Wonderful find here, great professional girl wrestling like it once was in this country. Thanks for this download, from what I see here your great aunt Mars Monroe was a good wrestler, hanging tough against one of the best of her time, Vivian Vachon.
I'm truly glad so many people have enjoyed this match in the 18 months since I uploaded it. Mars Monroe was my great aunt and obviously Vivian is a legend, so it was awesome for me to be able to find this and share it with the world.
Vivien was the best. You know she must've had a real temper as you see her stomp in frustration in so many matches. Note how she split Mars lip at the end.
No offense to Vivian's brothers, Paul ("Butcher") and Maurice ("Mad Dog"), but I'm sincerely glad that she didn't resemble either of them. She and her stepdaughter were sadly killed by a drunk driver a number of years ago. Vivian was a very lovely lady, not a model type, but very pretty and more full-figured than the Divas and Knockouts of today. Excellent wrestler as well. She was briefly married to AWA and WWWF mid-carder Les ("Buddy") Wolff.
@elc1960 Hi your post of my mother was very nice but slightly inaccurate she died with her daughter Julie Carnegie survied by my father gary and me Ian. yes she was married to buddy Wolff.
@thegrippler Thank you for the correction, Ian! Much sympathy and love from wrestling fans everywhere that remember your mom. Such a tragedy that she had to be taken from you in such a cruel way. Take care, my man!
THE REAL BITCH IS VINCE FOR LETTING THAT UGLY OVER CONTROLLING MOOLAH GET AWAY WITH ALL THOSE BORING MATCHES I WATCHED OVER THE YEARS LIVING IN NY, AND IF YOU GO ON FACEBOOK MOST OF HER GIRLS HATED HER, AND SHE DID NOT HAVE A GOOD TRUNOUT AT HER FUNERAL; I KNOW SHE NEEDS A GLASS OF COLD WATER WRIGHT NOW! CUNT! MOOLAH
@SLIPNICKI I remember seeing Moolah wrestle Vicki Williams on "Championship Wrestling" in early 1972. Moolah worked pretty "stiff" in the ring, and as they were fighting outside the ring, Moolah rammed Vicki's had into the ringpost. She took the blow straight on without blocking it, and worked the rest of the match with a big "goose egg" bump on her forehead. If Moolah had rammed her head in one more time, Vicki would have been split open like a cantaloupe.
Thanks for posting. Vachon was my first favourite wrestler - I had a teenage crush on her! I hated seeing her lose to Marie Laverne in Wrestling Queen or having read about Moolah defeating her.
@83056 In wrestling mags. Sadly, Moolah "won" all the time - she controlled women's wrestling. It's erally too bad as many excelelnt wretslers never won the World belt .

I notice something at the end..the ref only counted 2. I guess that was the rule back then.

@83056 I'd also love to see this but I doubt any exist - in fact there isn't really a lot of Vivian Vachon around at all.
