Even though the film was first shown on TV in 1956 [and yearly from 1959 onwards], it was occasionally "dusted off", and sent out to theaters (with the Kansas sequences in black and white instead of sepia-toned, as originally seen): this reissue was part of a series of "MGM Children's Matinees" during 1970 and '71, when they recycled other "classic family features" from their library for new theatrical audiences, including "The Yearling", "Lassie Come Home", "Lili", "Forbidden Planet", etc.
Incidentally, almost all of the footage seen here was originally used in previous trailers in 1939, '44, '49 and '55.

"A Wizard that whizzes"? That's a line that can be interpreted in more than one way! LOL

Hmm. This 1970 trailer is more dated than the 1939 film.
