  • LIKE A BUS!!!

  • do you guys have no salt?

  • @andruha11234 its england. we fall to pieces when we get 5cm of snow or more . Football matches are cancelled , schools shut and people go berzerk. We are stupid when it comes to weather lol

  • @ilovemoviesuk lol... i remember few years back when I was in high school, we had 3 feet of snow (pretty much overnight) and we still had school. This is in chicago, btw.

  • @andruha11234 Where this lot are they use all the salt on their mushy peas and chips.

  • I live in Norway and we have a lot worse conditions than this pretty much all year (lies) and we still manage (lies)

  • I am a bus driver in Scotland and we have to deal with snow a lot in winter. Buses have 4 wheels at the back what helps a lot in the snow Dennis darts know are the worse know as the gear box is shit. I am from London and been up here for 12 years it makes me laugh when TFl pulls all the buses off the road for a cm of snow good going

  • This why we fail in this country, what about a bit of grit on that road, Thumbs up for the driver and thums down for the idiots who did not give him a push.

  • @bmwnasher push an 8 ton bus???? ok

  • @ilovemoviesuk The comment was a bit tounge in cheek,You would be suprised how a few people could make a difference.

  • That hill is a proper nightmare in snow, was coming down it last year and nearly went through the bridge at the bottom lol. Shat me sen!

  • We in sweden (Stockholm) haven't even got any "proper" winter snow yet :(

  • It's an MAN Enviro 300. I drove them in Liverpool. They have a more distinctive whine to the Alexander Dennis Enviro 300s. Not too sure if both have same engines and gearboxes. I drove a Dennis Trident double decker in ice and that was an experience!

  • oi u fuk, whyd'y not stop tae pick me up??!!

  • snow plows or sanders?

  • he did a burnout! lol

  • like a bus !

  • If Carlsberg Did Bus Drivers!!!!

  • @SlipFighter

    LOL

  • My understanding is that on ice (it doesn't work on mud), the wheel-spin helps. The friction warms the tyres and they then melt through the ice and grip the road. Naturally, ice doesn't provide much friction—hence the battle for heat and grip.

  • 100% polish driver!

  • I just love your accents! I love going to chesterfield just to hear the accent :-)

  • good skills by the bus driver but would have been made easier if the passengers had gone to the back over the drive wheels

  • lets all go out n watch buses n cars get stuck in the snow, u people have to much time on your hands

  • yes

  • the engine sounds nice on that bus

  • had this been TM Travel they'd have just crashed into absolutely everything, regardless of the ice.

  • lets go #FTW

  • That is crazy!

  • i dont think he know the gear 1 or low

  • im a driver in edinburgh....i dno if id agree they are good in bad weather. rear wheel drive, engine BEHIND rear wheels. and of course it also depends where your fattest punters are sitting.. only weight on front end is the 20+++ stone driver. not exactly sports car design lol

that driver was very lucky to get moving again. hope you sent that video to his bosses lol

  • well done ;-) He knows how to play with the gaspedal not tu much and not to less.

  • where are the snowplows?

  • that one awesome bus driver

  • Great driving, Stagecoach drivers in my local area should watch this as one look at an icy hill and they won't go near it!

  • Comment removed

  • Everyone to the back of the bus!!

  • HAIL TO THE BUSDRIVER!!!

  • Props to the driver for making that hill.

  • whats that tool in the car doing? knowing the bus is across the road yet pulled within 15foot of a bus. knob

  • yay!! snow!!

  • Woah - Nice driving by the bus driver.

  • bus drifting :D

  • Gotta love that bus driver!!! He never gave up and he made it. Give him a raise!!!!

  • BUS BURNOUT FTW !! :D

  • he a really good drive

  • impressive!

  • Fucking wank !!

  • @187781jason Fucking dog wank.

  • Well there's the problem - he was driving on the wrong side of the road!

  • The 6 dislikes were on the bus.

  • @rose99ification if you look there is no one in the bus

  • Brilliant driver

  • Great driver, I like the clutch control, really helped in those conditions!

  • @radiostarcountry Most busses are automatics now adays eg no clutch

  • That ain't good xD

  • the bus driver needs a medal that was brilliant a+

  • MAN Enviro 300. I love the whine of the Voith gearbox.

