Well...can't consider this as modern ballet. A lot of gesture on upper body and flow have a shadow of latin favour if you realize that. Agreed sugarsweet not too much grande jete, pirouette or foute. Can be more finer as well as in costumes since a whole red piece doesn't reflect the word "modern"!
Can you tell me what is modern dance then? Modern dance is simply a term that describe merging dances and reflecting ones emotion which she is doing both here. Although this dance does consist both ballet and latin, it is still categorize as modern. Latin-contemporary ballet is probably a better word.
its not all about grand jetes, piourettes, or fouettes, and the piece called for turned in legs. Also, it showed how MUCH technique she had. Its about simplicity and cleaness. If she didnt have the amount of technique she did, it would have looked messy. She however, looked clean, streamed lined, and wonderful as this piece called for.
she has quite a lot of technique. her body is held properly, her shoulders are down, and her legs are straight. The piece is more contemporary so she won't be turned out as much. she is a ballet dancer attempting to do a modern piece and it can be very hard to make the transition between the two styles.

Her limbs are long and lovely, but she doesn't seem to have too much turnout nor techniques. There's no grande jete, pirouette, or foute. :S

It's more contemporary, so I don't think classical steps like fouettes matter as much.
She's a very pretty dancer.

I think shes great and her technique is fine. I enjoyed it a lot. Besides, not every dance has to have fouettes or big jumps. Many do, some dont.
