  • i love how you started the video with that beautiful shot of jerry lee taken by the Memphis Police Dept. that i bought off of a corrupt MPD cop in 1994 and sold to the National Enquirer, i think it works seamlessly in this beautiful pig harden keyboard song about middle age decline

  • Im holding on as hard as i can! 2 days to go and the Big 40! Where has all the time gone?

  • @tiredlawdog if you don't nice things to say then why say them??? The Killer is a music god.Have a nice life

  • Reminds me of listening to the radio when I was a kid. This was a big song. Classic now, I guess. Damn it's hell getting old. lol!

  • Anything to make you feel young again this song says it all

  • beautiful song. legendary

  • jerry lee for the country music hall of fame

  • I've always loved this song. I was 5 years old when this song came out, and when I hear it, I remember playing in our living room and hearing this song on the radio. I'm 39 now and the song has more and more meaning to me.

  • @BIBLEBOB 39 and holding lol

  • 50'salltheway.....why do you use the mugshot of Jerry Lewis for this song? LOL!

  • @doctorofghetto2 Why should I NOT? LOL!

  • @50sAllTheWay -- Because he looks middle-aged and CRAZY. And we love him, no matter what!!!!!

  • @50sAllTheWay do you know what he was arrested for in this one? =D

  • @doctorofghetto2 Because when your that good you just can.........

  • @doctorofghetto2 If you knew Jerry, you'd know why!!!

  • Jerry Lee has a good voice for country, and the boogie woogie that he's most famous for, long live The Killer

  • Great song and I definitely relate to the 40 going on 20 just ask friends and family

  • all about middle age crisis this guy is 40 today but feels 20 the girl with him understands she is a bit of fresh s the wife goes on the back burner we have all been there good record done by jerry lee who wrote it ??? please post if you know

  • Seen him live, loved him from the 50's true to his rock 'n' roll roots, thanks Jerry for all the pleasure you have given me, seen you live but loved to have met you, there's still hope.

  • This is my favorite Jerry Lee song... a lot of people don't know this, but they turned this into a movie starrning Bruce Dern and Ann Margret. Out of print and hard to find. I found a copy on VHS a few years ago on Ebay.

  • THIS IS JEERY LEE AT HIS BEST. HIS PERSONAL REPT DID A LOT OF DAMAGE IN HIS EARLY DAY'S. A SHAME FOR SUCH A GREAT ARTIST.

  • you can't see the grey in his hair because he dyed it!!! Geezzz, do I have to explain everyrthing to you

  • in my opinion this is 1 of his best songs.good song

  • ummm... who is this???

  • @Bangsimoninn First of all read the title. Then see that all of the related movies are movies by the one mentioned in the title of this movie. Then try to think over it.

  • @50sAllTheWay ok... done... who is it?

  • @50sAllTheWay

Maybe he was just wondering about jerry's life and carrer. you dont have to be a dick.....

  • @zzpatrick1 What comment is that an answer to? you dont have to be a dick either, pal.......

  • @50sAllTheWay

    Bangsimoninn's comment!

  • @50sAllTheWay My guess, I think he was talking about the guy in the video.

  • @Tony955555 Another excelent question. Use my last comment's tips and do the same thing as I instructed. Then try to link the to answers. You'll get the answer then.

  • @50sAllTheWay It wasn't a question at all.

  • @Tony955555 You said that it might be what his question was about. So yes, then it was a question.

  • @50sAllTheWay Uh, no.

  • @Bangsimoninn Great Balls of Fire!

  • @DoubledUpIrish what lol O.o xD

  • Jerry Lee...he was one hell of a jammin mother fucker

    Peace

    Doc

  • great singer

  • My favorite of all Jerry's many hits. Easy listening at my age.

  • Seriously? Really? There were 4 total idiots that disliked this song? World's going to hell I tell ya...

  • Great song! Wonder how many men feel this, even if they never act on it?

  • you know I was thinking when the old SUN records guys were touring together,Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins Roy Orbison, Elvis, and Jerry Lee Lewis...Did any of them think the wild kid from Louisiana would be the last one of them still standing so to speak ???

  • @notaclerk1 Its not shocking at all. Badasses like Jerry Lee dont die easy...

  • @notaclerk1 Elvis never toured with Jerry Lee.

  • @hillbillycat64 no I just included him because they knew each other and started out as Sun record folks. the point I am sure that of that group they did not expect him to be the last, because of the life he led . should I explain the ABC'S to you or are you just incapeable of reading between the lines or understanding the main subject of a statement?

  • Just get your facts right...if you know nothing say nothing.....read between my fucking lines ok?

  • @hillbillycat64 not according to the Elvis movie.

  • Elvis and Jerry lee never toured together......and thats a fact....never....Elvis left Sun well before Jerry lee joined.....never mind any movie.......its called poetic licence, they make shit up.

  • the music is so beautiful in this song!

  • mid-life crisis-act on it-you lose it all-ask yourself-is it worth it-will you be longing for what you had yesterday tommorow?

