This was Yngwie's best period. After Trilogy he was never like this again. Some say it was the car crash, others say it was the weight problems. He was still a great guitarist on Odyssey and still is today, but not as great as he was here.

When I see Yngwie's early performances with Alcatrazz (where he's 21 at the oldest) it's a bit sad. He's so much tighter, and playing WITH the songs rather than against them. Yngwie claimed his share of popularity and acclaim in his heyday, but he could have been so much more.

I think if he'd stayed within bands, and resisted going solo he could have been another Van Halen. Whether he would have been happy taking that route is another question.
