  • love the orchestral arrangements. always nice to hear something new done to a classic:)

please check out my version by visiting my channel, and leave comments if you want to

  • I agree steelie....its blatant jealousy....Katherine has a fabulous voice and shes gorgeous :-)

  • It is a beautifull injection fabulous voices on both parts....simply magic !!!!!!!

  • This is a good song. Im not usually into this style of music, but its nicely done.

  • his voice does not suit this song. too pop-y!

  • This is top notch well done Katherine Jenkins and Jammie foxx.

  • wow suoer voice and cathrine jenkins superb 10/10

  • Katherine Jenkins is wank. I seriously dislike her voice... and hair.

Anyway, he was pretty awesome here. Shame she had to get in on it.

  • jealousy or what?

  • This song is so beautiful! I had never heard him before... But I don't think that she like, "fit in" here, but it is beautful though ;)

  • A really beautiful song! I shiver, I had never heard him before, but she... Doesn't fit in =S but the song is beautiful though!

  • Both fantastic singers!!!

  • Being fan of the musical Chess from the first moment (and I have seen it live at London Soho theatre), I believe this version of "Anthem" sang by James Fox and Katherine Jenkins is one of the most beautiful versions ever sung.

  • Katherine Jenkins is GREAT! They compement one oneanother beautifully.Stirring stuff!

  • He does the "pop"-version of this song. It's OK. But check korbergs if you want power.

  • And what wrong with Pop? People who seem to think anything that isnt Classical lacks talent or isnt as good just dont know anything about music.

  • Yes, you're all completly right. He should have sung it on his own.

  • he's good. she on the other hand....

    completley ruins the damn song.

for that she will be first against the wall when the revolution comes....

  • blatany jealousy...

  • he is BEAUTIFUL

  • he does a good job

  • Both the original swedish version and this english one is so good! But Tommy Körberg sings it better than anyone else!

  • Please come check out my version of ANTHEM from Chess and tell me what you think.

  • it sound like he sings just after the notes and music is about show your own sound, feelings and so. It's like no feelings in this song. But that's just what i'm thinkin'.. The song is great and both the singers are great, just a little more feelings ánd it would be exellent

  • Truely an amazing performance, but still not as good as the original with Tommy Körberg;P

  • Shivers down my back.. Cant't get the tune out of my head! Best version I have heard.

  • WOW!!

What a truly amazing performance. I thought Michael Ball was the best; i never thought i would say this, but i think you have been out-performed Michael.

Congrats to James and Katherine for a truly remarkable performance! Xx

  • please drop a comment on my version of anthem thx..

  • Wow! Colour me impressed. He really did the song justice.

  • ive sung this song with my friend as a 2 soprano pair and still get goosebumps everytime i sing or hear it!

  • I used to live in outide the UK for six years (America.) Although living somewhere else I never left England. You can take the man out of Britain but you can't take the Britain out of the man. When I heard this sung at the Festival of Rememberance. I cryed my eyes out.

    Tom

  • Absolutely amazing! Both fantastic singers!!!

  • Words can't describe how good this is - a terrific performance of (and I'm not saying this lightly) my favourite song from a musical, ever. Thank you for posting.

  • This song should really be sung the original way - high-ish male lead with power and a fantastic male choir behind it.

  • actually i feel that Katherine made the finale grander...although she drowned out his voice

  • i was there at the Albert hall when this happened

  • this is one of my favourite songs EVER, it really is epic. Tommy Körberg is the master of it of course...

  • Ditto about Tommy. That recording from the documentary is available here too.

  • absolutely brilliant!

  • WOW!

I missed this when it was on.

His voice is amazing...He has improved so much.

  • Always wonderful to hear Katherine.

  • i love this song and the musical chess. great orchestration. great fox

  • What good video this is thanks for uploading it colin26colin I dissagree with you there this was good with Katherine jeckins came on it did not alter it at all.

  • This is one of the truly GREAT musical theatre songs of all time. The choir and the arrangement here are fantastic. Love the song, love the interpretation.

  • Thank you for postingn - I had not seen this before and did not know it was performed at the Remembrance Festival. A nice performance.

  • Beautiful arrangement - i loved the choir and think James Fox did a great job using the best he had - shame they made it a duet though, initially thought that was a good idea but when Katherine joined i think her opera rechnique does not lend well to this song - its a "gutsy" song and she is better suited to things more purer in tone and interpretation - or thats my opinion anyway! all in all, nice to hear a new version and arrangement of an old classic!

  • I agree. I think James should've been left to sing it on his own

  • I totally agree with you...this song is NOT a duet and is more powerful with a male singing it...and she was drowning out James
