@marcusos1111....Every soldier has to qualify on either the M4 Carbine or the M16A2 Rifle before advancing to AIT, just like the Marine Corps. Also if you are saying a Marine Corps chef can out shoot a Army chef then you are incorrect. The Marine Corps does not have a MOS for Food Specialist or as you refer to them, Chef. The Marine Corps uses Navy personel for Religious Service and Food Services. How in any way shape or form is a Marine better then a Soldier, or a Soldier better then a Marine?
@marcusos1111 i respectfully disagree, if anyone is planning on going infantry, go Army infantry because if im not mistaken when you graduate infantry from marines....thats it.....at least in the army you have the option of becoming the best infantry you can be by becoming an Army Ranger, i dont think the marines has an elite infantry force, i think they just have infantry. @DevinChief My Drill Sergeants were some of the most intense men you could dream up. From 0 Week to Week 16 they constanly kept the temp up 100% of the time. Just because some Army Drill Sergeants are less intense and professional does not reflect on the other Drill Sergeants.

My name is SSG Duke (Army Retired) I have taken Basic Training twice! The first time was in Oct 1972 and did three years active. Then ETS in Oct 1975. Six months later I join the California Army National Guard part time. Then in March 1982 I got laid-off from my full time job so I decided to go back into the Army. I had to take Basic Training all over again and had to go back to the rank ofE2/PVT (I was a E5 in the Nat Guard)! The second time around was much easier for I knew what to expect.