  • The lyrics, "you can't see any grey in his hair" is because he dyes it! He's trying to stay/look young! Don't you people get it?

  • I wonder if any of you in America realise what you have....this is most gifted artist of all time...it seems us in europe adore him and appreciate him more than you do....you dont know what you have till its gone......cherish him while he is still here.

    Doug.

    Scotland.

  • @hillbillycat64 Unfortunately Doug that's a sad fact here in the States and few will take yer advice. But some of us DO respect this man because everything began with Elvis, Jerry and Johnny in that small Sun Records studio in Memphis.

  • @hillbillycat64 maybe if ur talking about in the 60's....but today man everybody likes him!

  • classic song...and great pics...taken after jerry was arrested drunk outside graceland waving a gun in the air and treatening tom either save elvis from himself or send him to his maker...elvis was away on tour at the time but would be dead less than a year later

  • Middle-aged crazies -- Recognize it, accept it, forget it!

  • Wonderful. Glad he didn't waste his years on religion like his brother. This is country the way it should be.

  • -medley* of Lewis + Elmore James

    see you tube

Shake Your Money Maker - Elmore James cover

  • im 32 and i feel every bit of this song.. this has become my new fav song.....

  • 3 people are in their middle age crazy stage

  • @gamer9302 yeah lol

  • only song I ever liked by him--but I love it. Shows his true voice.

  • @youlikepopsicles lol you are joking yes

  • He's 42 years old in this mug shot, middle aged.

    great song from the killer.

  • watch-out for middle age crazy.. when it hits grab it, on and hold on tight...for it's a short ride

  • @brad04970 - You couldn't be more correct. I turned 40 just over six years ago and they were the shortest six years imaginable. I'm pretty much living the song word for word. The thrill was all gone, so I'm now with a 28 year old. When does the crazy go away? Maybe when the gray hair comes, I suppose.

  • Yep, that's the photo of Jerry Lee being a middle aged crazy.

  • where was this recorded? anybody know?

  • this is great....i turn 40 this summer and just happened upon this.

  • Jerry Lee is always in my heart, cause he's never tired for life and rock and roll! LOVE YOU KILLER!

  • "get er' did" jerry lee

  • He colors his hair to keep from looking older. :o)

  • i get it now, i've 45

this intro sounds a little like "husbands and wives" by roger miller.

  • have you ever heard 39 and hold'in? its cute too

  • @suzeywerneth I have heared it yes, but can't seem to remember much of it. I have heard most of JLL's songs, but it's a couple'a years ago, so I don't remember all of them.

  • I always wondered about the line, DON'T LOOK FOR THE GRAY IN HIS CAUSE HE AINT GOT ANY, is that hair he's missing or gray? LOL. I'm pretty sure it's gray but then again.....

  • @suzeywerneth I think he meens what he says somehow; He doesn't have any gray hair.

Or he maybe he meens that his hair is turning gray, but still he doesn't feel like.

  • @50sAllTheWay I think line in the song means that he has his hair dyed--so he doesn't have any gray in his hair anymore. . . .

  • @50sAllTheWay Jerry Lee has gray hair now!

  • @suzeywerneth I think that he is dying his hair, so that it does not look gray.

  • @suzeywerneth I think that he is dying his hair, so that it does not look gray.

  • @suzeywerneth he washed out the gray just like he washed out being 40...

  • @suzeywerneth I assumed it meant that he'd dyed any gray hair he might have had in order to look and feel younger.

  • @suzeywerneth -it means it was gray, but he colored to try and stay young looking.

  • @suzeywerneth hes just going thru male menopause. Pretty much all men go thru this, "trying to prove he still can. '

  • I wish I was born in the 70's and I also wish they had internet back then! I'm ashamed of the music 'my' generation produces.

  • @mrjoeri i know. crap like lady gaga and whoever else there is just nasty. classics like jerry lee lewis and BB King need to be more appreciated.

  • Didn't they make a late 70's or early 80's movie based on this song that starred Bruce Dern??? THANKS for posting this classic tune! What an incredibly one of a kind and unique talent Jerry Lee is!!! :)

  • love this song, and i can see where he is coming from@42

  • AH..I was born in 77' hell of a time hey.

  • what guy in his 40's or 50's can't relate to this ?

  • @knoxcountykyman1 You are totally right, because I do.

  • middle age crazy the all time great Jerry Lee Lewis

  • One Rolling Stone music critic called him arguably the greatest country singer of all time. I'm not sure he was wrong! (Patsy being the best woman country singer)

  • @spsmonktoo I completley agree.

  • wow, I get it now ..... middle aged crazy

  • Possibly the greatest song ever done especially now that I am 45 years old. But I loved it as a child when my parents played it. I wonder if they thought of it the same then as I do now!!!!

  • There aint guna be another Jerry Lee - he was the best.

  • @1bridlington THANK GOD

  • What is so wacky is that he looks like his cousin, Jimmy Swaggart. They could pass as brothers! His nose (from the side view) is Jimmy's!! Kind of weird...

