before Summer 2010. My screen looks good, thank goodness. So tell me, what do you know about the firmware update? Should we be getting the update of 1.03?

  • @chrychek

I don't know anything about a firmware update. Is there anything wrong that needs updated?

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer I don't think so. I am dubious of the fact that finding information about the update that IS available compared to what is in the box and loaded on the camera when you first use it. I am unable to find out without actually doing it, so I wonder if you had.

  • I hope you emailed this to Kodak.

  • @chrychek

No I haven't emailed this to them, maybe you should email it and they'll take it more seriously

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer I'll do it.

  • Hi there,

Well done with your production of these videos. You're clearly serving the community of people who wish to know more - including me! I'm looking at taking this camera backpacking, and see that additional batteries can be bought. Do you find that you have to charge your product regularly, and if so can you do this by plugging it into a wall socket or just a USB port? What are the camera's closest competitors, and why did you choose the playsport over them?

  • @i04pbull

This camera would be great for backpacking! I usually have to charge this camera after about 3-4 hours of use. You have the option to charge either via wall outlet or USB port. The Playsport's closest competitors are the Kodak Zi8 & Zi6, the Sony Bloggie, and the Flip MinoHD & UltraHD

The Kodak is better because it has expandable memory, ability to record in 1080p, ability to record in 60 fps, and a removable/swapable battery.

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer

    Cheers chap :)

  • @discobubbles

    Hello from the USA :D

This camera is about as durable as it gets for the price. As far as water proofing and video quality go, the camera works as it is advertised. I have some test videos on my channel so you can get an idea of what the video quality is like.

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer eh thanks man! i saw some vids in ur channel as well as on others ppl channel. i think 1080 p is not very good. bit jerky and shaky. the 720 p at 60 fps is nice. though i got an idea abt the cam. peace

  • If your threads break, use a Helicoil thread insert to repair the problem... bullet proof.

  • @Jim0i0

Thanks! When the threads get the to point of being unusable (it will eventually happen) then I will have to look into this!

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer dude can u tell me hows the video quality of the vid at 1080 p and 720 p 60 fps? does it is really waterproof and is it that tough. i mean like if i would like to mount it at the suspension of bike or suv to get thrilling vids? is this camcorder lasts long? i dun care about tripods. just want to know hows the video quality and durability and waterproofing of this camcorder. and yeah which camera r u using to record the the playsport video.thanks . greetings from india

  • whats with the green! ?????

    what to do?

  • @hombreconcriterio

I'm not sure what do do since my device doesn't have that quality defect. I'd recommend contacting Kodak Customer Support and seeing what they have to say.

  • i freakin hate the green thing on the camera!!!!!!

  • lol not good no bueno

  • @weezyfan25

It may seem bad however you cannot forget that this is a $150 camera. You get what you pay for.

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer ya i guess is true

  • @CrazyiPodReviewer hey do u got a ps3? whats your gamertag thing?

  • @weezyfan25

    I don't have a PS3 sorry!

  • wait, so the only problem you have had is the bottom? well thats good news for me cuz every time i buy a product, and the common problems people experience, i dont. idk why, but all my stuff lasts longer and has close to none or none of those problems :D i SO want this camera

  • @thesniper1191

    It's a great camera!

And yes! The only problem I have had myself is the threads on the tripod mount coming loose. That is most likely a quality defect.

My only other complaint that I was not aware of before I got this camera is that it records in Apple/Quicktime .mov format so it is not exactly PC friendly.

  • lmfao I love this kidd!!!

  • @belltaco16

    Thanks haha you should :p

  • CrazyiPod...

Do you have any sample videos with the green tint? Have you contacted customer support with this issue and shared those videos for corrective action?

Bluerecluse, thank you for your comments. You hit the nail on the head on your comment on the tripod mount.

As for the camera getting warm, all electronics will get warm with extended use, just like a mobile phone, still digital camera, etc.

    -v-

  • @666evlgrl

I do not have any sample videos with the green tini because my camera does not have that issue but I have a link in the description of a YouTube channel that does have that issue. So check it out as it should help explain what I'm talking about

  • Don't be too hard on Kodak. They do have great customer support, and I think the reason for the plastic threads is part of the waterproofing of their camera. Just think if they had metal threads and you were using it in the water alot. RUST 4 LIFE!

Question: Does your playsport get a little warm underneath the lens after long use? Mine does, but it hasn't effected anything YET.

Thanks for another fine video, and have fun on your trip!

  • @bluesrecluse

Thanks! and that's true about rust! but still it shouldn't break off.

    Mine gets warm too!

  • @bluesrecluse - yes, it does get a little warm underneath the lens - it may melt down after 20-30min - we should do a test vid
