I am a norwegian, and every time we go on vacation, we get surprised over how little bread everyone eats! We eat bread for breakfast, lunch and supper useally... with cheese and meat on of course, but thats it
For me Quark isn't cheese, because Quark taste different to cheese. Cheese is hart, but Quark is like cream. In cheese you put special milkbacteries and you matue this cheese for few years and let do the work of bacteries in the cheese. Quark you put milkbacteries oo, but you don't ripen it!
@lofosus in this video quark looks like cream but it usually is not creamy (unless you add cream), generally we have hard and soft cheese, often for production hard cheese we use rennet not bacteries, and for quark you don't need to add bacteries they are there, that's becuse you probably can not make that cheese in every part of the world (naturally) - different bacteries
The Grman eats more Quark than the Swiss, because we eat more cheese. So we have less time to eat Quark, although we do eat Quark. Quark is delicious, too.
Is it me, or is Germany America's strongest ally? Because every once and a while I look at some tragic videos of our country to help me pay my respects, and whenever I see a comment from someone from another country saying how tragic it was, they're usually from Germany. Like on this one, watch?v=eCuuEJK5crM there are a lot of comments from Germany saying how horrible it was. And it was horrible :(
I'm an American, and I have seen the Nutella every once and a while. And let me just say that it is really good, great for putting on a slice of bread, a treat, almost anything you can come up with. It's great to see that Americans can go to someone outside of our country and talk to without having to fear of being insulted so much.
Awesome to see you guys back on deck missed you so much! Hey I wish I would know how to make Quark I miss that stuff her Down-Under and there is no way to get it. Find out and shoot a video! Otherwise: keep on rolling.
I would say it depends on the type of Quark (= "curd cheese"). "Magerquark" is very sour, which is why it can be used to make certain types of bread without using yeast. I think Alex is refering to "Sahnequark", which has more cream than actual Quark. I miss Quark. There's nothing like German cheesecake made with Quark. :)
@1029blue Quark is also very popular in other countries, it's often basic of my breakfast, I looks that they've never heard about it, don't they have cheesecake in the US???
@MsAppleeater American cheesecake is completely different. It's made with cream cheese. I've never had it, so I wouldn't know what it tastes like, but I'm a big fan of German cheesecake. :) I've tried to substitute the Quark with a mix of sour cream and ricotta and it came out "okay" but it wasn't perfect.
@MsAppleeater Yeah, I know. I found a whole bunch of recipes for it. I just think it's too much of a hassle and too expensive (at least, if one uses buttermilk, as suggested in some recipes).
Kobe Bryant was a paid spokesman for Nutella until he was accused of rape, his picture was on the jar until........2002? up until the time he confessed that he "had sex" with the accuser.
How fckin' great is that? Mainz is my home town and the last few weeks I missed it pretty much. (I live in Dublin at the moment). So it's grand to see 'my' town in your show.
Vielen Dank :) I hope you enjoyed it over there =)
Nutella is big in the US in all of the major cities. When if first became popular you could only really find it at Farmer's Markets with International influence.
in germany it's used for cheese cake. So maybe you should have gotten the stuff americans use for cheese cake, to make your eeer thing taste like Quark Alex ^_~
