My brother is afraid of worms, as in afraid enough to run away screaming and cower in the corner if I chase him with a worm, but not afraid enough to run away at videos/pictures of worms. Either way it's HILARIOUS to exploit people's phobias.

When they got up on stage and sat down, he started to begin his "act", than he turned to the girls, his back to the audience, and whispered, "do everything I tell you will each be given $50". Its true I swear! They made his act a living hell :)

Basking sharks are totally harmless to humans, but they look like monsters! I had nightmares about being underwater & getting swallowed by one when I was a kid. 8(

And once, when we were at the beach, this poor lizard got stranded in my aunt's house, my aunts were screaming their heads off and my uncle look livid. I was the only brave and able enough top put the lizard back on a tree away from everyone... -w-U stupid women, but I do understand my uncle.

my theory about this show is they took people with a basic phobia of something, hypnotized them to be really afraid of them, and brung them on stage and then had the hypnotyse "cure" them, unhypnotyse them, i could be wrong
i have a fear of people, not like they are going to beat me up or anything, i cant trust anyone, and i cant have anyone touching me on the shoulder or anything, i have this fear from something that happened to me from the past event, how can i overcome this fear, i need to know.
What's really odd, though, is that I have less of a problem sitting. For instance, if I were standing in front of a bench, I'd be constantly moving my feet. But, if I were sitting on the bench, I'd pretty much be fine.
If I'm sitting on the ground, though, I'll look around for them.
I also have a case of 'fear itself' in that I try to avoid situations that I am certain to encounter them, not because I'm afraid (because, as I've mentioned, I'm not 'actually' afraid), but because I don't want to feel the fear.
This phobia definitely interferes with my life. Ants are abundant and therefore extremely difficult to avoid. It's gotten to where when I'm outside, I can't even stand in one place for any period of time. I constantly move my feet if I'm not going somewhere...
On another note, I myself have a phobia. My phobia is particularly irrational in that I'm not 'actually' afraid of the object of my phobia, i.e. ants. It's very difficult to explain and people tend to simply not believe me when I try...
In any case, I've never had any traumatic experiences with them. As a matter of fact, I can clearly remember 'not' being afraid of them all the way up and through middle school, but it has gotten worse since then.
To be honest, this seems incredibly fake to me. The frog lady's reaction in particular seemed entirely too over-the-top to be real. And, I'm not sure how much I can believe that a brief hypnotherapy session resulted in some kind of miracle cure. I'm assuming, of course, that the hypnosis took place over the course of the show.

Boris, here is one you may not have heard. I have a pronounced blood sugar disorder that can result in severe panic attacks. Thus my fear is quite literally--fear itself. (Or, more accurately, the fear of losing control to that overwhelming anxiety.) Have you ever helped anyone with a similar problem?

I'm twelve and I have a phobia of the dark. I know there's nothing there but it's just creepy. I have the feeling some one or something is watching me. I don't even beileve in ghosts, monsters, or any of that crap. I hate it!

@BlanketGirly11 - You are so lucky! I am entirely afraid of any type of bug (save ladybugs and butterflies), but if I see a spider somewhere I wont return to that area for hours at a time. I hate being afraid of bugs, because of the role they play in everyday life but I jut can't help it!

hey, is there anyway i can help myself get over my fear of spiders. im terrified of them and just the thought of them makes my skin crawl. what scares me the most is not knowing if theyre nearby or not. i know when i was younger my sister used to throw them at me, and a few years later i was playing outside and i found a big orange one in my hair, and since then ive been deathly terrified of them,

my theory about this show is they took people with a basic phobia of something, hypnotized them to be really afraid of them, and brung them on stage and then had the hypnotyse "cure" them, unhypnotyse them, i could be wrong

i have a fear of people, not like they are going to beat me up or anything, i cant trust anyone, and i cant have anyone touching me on the shoulder or anything, i have this fear from something that happened to me from the past event, how can i overcome this fear, i need to know.

What's really odd, though, is that I have less of a problem sitting. For instance, if I were standing in front of a bench, I'd be constantly moving my feet. But, if I were sitting on the bench, I'd pretty much be fine.
If I'm sitting on the ground, though, I'll look around for them.
It really doesn't make any sense.

I also have a case of 'fear itself' in that I try to avoid situations that I am certain to encounter them, not because I'm afraid (because, as I've mentioned, I'm not 'actually' afraid), but because I don't want to feel the fear.
This phobia definitely interferes with my life. Ants are abundant and therefore extremely difficult to avoid. It's gotten to where when I'm outside, I can't even stand in one place for any period of time. I constantly move my feet if I'm not going somewhere...

On another note, I myself have a phobia. My phobia is particularly irrational in that I'm not 'actually' afraid of the object of my phobia, i.e. ants. It's very difficult to explain and people tend to simply not believe me when I try...
In any case, I've never had any traumatic experiences with them. As a matter of fact, I can clearly remember 'not' being afraid of them all the way up and through middle school, but it has gotten worse since then.

To be honest, this seems incredibly fake to me. The frog lady's reaction in particular seemed entirely too over-the-top to be real. And, I'm not sure how much I can believe that a brief hypnotherapy session resulted in some kind of miracle cure. I'm assuming, of course, that the hypnosis took place over the course of the show.

Obviously, I didn't see the whole episode. But, I mean, was it like, hypnotherapy and then POOF! no phobia? I'm having difficulty believing that.

Boris, here is one you may not have heard. I have a pronounced blood sugar disorder that can result in severe panic attacks. Thus my fear is quite literally--fear itself. (Or, more accurately, the fear of losing control to that overwhelming anxiety.) Have you ever helped anyone with a similar problem?

Fears stem from an irrational misinterpretation of the situation or simply a natural attempt at self-preservation. The approach is the same and is extremely effective.
