I wish they could do something with this version of the movie. There are scenes where you can see that the blob was put on top of the film. I know I'm not making scenes but I don't know the technical terms for this. I'm sure people who've seen the movie will know what I'm talking about. I just wanted to know if this problem can be fixed or not. Thanks.

This was another example (like John Carpenter's The Thing) where the remake was far superior to the original 50's version. To bad remakes of today don't fair anywhere near as well as 80's remakes seemed to.

Oh and this movie desperately needs a sweet tricked out bluray special edition release. I was hoping back in 2008 they would see fit to give it a 20th anniversary edition bluray release, but alas, obviously they did not. Still hoping a bluray release is in the cards though and soon!

i know this is a remake of the 1950's Blob, but the reason i hate films like this is they exaggerate the gore/violence so much it pisses me off. The Thing was one of the best examples of extreme gore that made sense and was realistic to a point.

All n all, this film blows ass Go watch The Thing, Alien or something thats actually good

@Colton5 Their making a prequel to The Thing this year sometime i hope it's good and they don't go too heavy on the CG effects to hold the movie together. I hope it has a good story like the first one, and the same kind of shocking gore and practical effects that made my skin crawl. That scene where the redhead guy is being chased outdoors because he was an alien disguised as a human, then he turns around and let's out that awful creepy howl still creeps me out. The Thing = Classic Horror Film

I think they're much better. A movie being old doesn't make it a classic. Not many classics ever had a decent story, and the business has only gone in the direction they were aiming for with their movies, back in the day. I much prefer a cinematic experience to a regular, every day movie when I go to the theater. Avatar, 2012 etc. are great for providing just that. This movie though, is old, and fails at having a good story, as well as being cinematic.

i have to disagree with you. it might be true that simply a movie being old doesn't make it good, but seriously, Avatar? one of the worst films i have ever seen. i give it a 9/10 for visual effects and sound, but plot? 1/10. It was so unoriginal i wish i could just smash my head open. you could tell what was going to happen from the start. 2012 was way too dramatized and had many flaws to it.
