  • 'Have a jolly good read...' best line I've ever heard. A well articulated response. Well done.

  • i bought all the twilight books ....

    just to burn them

  • Thumbs up for Dracula!

  • Has anyone ever told you you look like Johnny Depp?

  • good lawd

    you are gorgous

  • Hello mr Pricky Prick you fanny!

  • I know this video is old, but I'd still like to say you make very valid points and I agree with you on every statement. Great job :)

  • you look like the british version of josh harnett, that is if you are british

  • lol trust a brit to be the calm voice of reson

  • i wish i had guy friends like you. my chick friend wants to hug you like she hugs her madara uchiha plushy. its kinda creepy.

  • i wish i had friends like you

  • Wow. You're amazingly calm, speaking in a smooth, rational tone, incredibly good looking, and in general, you sound like a nice person.

I bet people attack you with their phone numbers ALL THE TIME. XD

  • This is my favorite response to her video. Awesome.

  • She shouldn't have attacked King in the first place. The man has an opinion, and it happens to be the same as a lot of peoples (including mine). And he has more than enough credentials to have an opinion about another authors work. Not sure if Nutty was aware of this, but every author/musician/artist etc deal with criticism, and the fact that some people like their stuff, some don't. Also, I don't think Meyer cares either, and as a writer, I'm sure she understands there is always criticism.

  • i read half of twilight and i just couldn't finish it. ive read many king books and i cant wait to read more. long live the king

  • Bloody hell! Where do they make men like this??? Tell me, I'll move :)

  • Message: wonderful. Visuals: even better!

  • I just think this video and the videos before are bullshit, no offence and I am really not pointing at you... But Stephen King is modern horror literature... This author that wrote this Twilight bullshit just wanted to combine horror with romance in a mainstream that would attract young people in their early teens to the twenties... I do agree with you bra, Twilight could never give me a nightmare, maybe a wet dream, or a dream full of glitter.... AND THERE ARE BETTER BOOKS AND MOVIES...

  • Wow, you are fucking sexy!

  • i didnt think Captain Jack Sparrow was real. you sir have proved me completely wrong :) more uber respect because you metioned awsome books like Bram Stoker's Dracula and such! \m/

  • Dear Sylantio,

    you sir, are incredible.

sincerely, an unbelievable amount of, well, everyone.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow! You got dazzling eyes.

  • Unusual that a scot would call himself British?

  • @DarkInc1Design Not when their parents are English, and Grandparents are Irish and Welsh.

Plus I've met quite a few Scots who are quite happy being called British. The number of the population hoping for independence is actual quite the minority. [:

  • @Sylantio Well said mate. I'm a Scot and just as happy to call myself British. I hate all this ridiculous pretense that just because your Scottish you must be an English hating, past dwelling Teuchter.

  • OMG! you smart, pretty and with a sexy accent....i star to think the perfect man can alcually exict...XD

  • Thank you for posting a far calmer reaction to this than I would have been capable of. And I agree with a previous comment: PLEASE do not send her over here! :) We have enough crazed Twilight fans of our own to deal with.

  • You... Are so cool!

  • Oh jesus, you are beautiful. Everything you said was so accurate.

  • <3 <3 hot and smart?? <3 <3

  • You look like how I imagine Eddie Dean from the Dark Tower series would look. I'm pretty happy about this.

  • Don't send that crazy British Bitch over here! We have our own crazy bitches!

  • My my my... you are gorgeous. :)

Also I totally agree with you. Well done sir!

  • Marry me now.

  • Well reasoned and I agree one the swearing thing!

  • You bear an uncanny resemblence to Johnny Depp..I'm sure you hear that alot..

  • Finally a coherent and intelligent response without name calling, swearing or anything else. A+ (and yay for Scottish accents and having Irish/English/Scottish/Welsh heritage!) :D

  • I'm officially moving to Britian with my aunt now.

  • I think you made a good point about the fact that Stephen King was criticizing Myer instead of attacking her. Thank you so much for posting this, you pretty much said everything that I was thinking while watching nuttymadam's video.

  • I just wanna say I love you. This is awesome.

