  • Nice "YouTube" chopping board!

  • Aussie when are you gonna invite us?

  • I like the ideea how to cook the potatoes! I'll try that!

  • This looks delicious! I love how you separated the rind - I'll have to try that :)

  • holy shit that looks good

  • You do realize of course that if I ever get to Australia I am not staying in a hotel! I will be staying with you guys and eating all of your food! Yup! Sounds about right to me! Yup! You guys have a killer Christmas and a Happy New Year! Cheers!

  • What was the wire in the pork for?

  • @stylemesweet thats to measure the temp inside the pork so you know when you take it out.

  • @stylemesweet Yep as mentioned below it's a temperature probe for a wireless meat thermometer :)

  • The rind looks like bread!

  • I never thought of having the fat on top separated... you impress me!

  • @PlatypusGuitar Thanks buddy, it's just to keep the moisture out of it, moisture is the biggest killer of crackling, and you can't have roast pork without crackling :)

  • Awesome! Someone has been doing their homework -- the new angles and lighting look great :) -- and so does the roast and potatoes!

  • @averagebetty hehe, thanks Sara :)

  • yummy :) happy holidays 2 all

  • @Silkymits2000 Yep serve it with all the sides you want, the vid was more of a couple of elements of a meal than the full deal. I really should've thrown more things on the plate at the end :)

  • Do you clean the grill everytime you finish using it?

We just bought our first charcoal BBQ from bunnings and would like some advice on maintenance tips

  • @chukatsung Hi mate, for the charcoal bbq I generally just give it a bit of a scrape with a stainless steel grill brush when it's still hot, you can dip the brush in water before brushing also. I don't clean it as vigorously as the gas bbq because it gets much hotter and can burn off the nasties better. I usually leave it for 10-15 minutes with the lid down before cooking to burn off anything that's left after brushing it.

  • awesome! where'd you get the "youtube" cutting board? nice cast iron grates (craycourt). love that you're using charcoal.

  • @amatureBBQer Love the grates mate, they're about the best upgrade I can think of :) The YouTube cutting board was sent to me by YouTube as part of the Next Chef Program :)

  • OMG thats awesome...

  • @Reddylion Cheers mate :)

  • Yummm!!!

  • @jrand33 Thanks!

  • what a brine! beautiful!

  • @tonehawke Cheers mate :)

  • Just some notes on the new format from someone who's been secretly watching for a while...

Short intro works much better. Intros generally just piss people off. Fade the fire crackling sound effect to about 30% when you start speaking.

Move the little info/ad bar down to be about 30-50px from the bottom of the video. Being just a little bit below the middle is jarring. Also reconsider the gradient you're using as well as the font.

I like the subtle use of cam audio in the background.

  • @LilPloppers Thanks for your thoughts mate :)

  • omfg the rind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
