The laser is *absolutely* worth the money. If you don't have one on your CCW pistol, or your primary home defense handgun, stop what you are doing right now and order a crimson trace (or other) laser for it. When under stress, all you will see is the threat -- not front sight, not rear sights, nothing else. But you will recognize that red laser dancing on the badguy's chest. Also in low light (unless you have nightsights), the laser is also great. A must have!
Watching closeup as you pulled the trigger out showed the trigger being jerked. Compressing by aiming to the right is one solution but a risky one at that. Trigger control is the key to fixing it, as you pull, stay on target, but just because the sight is where you want it you can't just slam the trigger back, its like playing whack a mole that way.
It's not that the gun is inaccurate. The laser shows that he has to practice a lot more. Notice that the laser is on target, then when it gets close to firing, it jumps off to the left. Classic trigger discipline issue. Not that most people don't need to correct this. Plus, it may just be a really difficult trigger to work with
@noname000009ify Trigger discipline is not putting your finger on the trigger until resolute about firing on a target. What I think you were intending to say was that he was clearly flinching a bit and also twisting his hold on the gun right at the break.
One thing that helped me with mine was the Hogue Handall Jr. grip sleeve. MUCH more pleasant to shoot now in my opinion. I can get a much better purchase on it and the trigger guard no longer slaps my trigger finger when firing. You'll have to trim it down for it to fit, but otherwise an easy upgrade.
@MacTeutates the trigger pull is about a mile long and is rough at the point of release. by the end of the day I was getting more used to it. after I realized I was pulling left as I squeezed off the round, I moved to the right. this put the shots in the black. at the end when I shoot the cans off of the logs I finally overcame the crappy trigger and was able to hold on target. It does take some getting used to.
nice vid on a nice pistol ( have heard that the trigger travel is loooong) good shooting to btw, cheers for sharing best wishes for the New Year stay safe.
Would have been nice to have a laser bore sight for 380 and match the two lasers, I don't even know if that could be done but it would be more efficient than eye sighting, awesome shooting for such a little gun looked fun
Thats a really good looking LCP... I been thinking about getting the crimson laser for a long time. Its a terriable range gun tho and its not fun to shoot... my opinion
I'm still glad I purchased this gun, but man do I hate shooting it. Great to carry, but I have since moved on to a glock 27 and although its more problematic to carry, I feel much safer with the drastically improved accuracy, more rounds and most importantly the 40 caliber cartridge. Of course LCP is better than no gun at all, but whenever possible I carry my glock 27.
How bout the holster

Looks like you did good aiming with the sights to hit the cans. Is the laser really worth the money?