  • Oh my goodness, thank you!

    I totally agree with you.

I'm not gonna lie, I read all of the books and for a short time I was a twihard- BUT, hear me out, I was 13.

You're supposed to be 13 and love stupid things like that! I eventually outgrew it and "saw the light." I'm 17 and I am WAY more mature than her...

  • ... and in this case over hysterical support that a criticism from a well respected author causes among her fanbase

  • A very calm well thought out and well put response. Everything I was thinking you said here. Well apart from one thing. If Twilight is so successful (which it is as it's well recieved by it's target audience) and it's sold so many books why does it need to be defended. This isn't some little independent film or book that's been doing the rounds online it's sold 18 million copies so you'd think it could stand on it's own two feet. I'd be interested to hear what Myers thinks of the fanatical ...

  • you have a pretty awesome style....

and i completeley agrre with you, i am a twilight hater and i DID give the books a chance even when the new mimi book thing came out i read it and i didnt like any of them but no one can go around hating anything without givin it a chance

  • I hate twilight for two reasons. 1. I'm tired of hearing about it all the time. And 2. It makes vampires look like wimps. Give me the hardcore I am legend type blood sucking vampires and I might actually be interested. Don't give me a wimp that sparkles in the sun when it touches him or however the fuck it goes.

  • Don't try and talk logic to the twitards. They're like monkeys, only far less likeable.

  • fuck yea .. thats all that needs to be said lol

  • i spent a year living in south england and have travelled to scotland and ireland, going home to toronto canada afterwards was an enormous disapointment i knew the quality of the men would go waaaaay down, (it did). soloution move to montreal and hang with the french. btw I agree with your rebuttal, twilight is for people who are immensly sexually repressed.

  • Perfectly said :)

  • ur fucking sexy.

  • You have beautiful eyes!!! ... Well said Mr. Sylantio.

  • Comment removed

  • King's only been around for 3000 years. What limelight? Hahaha.

  • Stephen King is my favorite writer, and I've read a lot, trust me. I can't believe these two are even fighting, they aren't even in the same league. I've tried reading Twilight but I thought it was an ugly translation (I'm a spanish speaker). Then I tried reading the same book in English but... I realized it wasn't very good. I'm not against it, I don't like it but I don't care who does.

SK plays with your inner fears like nobody else.

    PS: I'd have your kids.

  • i agree with everything said in this video, my view however is that its two different audiences. Stephanie Meyer's books are meant for awkward teenage girls and Stephen King's books are adult novels. I just take the twilight fans for what they are ( awkward teenage girls) and move on.

  • Did you guys notice that everyone making these Replies are:

    1 Extremely pretty.

    2. Extremely intelligent.

Well, I know which side I'm on! :D

  • Of course we're not with her! She's not even with her... O_O

I have never seen somebody as obsessed as she is. Stephen King is a legend, not my favourite author but I'm not a sci fi/horror fan, when it comes to that genre however, he is The Man.

  • Very good points made, good sir.

And you are extremely cute, so double points :D

  • ahhhh your voice is so soothing after a crazy stressful day....I could listen to you talk about stereo equipment.

  • Thank god someone gave her an eloquent, intelligent and straight answer to 'statement' about Stephen King.

    My friend, I salute you.

  • Will you marry me?

  • I've read the Twilight saga and the Harry Potter series and Many of Stephen Kings books and twilight is a sad excuse for a story line.. one of my favorite quotes stephen king said was "Harry Potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing what is right in the face of adversity. Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend." and its so true... I love King.. He is one of my favorite authors of all time and this made me love him even more..

  • you're pretty. a johnny depp resemblance.

  • hottie.

  • I'm sure you're tired of hearing this, but you are an extremely good-looking man, as well as intelligent! =D

  • you look like johnny depp

  • "A jolly good read..." You Brits are so adorable! Like that you tried pointing her towards good literature like Stoker and Rice. Simon Clark would probably be above her reading level. But it is nice that you suggested a few titles that were made into movies for her convenience. Nicely put; glad to see fans of good fiction are defending in a calm, intelligent manner. :)

  • Twilight probably would have been better if Stephenie Meyer would have taken more inspiration from 'Salem's Lot. Those are real vampires.

