I'm sorry, but in ways, I consider the new one realized in 2008 was a little superior than the one in 2007. This is just because It's good for beginners, and that it's still pretty much the same as this.
Oh no! Casuals! How can a game that is not aimed at a wider audience be successful without targeting the casual gamer? Would you rather Maxis made a game for a few hard-core gamers and was then dissolved by E.A for poor sales?
Really, EA is going to dissolve because the game MIGHT just lose a few buyers. I don't know if you're aware of this, but EA sells a crap loaf of Madden, Need for Speed and other casual games to compensate for what might make them dissolve. If Maxis made a purer game, it would have shown their true skills as game designers.
You're buggin, this game is going to be the best thing to hit the PC in a long time. Who cares if the graphics are a little exaggerated...well besides you ;)
Update February 12, 2008 - EA Games has announced "Spore" will be released September 2008. The life sim will be available in stores in the "weekend of September 7th," according to EA's press release.
