Oh and for all the Scottish, Northern Irish and Welsh people that keep talking about independence now etc. Most of the money your governments receive is from England, it supports all of your countries. Rockall belongs to the Scottish Highland's, not Ireland, not england. It's nearer St Kilda than Donegal.
The Highlands went through famine at the hands of the english and lowland scots, our language and culture banned. Cleared from homes. I just wish that people realised the extent of what happened to the Highlands, its not just Ireland which suffered at the hands of the English.

The Highlands and Islands are a completely different entity from the lowlands and central belt where the majority of the loyalist population lives. The Highlands has its own gaelic culture and language which defines it from the rest of Scotland. The landlords who cleared the Highlanders off their crofts were mostly of Highland descent (they were descended from the old Clan Chiefs in fact), although some of them were English e.g. the Duke of Sutherland, husband of the Duchess of Sutherland, a Gael. There were clearances in the Lowlands, England, Wales & Ireland. The difference is that in the Highlands, most of Ireland, some of the Borders & Northern & South Western

One thing I would say in favour of The Wolfe Tones is at least they all still live in Ireland. Most Irish people who hate Britain voluntarily move there then spend all their time going on about how awful Britain is and how wonderful Ireland is (the place they chose to leave) and going on about how terrible it is that Irish folk have to live under a Brit Government in the North (something they themselves have CHOSEN to do!).