  • You. Sexy. Beast.

Sorry...got to pay attention to the actual video, now...

  • @Librannica you're not alone

  • i love the fact that u suggest Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. i have yet to read Bram Stoker's Dracula.

and i will agree w/ some of the others that have commented here, u are quite attractive. :3 even tho i was completely mesmerized by ur eyes, i did listen and agree 100%. XD

  • @elysionia haven't read Bram Stoker's Dracula?.....for shame....It was required reading in my High School.

  • @zombikat69 unfortunately, my high school was stupid and made us read other books that were boring. i have a crap ton of Stephen King books to still read plus LOTR & the rest of the Anne Rice vampire books i'm ever-so slowly working on. eventually, i'll buy and read Bram Stoker's Dracula. ^^b

  • Damn.. you are hot xD

  • The one dislike is probably from nuttymadam3537.

  • An accent, intelligence, and good taste. I just swooned <3 Lol, but really. This is a wonderful response to the (heavily) misguided user of note.

  • the way you put things is perfect. Its actually really hilarious compared to...the beast to which this video is a response!

  • your voice gives you an instant win :D

  • @WTFM so does his face. *fanning self*

  • You look like the sort of badass who would eat bullets drenched in motor oil for breakfast.

  • I'm pretty sure that Stephenie Meyer respects Stephen King. People have different view points on the Twilight books. I read them, was a fan, and the movies honestly ruined my how I felt about them, lol. You can't compare Stephenie Meyer to Stephen King because one is a veteran author and the other is someone that just got in to the career of writing.

  • Sylantio that RE: was complete and utter logic

  • Talking to this dude must be great!

  • YEah, king is actually a constant inspiration for me to be a writer. I have written a short story and i have recently finished a novel. But the short is crime and the novel is mystery. I wanted to write a police procederal set in Boston, but then after a few years of reading Dennis Lehane, Linda BArnes, Tess Gerritsen and Micahel COnnelly i got a better idea about a P.I.

And i think "On Writing" was a helpfull book and very inspiring. ever read it?

  • To be honest i am a die hard twilight hater and i actually gave the chance to read it. Yeah, didnt turn out so well but i kept reading it hoping it would be better. *sighs* Nope.

  • Not like this has anything to do with the video but your so hot

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!

  • holy shit youre beautiful :D great video anyway^^

  • Just ponder this.....S. Meyer a woman with children in her mid 30's and housewife...Somehow relates REALLY well to teenagers!! Except for 1 thing. If you wrer 17-20 yrs old for 10000000 years and on..would you choose to go to HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE???? OR College??!!! LMAO. I'm from Maine, I've met the guy. great brilliant man so I may be biest..No I don't think so after all Meyer is a novelty! :) Not a Novelist!

  • I agree with TayloreMishell, you sir are intelligent and attractive. :) I did try to give all the Twilight books a chance and I agree with you, they're very poorly written.

  • I understand you. I tried to get my Twilight loving sister to watch Queen of the Damned...she said the Vampires were to mean...shes 16...I seethed...

  • @Bycupidsstrongestbow Hmm, maybe try Buffy? That might work.

  • I hear a Scottish accent? so what this "we brits" thing about Alex Salmond wouldn't be very happy bro

  • @jimmy2k4o I'm sure he wouldn't. But to be honest, I think I'd prefer it that way. My opinions on Alex Salmond aren't dissimilar to that of a steaming pile of cow shit.

I may be born and bred in Scotland, but with English parents, and a lovely mix of Welsh and Irish grandparents, I consider myself British. Having to remember my passport when I want to visit my Gran is just a royal pain in the ass, plus the guaranteed bankruptcy that an independent Scotland promises is somewhat off-putting...