  • OMG really nice...

  • haha chesterfield every 10mins. you would of been waitin a while on that night for your local bus!

  • i meant to say if you were living in south london

all you get is rain and sun

    sorry mate.

  • man, i wish it would snow like that down

    in south london

but all you get is rain sun

    poxy weather!

  • the driver of that bus have my respect !

  • now that's a driver..

  • what's he gona do, what's he gona do lol!!!!!!!

  • Bus Driver is very skilled. Not bad at all!!!

  • Well done that bus driver! Very impressive driving skills.

  • good busdriver

  • fair fucks to the driver!!

  • Quick everyone get behind it and push, LOL.

  • OMG the voice at 1:07 is soooo beautiful!!! It made my day :D

  • wat an exelent peice of driving. if u think about it if he left it there it wouldnt be just a 12 mile walk bk to chesterfeild but th ebus would be blocking the road so all the best to him and exelent driving skills

  • how could he leave it there and walk????? its 12 miles back to chesterfield, we have to think of ourselfs as well as you passangers

  • 10 out of 10 for that. I wouldn't have been drivng there, but since he was he did a damn good job.

  • if i was still working for stagecoach i woulda left it there. stagecoach bosses are tossers they like puttin people at risk

  • im a bus and hgv driver myself but im not stupid enough tpo try drivin up an icy hill like that, stupidity, leave it an walk!

  • omg! when you come to a snowy hill you gotta floor to go up it

  • If i was the bus driver, i will had get enough of this travel, and denied to drive in this weather, so huge responsibility !

  • Good bus-driver

  • rich is a good driver, but we all do our best to get you back home in weather like this with little or no thanks at all

  • i am a uk stagecoach bus driver myself now been for 2 months and i must say that is very good driving up that hill. but try driving an optare up where i live with the mega steep hills were is cover in ice god its torcher but a coach would go up it like nothing dam light buses

  • yehhhh really well done.... make him a Sir for that

  • Im a bus driver in North Wales. Busses are generally good in bad weather, the long wheelbase makes sideways motions (drifting if youre a boy racer) easier to controll than in a car, but the weight of the vehilcle makes it very difficult to stop, and even hadred to get going again. Im not suprised the driver in that video found himself across the road, but I'm seriously impressed that he got going after stoping halfay up.

  • As you knew the weight are in the back in the bus with the engine, and the bus pull on the back wheels, where the weight are. But many cars today had front pull wheels, where the engine are. So this is good, than car with wheels who pull from the back !

  • @KrisWales3

I notice you don't know how to spell control!! Clearly you have no grip, Fucktard.

  • top man cok

  • TOP bus Driver

  • That hill is a bitch, I live 2 minutes walk from there, it usually claims its victims on the top bend though coming down, the number of times the railings have been knocked down with cars down the embankment, anyone remember the cop car going through? Shame mobiles with cameras wasn't about then!

  • envrios are the shittest bus in the snow. The rear end slides everywhere

  • youll have to go for the same walk again and video another going up the same hill now we have had another battering of the white stuff :P

  • chesterfield rules

  • fair play to the bus driver for persistance and getting that enviro 300 bus up the hill in those conditions most bus drivers would give up in that i think he has my respect

  • @musicmad1982 very true

  • Good comment !

  • Damn Low Floor buses, always has no balls to go uphill on a slowy slippery roads. High Floor buses can kick ass in a snow going up hill.

  • @qwandiddy the AN68 atlanteans were the best bus for the snow and hills, with the semi auto gearbox. pity there can't be a low floor version of it, as it was the best busof the 70's and 80's

  • That's a great busdriver.

  • I totally agree with you! That bus driver has mine respect! don't mind my bloody English pleace

  • Would help if he wasnt empty. If he had some weight in there, it may have a help a whole lot.

  • See this is why in the USA we have snow routes

  • we got these in south wales god help us when the snow comes :)

  • no m8 dont snow enough in the UK for them to do that really

  • check out the lyrics at 1:07 :).

