  • Ass to grass= disease to the knees.... no reason to go past parallel; unless you want to have your kneecaps replaced surgically.

  • squatting to grass should be used temporary cause then your glutes work too n sometimes during contest prep I see guys with huge butt and small but well separated quads. IMO

  • squatting in a smithmachine with a neckpad = girly

  • @femfireto Dude when you have like 315 pounds on your back you need the neckbad or your traps feel like they're gunna pop lol I don't know how anyone can squat heavy and not wear a neckpad cause the bar kills my traps/neck when I don't wear one. Just my opinion though.

  • hey dude, you have nice biceps but you should really work on triceps a lot more. triceps are what makes the arms look, firstly, proportional, and secondly, big. just some friendly advice.

  • quads are definately your best bodypart but you really have to work on those triceps! bi's are decent, but your triceps are lacking mass. i'd recommend focusing on the long head, to get that round sweep to match the shape of the biceps.

  • Hey luimarco, got a quite important question for you, the method ur doing squat on the machine is deep squats right,? i can see that the movement of the squat is just about the same as hack squats(except its inclined), so personally, would u recommend people to subsitute this workout with hack squats if they want to?

  • @gangkapak hack squats pretty similar altho i fel some pressure on my knees when i do hack squats. i can squat 130kg normal squats but struggle with 10 kg on hacks

  • @mnoy91 15 - 20 reps, always more for quads BUT heavier weights. So in order to complete 20 reps with heavier weights, you should implement the Rest Pause technique.

  • As far as I can see that's not really ass-to-grass at all. That's just about deep enough for a regular squat though. I'm pretty sure you need to go far below parallel to call it atg. How come you do your squats in the smith by the way?

  • @ObliquusExternus cause it targets more the quads in my case, 90% of guys are not mechanically geared for free squats just like Arnold, he was never able to do them well. if you have the same ratios as Tom platz then yes you can

    Btw Marco, 3 day split? You are putting yourself short man. You are definitely under estimating human potential for frequency of training tolerance. Look at russian weightlifters they train everyday for hours morning and evening.

  • not taking the piss.. but why smith machine squats, why not do real squats? :)

  • @dominatingthis For loads of reasons, a) he doesn't need a spotter. B) He can go really deep. C) He may not have the correct leg to body height ratio to do normal squats without hurting his back. Tom Platz (famous for his legs) could get the most from squats because he had short legs whilst tall guys tend to hurt their back

  • @OrodrethAmandil92 you got it all Right ;) just like Arnold was not able to go down. his Torso/Legs ratio was not suitable for that!

  • @dominatingthis cause as i said it in several video, not everybody is geared to do them mechanically good! unless you're built like Tom Platz ( short legs) you'll end up doing them like good morning by bringing your torso way up front ( like arnold was doing them wrong) so for most of us the smith is the way to go.

  • @luimarco oh okay fair enough, I've only really started watching your vids and just wanted to know why :), I myself been working out for a bit over a year and I pretty much do 0 smith machine exercises, I probably don't have the best form in the world but I just figured atleast I'm getting a full compound exercise + I found smith uncomfortable + do you really get full range of motion? even though you're going "DEEP"... each to their own though just my opinion.

  • The best way to work out your legs is to squat light weight for about 15-20 no drop sets. 5 reps and take it slow. That what I do and my legs and ass are firm as hell

  • @ceecobeehan only few guys can do the Free squats perfectly in my opinion , if you're built like Tom Platz with short legs then it is mechanically efficient for you to do free squats. the rest of us are better of the smith machine in my humble opinion