  • @Sylantio okey that's fair although 1. you can be against independancy but still appreciate all the wonderful work alex has done free prescriptions free bus travel for oaps free college and uni and 2. just for the record economically scotland would be stronger as an independant nation we are 8.6% of the uk pop but raise arounf 10%of the revenue more tha enough to take care of ourselves plus we would have full rights to the northsea oil and renewable energy we produce instead of sharing it

  • @jimmy2k4o Not really prepared to get into a political debate, so I'll just say agree to disagree on this one.

  • @Sylantio fair enough dude, just please take a real impartial look at the figures and statistics before you vote in the referendum, peace

  • @Sylantio I have no animosity toward england apart from the we subsidise them and they treat us like parasites and we are losing our identity as part of the UK andy murry the brittish tennis player trainspotting the british blockbuster etc etc btw pardon my terrible spelling and punctuation too many joints tonight.

  • Anyone know when the bag of bones miniseries comes out in New Zealand

  • Haha this is awesome, so funny as well as true and your hot :)

  • does anybody know when the IT remake comes out?

  • You are awesome! Haha and you have gorgeous eyes :)

  • Stephen King writes more than horror in some the rants I hear people say "I dont like horror it scares me" I can name quite a few books that most people would not realize had been written by Mr. King_ Eyes of the dragon_ the green mile_ his short stories shawshank redemption and the running man he is best known for his horror but that is not all he writes

  • exactly i read twilight i read Pet Sematary Pet Sematary was amazing

  • My God I love your accent, it sounds half American and half British. And at least you proved your points well unlike the original video.

  • Nutty Madem I know your hurt what stevie boy said but you went way to far to say he is not a good writer which is totally untrue.

  • Wonderful to listen to! It was very witty at some parts and had constructive critism. In all honesty, I have not actually read a Stephen King book because I'm not very into horror stories or movies (at all, actually) but of course I am well aware that Stephanie Meyer's fanbase is far smaller than Meyer's.

Lovely to hear from someone else on the sane side of our little island that is Britain as oppose to my mad-ridden Twilight fanatic friends.

  • You are not only intelligent, but also really attractive. Man, why can't America make men like you?

  • There are attractive, intelligent people everywhere m'dear - you just need to know where to look :]

  • @Sylantio I suppose you're right. Utah is just the hardest place to find them. >.>

  • @Sylantio I would just like to take a moment and tell you how impressed I was and how much I enjoyed hearing you speak. One cuss word and it was a direct quote; so none to your fault. Don't get it twisted, I cuss something awful; when I'm having conversation. But when I am trying to hear someone, it comes over so much better when they use straight talk and not a cuss word ever other one. You are very well informed and intelligent in your speaking. {Much enjoyed my 6 min 10 sec with you LOL}

  • @Sylantio Where do we look in America? =)

  • @TayloreMishell

I agree with you. I live in austria, so this video is really frustrating to watch xD

and yes, you look alike johnny depp, just younger

great arguments, very nice video, thumps up.

  • @TayloreMishell They do...just harder to find...

  • From one King fan to another, thanks for your response to that nutters video.

  • You are SUPA COO :D

  • @Sylantio - Don't get me wrong, I took no offence to what you said, and why should I? She is clearly stark-raving mad. The reason I commented is because, in contrast to the majority of the American 're's who were crude, rude and honestly not all that clever, you seem of a different calibre yet resorted to responding to someone who is clearly mentally deranged. I guess what I'm trying to say is it didn't quite add up. Just my thoughts.

  • If Sylantio is so literary and insightful with regard to authors/books etc, why has he degraded himself by even responding to nuttymadam's video? I doubt Stephen King himself would appreciate it, he would probably be embarrassed that any of his fans are actually taking that nutter seriously. And while I don't agree with the rants of that girl, don't speak for all us Brits; there might be the odd other deranged person out there who agrees with her. God, I hate people who jump on the bandwagon.

  • @LadyLynx1986

All valid points I suppose. I have been tempted to delete this video for a while if I'm honest - was probably in a very anti-twilight mood at the time (it was two years ago, memory fails me somewhat). And obviously I don't speak for every single British person as someone who despises Twilight (I have a few friends myself who are big fans). I think it was more just because I hadn't seen any British videos responding to her statements. Plus it was actually kind of fun making it.

