  • In the future, I want to do a 4bt conversion to a civilian wagon hummer.

  • that toy engine belongs in something small like a jeep. nobody ever thinks about power to weight ratio

  • He can get 250hp/500tq out of those engines. Considering a 6.5 TD doesn't do that I would say its a good combo.  Jamie going to put one in my Hummer next month.

  • no the 6.5 with the same mods will get more power than this toy. common sense use it.

  • The 6.5L doesn't make good tq. Why waste time on a piece of junk that is prone to problems? Ignorance stop using it.

  • how much does this conversion cost? it seems interesting.lots of tq for a small engine. more than my 6.9l it only gets 310 tq that no turbo.

  • @robby844 Cracked mains. Broken crank from bad harmonic balancer. Cracked heads. Cast crank is good for little power but with mods not a good ideal.

  • A 6.5 would NOT hold up to the mods, the block and crank would give away.

    These 4bt's are so beefy they weigh a litle less then a 6.5

  • @foxsecret so your saying the detroit diesel built to withstand over 1000 on the stock bottom end wouldnt hold up to itself?

  • @robby844 has there ever been a 6.5 built to handle a 1000? The only 6.5 I can think of that can handle alot of power is the 6500 optimizer but no one has ever built one.

  • @foxsecret no there hasnt been a 6.5 to produce 1000. but mine in my HMMWV is pushing 600 on stock rods,pistons,and crank. in fact nothing in the engine has been touched.yes they did have problems with cracked heads in the beginning but they later took care of the problem.ive never had a harmonic problem.

  • @robby844 If you have a 6.5 pushing 600 on sock bottom end then you should put up a video. Did you dyno it? With those numbers a stock 6.5 will grenade itself. I have never heard of a 6.5 pushing that much power and hold up. The only 6.5 that can handle that power is the 6500 optimizer.

  • theres a ford ranger in diesel power magazine with a 3.9L 4BT cummins running 850 rwhp on #2 diesel only! try getting that out of a shitty gm 6.5

  • its nice to see people switching from gas, helping the earth, this hummer gets better milage then a prius now, lol, thats SWEET
