I respect your opinion, but Avenged have more diversity as Bullet, as a general rule, revolve around base note strumming and a higher riff, whereas Avenged have varying riffs and continuous guitar part harmonies usually throughout. Also in my opinion the vocal complexity of Avenged's songs is better. Finally bringing brand into it doesn't work, because 1, nothing to do with their music and 2, i's all preference :)
i dont like the all round sound of both these players, they can do technical stuff but that is it, i prefer solos from older metal such as iron maiden, megadeth, metallica and others. marty friedmen from megadeth is so under rated, want to hear good solos listen to rust in piece, count down to extinction and youthanaisa

That being said they are both great guitarists and play crazy stuff but synyster knows how to write music to express his feelings. not just playing as fast as possible. and he does it in many songs. Syn knows how to write music not just play. Where Matt does it but only in a couple songs but mainly shreds. Whoever you like better is fine but syn has more talent.
Incredibly hard decision, but for me Avenged win outright because of their beastly solos and ability to incorporated such sophisticated complexity and almost classical style into such heavy songs :) check out trashed and scattered for example, the guitar by itself throughout the choruses is simply beautiful while holding beastly metal standards :D favourite band ever!

Syninster has a muuuuuuch broader and more complicated use of techinique, much better phrasing, much better solo writing abilities, he has a better understanding of music theory (just judging by the solo's he's written). The only thing, and i mean the only thing bullet guy's solo's has is they're a tad bit cleaner(more cleanly played). But if you want an extremely outstanding virtuoso guitarist... go with John Petrucci, or Jeff Loomis or Tom Hess or something
@MoarteaMG dude that solo is easy. its just tremolo picking for the first half the last bit is fast but its easy to nail if you can alt pick fast up and down strings. The afterlife solo has sweeping and takes much more skill, ive been playing almost 2 years i know this. Syn > Padge but both bands are awesome
@a7xfan208 you don't understand. i play guitar too. i know how hard is to sweep but sweep is all syn knows. padge has solo's with sweep like scream aim fire and eye of the storm and other solos without sweep like ashes of the innocent the poison etc.
@MoarteaMG the sweeping padge does is usually 3 string (dignity deliver us from evil eye of the storm & scream aim fire as you mentioned), syn does lots of 4 and 5 string sweeps (bat country 4 AM demons the wicked end) which are alot harder

they're both extreamly skilled guitarest but syn puts heart and sole behind his solos and bfmv(don't know their guitarest name) just goes crazy in my opinion. Also why afterlife for syn "scream" is a much harder solo then afterlife(coming from syn), over all syn for the win.
On the solo's I have to go with A7x and Syn, but for the regular riffs I have to say Bullet. Both are great on either end though. Can't complain no matter who you hear.
you cant really compare these 2 guitarist really cause neither Tuck nor Paget do much soloing.. they do have some songs with solos but not many.. Unlike A7X where Syn almost always solos in every song..

Not to mention that everyone in A7x is a beast at what they do. Shadows is a beast on vocals/screaming. The Rev may he R.I.P. Was and always will be the best drummer, Johnny is a beast on bass, zackys a beast on rhythm guitar and syn is definitely a beast on lead guitar. Everyone in BFMV is okay at what they do, but to me, all of their shit sounds the same. A7x can mix it up try new shit and still come out on top.

He's not longer as much of a screamer as he was and has talent compared to many bands. Syn is actually very good, not overrated, hell underrated if anything. I've heard of him and listened: not impressive to me. When you just shred the neck and then throw notes in, that's not skill, that's speed.

The videos of him and his albums are completely different. Live he likes to shred like crazy because the fans like it and he just like to have fun. His album work, usually most are semi fast paced, and the rest are slow really flowing songs, but of coarse they all have some ridiculous shred at some point. And usually a classical song at the end

@a7xfan208 you don't understand. i play guitar too. i know how hard is to sweep but sweep is all syn knows. padge has solo's with sweep like scream aim fire and eye of the storm and other solos without sweep like ashes of the innocent the poison etc.

@MoarteaMG the sweeping padge does is usually 3 string (dignity deliver us from evil eye of the storm & scream aim fire as you mentioned), syn does lots of 4 and 5 string sweeps (bat country 4 AM demons the wicked end) which are alot harder

Not to mention that everyone in A7x is a beast at what they do. Shadows is a beast on vocals/screaming. The Rev may he R.I.P. Was and always will be the best drummer, Johnny is a beast on bass, zackys a beast on rhythm guitar and syn is definitely a beast on lead guitar. Everyone in BFMV is okay at what they do, but to me, all of their shit sounds the same. A7x can mix it up try new shit and still come out on top.

Neither guitarist is better, Bullet is more aggressive A7X is more into it emotionally... but sometimes i feel like Synyster shouldnt try and solo so long at his concerts because by the time the next song starts half the emo population at their concerts commits suicide from waiting so long and he just extends them to long... He's not longer as much of a screamer as he was and has talent compared to many bands. Syn is actually very good, not overrated, hell underrated if anything. I've heard of him and listened: not impressive to me. When you just shred the neck and then throw notes in, that's not skill, that's speed.

The videos of him and his albums are completely different. Live he likes to shred like crazy because the fans like it and he just like to have fun. His album work, usually most are semi fast paced, and the rest are slow really flowing songs, but of coarse they all have some ridiculous shred at some point. And usually a classical song at the end