  • @LadyLynx1986 Regardless, I merely wanted to point out that I, personally, disagree with the girl for certain reasons which I have listed. I'm sorry if this has upset you in any way, and please believe when I say that I am still considering deleting this thing. Consider it thus far an old rant born of boredom. :)

  • listen up cute british guy tell th queen she can have america back if you guys kill stephenie meyer for us

  • Thank you! I love watching others respond to her video. You really carried out your argument well. I love seeing the calm of the response compared to her freak out. It makes the rest of the world seem sane. Hope to be seeing more of your videos :D

You are absolutely GORGEOUS by the way. Don't go breaking hearts now~ ;)

  • @ConsciousxCrew

Hahah, afraid it's not often I find myself doing videos like this - it was more out of respect for Stephen King that I uploaded this thing. Big fan of his. And Lovecraft. And Poe. They're wonderful! :) Tend to upload my music if anything, they're the things that I want to world to see, assit t'wer. x)

Hahah, you're very kind m'dear! And likewise, I can imagine many a man swooning after seeing your videos ;)

  • @Sylantio It's difficult not to love King. I just busted out one of my copies of Desperation to reread when I was back home. Planning on reading it again before school starts. I've yet to pick up anything Lovecraft, but I rarely have time to read nowadays. Soon, though, I hope. And I LOVE Poe.

In any case despite this being the first of its kind, it's very good. How long have you been playing music?

And Nah, I just rewatched my video, and Jesus, am I awkward as anything. But thank you. :D

  • A civilized response, sir. Good show. I like how you're not just counter-bashing her.

Also, yes, there's some music in the background. Can only hear the bass though. Like it's coming from outside your room and reverberating in your walls....like Cthulhu's call...............................or something. Also, if you plan to read Dark Tower, prepare yourself for a long (but enjoyably surreal) ride. It's seven books long, most of them at roughly 300/500-800+ pages.

  • Wasn't Twilight based off of 'Trueblood'? ._. the similarities between the two are masssssssive. Right down to the mind reading bit.

  • i actually LOVE YOU for uploading this video! <3

  • well played my friend ^_^ well played

  • Comment removed

  • Have you ever read the Dark Tower books? :)

  • @asimaniac93 Can't say I have. Heard about them though. Currently making my way through all of David Mitchell's works, as well as David Gemmel's. And Lovecraft's. And Iain Banks'. My reading list is looooong, heh. Dark Tower is on there somewhere, but I'm afraid Lovecraft comes first. :)

  • Woah, I didn't know it was possible for a guy to be both smart and good looking.

  • "..you appropriately named person." HAHAHAHA xD

  • aww you're so handsome and talking the truth!

  • I like the fact that you said most twilight haters gave the books a chance. For example, me. I read the books back in 2005. Didn't like them then, don't like them now. But anyway, you pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. So good job!

  • you could elaborate about the phone book for all I care, just send me the link so I can stiil look at your hotness talking. Fuck that fat bitch by the way, she could die choked from eating a donut or something.

  • Totally offtopic, but I like the tune playing in the background of this. What is it?

  • @docmacabre Not aware of any music in the background pal. I recommend you see a doctor soon ;D

  • @Sylantio

I ... realised that, too, after I'd posted that ... Another video on YT was running at the time, and it was a playlist entry, which I'd failed to notice, and the new song started the second your vid started. Perfect timing!

  • @Sylantio great video

  • i think am in love

  • its nice to see someone actually be tactful and smart with their response. everyone else is just being vulgar and throwing sarcasm around. kudos

  • Quite a nice change from usual rage responses to madame's videos. Well baked arguments with a sarcastic cherry on top. Truly an excelent flavor.

I strongly believe that it's not anger that's going to change tard's opinions and world views. Shame that most of us still go into rage OCD when faced with major fail and ignorance. Let's hope it's just a social phase and people will grow out of it.

Had good time watching You m8. Cheers.

  • I'm from Scotland too. I can already feel the chemistry. And yes, I dislike Meyer too.

