peodair is a champion. even though he lost this game, I think he won the game of life - as i heard he proposed to his girlfriend the day after losing and she said yes. what a legend.
I think it'd be a great show for the US. While Jeopardy's campness is an enjoyable American institution, it's inherently boring to see champions last six months or more, especially when they're not risking anything to keep playing. Better to have a finite number of shows and build the tension up.
I'm hoping it will be a great show as well, being a fan of the original Sale Of The Century,in which Temptation is an update of,with a few twists.Keep hearing reports that even if the program only scores a 1.5 in the ratings,it will still be a profitable success. We will see,in about 2 month's time.
1.5 seems like a reasonable goal, since the show will likely air on several MyNetwork TV stations. These days, a 3 is considered a hit show in syndication.
Being Peodair, I have to tell you, this show is not fixed. There is definitely trickier opposition (and that might mean any combination of freshness, unshakeability, speed or depth of knowledge) as a champ progresses, which, in combination with the fatigue felt after a few nights, results in close games and, often, a new champ. Good work David.
Wow! Glad to see you found this, Peodair! You certainly gave it a great try. Congrats on your winnings! One can only hope that the American version of 'Temptation' will be nearly as exciting as the original.
I agree...I loved "Sale of the Century" (the show's original title in the 60s, 70s and 80s), and the Australian clips I've seen intrigue me greatly. I look forward to the new version.
but for it to happen 5 or 6 weeks in a row in total.)(which is i think how long that ended up going on for(meaning for a champ to unsuccessfully try for all the prizes.) that was why he said that. (it is kinda weird.)