  • This has to be one of the best songs that Jerry ever sang. I was so young when this song came out, could not relate to it then. But now @ 50...I understand it so well.

  • I always thought that Jerry Lee was a better piano player than a singer......Well i was wrong......He is an excellent vocalist.....A real talent

  • 1st time i herd this i was with my dad an he played it like 5times ha ha great song

  • The "WILD MAN" comes around.

  • dear lord, time has flown.i'm past middle age, still crazy,,, hang in there jerry lee

  • Jerry you are still the KILLER and what a great song, It's was good back then and is still good today, long live JERRY LEE LEWIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have a couple of photos like this on file somewhere. It's no big deal.

  • I dont think theres a guy over 40 that cant relate to this song. Jerry lee was always a bad boy, but he was truly one of the kings of Rock.

  • @MegaBob77777

I am 39 years old and I can relate! This has always been a great song!

  • Love this tune. I think I can relate. LOL

  • Male Menopause. It does happen. Us older men do feel rejected. We do feel of no use. So we have to prove our self worth. We do it by being a little bit crasy. Thus this song. Listen closely to the words. Then make your judgement.

  • simply awesome, goota love a bad guy getting in touch with his softer side just love the lyrics, music melody everything go jerry go

  • this is a killer song done by the killer just don't make them like that anymore

keep on killer, he is the last man standing!

  • @My2008Cj U said it man!!!!!

  • Sam Phillips should have given you a beatin' in 1958, for wrecking your career and SUN records you took so much from your fans for being so dam stupid.

  • @sunrecords56 Um you got a chip on shoulder? it's 2010 Jerry has a new album in the top 10 rock album. If that's a ruined career there is a lot of ruined careers around then.

  • thanks for posting this song

I like it a lot I was born in 73"

  • jerrry talk to me now trust me

  • This is "THE KILLER" at his very best. Thanks for posting!!!! Can definitely relate to this.

  • This is "THE KILLER" at his very best!!!! Can definitly relate to this!!!

  • Hope you all get to see the movie with the same name. Bruce Dern does a bit at his kids graduation that's the funniest thing I ever saw. And sadly, true too. It's on YouTube over on the right side of this page. Scroll down.

  • This song reminds me of my dad everytime I hear it.. He always said he would never get old, and that he would stay young. Well he almost drank himself to death before he stopped trying to be "young" and running to keep up with his youth. This song reminds me of those times that are vivid in my mind...thanks dad for alowing yourself to get "old" before it was too late.

  • CLASSIC

  • @niggaT42000

    So True

  • This song has continually impressed me year after year. It's true too!

  • The title tune from a pretty good movie with Bruce Dern and Ann Margret that needs to be out on DVD! Anyone?

  • Such a great song. As I grow older I like him more. go figure!

  • Heard the song as a kid. My mother used to listen to it. Now that it apply's to me. What a great song. I liked it then, and I like it now. Full circle is what they call it I think.

  • Awesome, thanks for posting! Jerry is the toughest, coolest SOB in rock and roll.

  • love it love it

  • lol now yall know thats wrong why would yall put a mugshot picture up on here?!!! lol smh

  • He is the best, and I thank God we have had his music

  • my good friend and someone i look up to Sonny Throckmorton wrote this . Along so many other hits as well

  • @Lilearlsinks

    .

Wow, he's one heck of a songwriter. Please give him my regards.

    .

  • This is a damn good song, makes me want to drink a few Bud Lights.

  • Middle aged crazy and more!

  • If Lennon believed life began at 40...he lived three months!

  • Great classic song Thos who only JLL for his rocknroll songs are surely missing something.

  • one of the best song

  • I can't believe they made a movie out of the words to this song, but they did. And the part about HS graduation by Bruce Dern is RIGHT ON, especially today. I love this song. I'm l64, and as

tomthefunky said, I wouldn't go back for nuthin'. You can have "young and dumb and full of cum". Once you turn 40, you begin to get a grasp of what life is REALLY about. And it's not about sagging your pants, swaggering around trying to be cool, being belligerent, or not working.

  • Always loves this song. Aside from his early music I really enjoy his 70's country stuff.

Middle Aged Crazy, No More Haning On, No Traffic Out of Abilene. Yah man...

Wish I could find the last two on here somewhere...

  • Well, I'm 38 and I wouldn't go back to my teens or twenties if I could. Too much insecurity worrying about my future. No money. Nagging parents. No, I'm way happier now. As John Lennon sang "life begins at forty". I say hell, yeah!!!

  • John Lennon said life begins at forty? Didn't he die at forty? He didn't live long!

  • I find the whole album fantastic. I have used it to the hilt, 79-81

  • I don't care. I liked his music. Been a fan since 1956. He's had his ups and downs. So have the rest of us. Life is about ups and downs.

  • @Gitfidlpickr amen brother been a fan since i was listing to this in the craddle around 1987 thank god for gran