  • ha ha mate she will be working with Dizzy Rascal before you know lol

  • @S1M8N5ays wot enviro was it m8 200, 300, 400 or 500

  • Comment removed

  • @Cazkumali It's an Enviro 300. The 200 looks the same, but is shorter. The 400 and 500 are both double deckers

  • @Ame3liaa i can't see it help me where is it

  • yeh top stuff! them MANs are unwieldy bastards! back when we had the heavy snow in manchester i had what was probably the worlds slowest crash in one at the airport, doing literally 0.5mph and couldnt stop it because of the sheet ice i was driving on and the stupid well over-keen abs. slid straight off a roundabout and into a bush lol

  • well that was worth a chuckle or 2

  • go on son !!!!

  • show the skill of the drivers and show that thay have to tackel any thing thats y thay have to go 4 more training when thay haave passed the first stage

  • Is there anyone on the bus?? Imagine if it was full up!!! lol

  • There was 1 person on the bus at the front. Giving him support lol

I think it would have rolled back down if it was full ha ha ha

  • @S1M8N5ays If this bus was equipped with automatic gear (and I strongly believe it was), there was no possiblity for the bus to roll back:)

  • @theothertrainee if it was full it would go uphill withou any problem think of the phisics guys

  • @theothertrainee not rly, more people = more mass = better chance on staying on road.

  • @theothertrainee It would climb up easier (if passenges would move to the back) ;) More weight on powered wheels = more traction! :D

  • skillful driving there!!!

  • Hehe

  • That's a driver with some experience behind him. Takes a lot of skill to do that, and guts!

  • i noticed at the end of the video that the ford focus cant get up the hill whereas the bus did a better job shows how good car drivers are in this weather! rubbish!

  • Comment removed

  • Thats bus is legend!

  • its the same with the long wheelbase 56 plate dennis's that first buses use here in wiltshire when they were on the snow and ice they just went sideways all the time when they start spinning and slipping but yeah i must congratulate the bus driver here on his amazing driving skills to get the bus up this hill better then the pathetic car drivers

  • You mean the 55 plate Volvo's with computer controlled brakes? Must be seeing as they dont have any 56 plate vehicles, and the 55 plate volvos are known to be out of control even in the dry! What is wrong with a driver pressing the brake, and the regular air/hydraulic system? Why does a computer have to decide how much to give the driver?

This was a fantasic bit of work by this guy, pinpoint judgement, and not over the top with the right boot!

  • THat is some skilful driving right there!

Is this an ENviro300 bodied MAN by any chance? Because it sounds like an MCW Metrobus.

  • Fair pay..when he slid I thought that was it..how did he manage that? Congrats to the driver involved!

  • What a driver!

  • You can just hear the poor ZF wooing and whining away.

    Great video! ;-)

  • its a voith i think

  • well done!! u need to go for bus driver of the yr

  • i tryed to use the kerb but if you look closely the kerb drops and thats why it slidd out

  • nice one drive! im a bus driver too in a similer situation :)

  • Aww My Grandad Drives Numba 54's!! HeHe

Vell Done To Tha Driver =)

    Was Very Brave!

  • hi nobody i don't think said this but i not read the comments :

the rear of long single deckers will allway slide out when going up a slippy hill all you have to do is use the kerbs to your advantige and if you ceep it moveing your should get to the top but this is untill a parked car terned up all so the driver did well and u say OH NO when the enviro 300 man 18.240 a69 slides out oops is fine and mant to happend so he would not be shitting his self

    thanks me

  • cool thanx for the info :)

  • Stagecoach must have had them on drifting courses lol

  • well done rich london transport not got a clue lol

  • What can i say? braver than A2B!!

  • Excellent video! We were sat here willing him/her to get up the hill!

  • 5 * he needs a reward for that grate vid thoght

  • Remember my first time driving a bus in snow. The bloody thing decided to go sideways into a bus stop layby where about 30 school and college students were waiting. It was a real heart stopping moment I can tell you.

  • What were you doing there on the side of the road watching cars?

  • ha ha I went out for a walk in the snow and could see the bus waiting at the bottom of the hill.....you would have watched :) it was ace lol

  • That was a great bit of driving

  • Hopefully, someone in Stagecoach will see this clip and find out who that driver was. On behalf of ALL drivers like this one, I'd like to express my thanks and admiration!

Anyone who questioned why buses are sometimes taken off the road in bad weather can see the answer right there. Well done.

  • There have been two names so they will have to battle that one out lol

    Alan Blakey

    Richard Roach

  • good bit of driving