  • @DottyMcFluffee Hahah! It's clearly meant to be, then. ;D

  • OMGZZZZZZZ twighlite is gr8 I <3 Edward, dnt be dissing him, he is soooooooo sxc!!! Stephen King may just writes about ghosts from scooby doo, boring! LOLZ. U r gai for not agreeing with the other girl. Also my mum was here when I was watching this video and now I am grounded for watching naughty video's because you swore, thanks! Kisses.x

  • When I saw your pic in the thumbnail, I thought, "Thats a fellow Aussie!!"

Then when I knew you were from Britian, I was sorely disappointed, I don't think any aussies have gave their opinion on this matter.

You sound like your're from Liverpool

  • @zenyricardo Sorry to disappoint.

But I'm a Scotsman, actually. Born and raised in Inverness, live and work in Edinburgh.

Mother is from York, and father is from Nottingham, so no idea where the Liverpool is coming from. Heh.

  • This was amazing. I love that you're making points in such a polite way but you DO make them. Also yay for Stephen King appreciation - there's a reason he's been around for +30 years anyway. And go you for giving some good recs! ;)

  • ur so polite sounding but also very mokingly state facts i like that XD plus accents dont hurt ether....maybe i should rant on twilight in a true vapire lovers angle, i was in love with vamps since i was 5 XD hey u read any good vampire books you can recomend to me?

  • @sayachan7 Thanks very much!

Hmm, well my personal favourite is Bram Stoker's 'Dracula', but there's also a short story by Poe called 'Ligeia', or Anne Rice's 'The Vampire Chronicles'. Or Stephen King's 'Salem's Lot'. These are just random suggestions, all these authors have plenty more works out that are just as worth reading. I'd also recommend H. P. Lovecraft; alongside Edgar Allan Poe he's one of my favourite horror-authors.

  • @Sylantio XD nice i have dracula in fact 3 diferent copies by 3 diff authors X3 ive also read salems lot , i never heard of 'Ligeia' is it good? whats it about? and have you read 'misery'? i love that book its to die for, i also like light reads like 'cirque du freak' have you heard of it?

  • @sayachan7 'Ligeia' is as powerful as all of Poe's stuff. The narrator is married to a woman called Lygeia, who dies of an illness. He then falls in love with a woman called Lady Rowena, who also dies of an illness. Poe stays by her bedside overnight, and she comes back to life. Doesn't sound it, but it's pretty scary, though not quite vampiric, I suppose.

  • @Sylantio ahhh i see sounds good i thank you XD now i just have to finish the 5 books im curently reading XD i got them at a free book box at my library i just took the box thats how much of a tard i am XD

  • Bram Stoker's Dracula is a masterpiece.

I don't see how anyone could compare S.King's magnificent work to Meyers poorly written fairytale. It's an insult to literature.

Another great book is Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, nothing to do with vampires, just classic, gothic literature.

  • you look just like the main actor from The Event.

  • you're so kind.

I actually read the four books and they are bad...thats it...they do their work as...books for underage girls....but 'mayer a genius'.. 'twilight the best series ever' i really doubt it....they're popular books not...good books...

  • you look a little like a younger Jonny Depp :D

also, your arguments were very well presented, nice job.

  • I gave Twilight a chance - I read all four books... The first three were just normal romance books, nothing special. The forth one was just... I could talk for hours of what idiotic things I have read there. Total fail.

  • well said, all the way through (except maybe the throw her into Atlantic bit- however funny it may have been). I commented to her tirade with explainations of why she was ridiculous, however I think we can both agree that she lives in her own little world and is content to be ignorant.

  • You are beautiful D;

Loved your response, couldn't have said it better!

  • Wow, I thought you were Josh Harnett.

  • "You say that you really can't get past the third page without boring yourself silly. Well that means that you haven't given the books a chance."

Sylantio, do you know what a "reluctant reader is?" They're the ppl who basically don't read novels because there's nothing out there to grab their attention. Nuttymadam sadly falls into this category as Twilight appeals to her deluded fantasies.

  • Push her into the Atlantic? You mean back to her natural habitat with her Cetacean cousins eh?

  • @nuttymadam3757 What a witty retort. I applaud your mastery of the English language.
