Although the Clana proposal took place in a more creative location, I much prefer the Clois proposal because to me the effort and sentiment Clark put into it was more romantic.
After his plans to propose during a romantic dinner failed, Clark arranges for Lois to be showered in rose petals and then proposes to her in front of a location that was signiificant to them both; THEIR phone booth. So while both proposal scenes were well done, I find the Clois scene the better of the two.
okaii...dnt get me wrong..im for clois all the way...and tht scene was SO romantic and beatiful...but tht clana proposal...man tht was EPIC! lol. i mean c'mon fellow clois shippers...ya gotta admit...it might've not been as romantic...but it was deff more epic...
I gotta say, although I am 100% a Clois shipper, I actually prefer the Clana proposal. It was a nice callback to Superman III (thumbs up for Annette O'Toole, the only tolerable Lana Lang!), and just a very sweet scene.
@AceofGallifrey I'm a CLois fan as well and I have to agree that I prefer Clark and Lana's take in the Fortress. It was just so much more romantic and beautiful. Also I felt that this marriage thing in S10 was rushed and there was no need for it to be. Just having them together was enough for me.
@LyricalXilence I liked the engagement and marriage. I would have been content just to see them together, too, but seeing them combine their two lives into one over the course of the season and really be together in every sense of the word, in the way people who are in love and getting married do, really cemented their relationship. It was a great way to show that Clark had finally found the one who was right and was done waiting and wondering and running around in circles in his relationships.

I loved Clark's proposal to Lana very much. It was five years in the making and therefore the anticipation had been built up for me from the start of the show. When it finally came it was thrilling and magical. The setting was also very beautiful with it being in the fortress of solitude & him carrying her in his arms. I also adored him being so nervous in anticipation as well as turning a lump of coal into a gorgeous diamond...a nice shout-out to Superman III. Very significant & special.

One more thing I love about Clana's proposal is Clark didn't know what's gonna happen with his relationship with Lana. I mean all was unpredictable, full of surprises. Just like life. He didn't know if Lana would accept him or not even though I'm sure a major part of him was sure Lana would always accept him. I like that Clark based his proposal on his gut & desire to marry her becoz he couldn't live without her, NOT due to a future reference BS. Thus, his proposal was more real & romantic.

Clark always wanted to marry Lana. He actually proposed or wanted to propose her 3 times, Reckoning,Crimson,&Promise. I remember Pete teased him about it. He said that in Clark's dream he married Lana. So, it's a big BS that Clark married her only becoz he's afraid of losing her. Even if it was, it's pretty normal when U love someone. In Clana's proposal, Clark wanted to marry Lana becoz he LOVED her while in his other proposal, it's becoz he wanted to settle. Love > Settling also Lana > Lois.

Clark's NEVER obsessed w/ Lana. If he had been, he wouldn't have pulled her away quite many times. He just simply LOVED her so much that even without his realizing, his heart always brought him 2 her. Watch Blank. Even when Clark lost his memory, his heart always belonged to Lana. Though the whole world is against U, wanting 2b with someone who loves U back is never an obsession. That's struggling. True love doesn't have a happy ending becoz true love NEVER does end. Just like Clana's love.

Lana's reaction was also amazing. She didn't refuse Clark even though she had just been knocked out by two BIG news in her life, knowing the man she loved was an ALIEN & he PROPOSED her. Just remember she's still a TEEN at that time. I don't think another woman in SV could handle it better than Lana. There's a character in SV who could NOT handle knowing that his boyfriend had a double life. Lana had accepted Clark since the very beginning. I love the look on Clark's face when Lana said yes. <3

Of course Clana wins by thousand miles...It's not even a battle. :D For me Clana's proposal was more intense, emotional, and intriguing. Thus, it's more personal & romantic. Just look at Clark's eyes. He'd kept looking at her tenderly since he opened the portal . It's a total adoration, passion, & love. A look of a man who wanted to spend the rest of his life with the woman he totally loved. You could also see his little nervousness, fears, & tense that made the proposal look GENUINE & REAL.
Clark tried to give Lois a nonsuper proposal becuz He knows Lois already understands how easy super comes. Clark wanted to show how hard he worked and planned. Clois proposal was more appreciated.
Clark was obsessed with Lana she didn't even say yes like come on a man does the best proposal to man by makin a diamond with his hand & puts it on a ring askin U to marry him and you wait to say yes. It'd have to say CLANA by far even if she ended up dying in that episode and it ended up not happening, I still liked it more because I thought it was more personal.
And of course, the Clois one is preferable. Clark proposed near their phone booth and made it snow white rose petals, but beyond environment, the Clois proposal is a lot less cheesy, and still maintains romance.
When I heard his voice, I was just completely shocked. I forgot how young he was back then, and how much he matured since Clois. Anyways, loved this a lot, thanks for making this video!
Clois will NEVER measure up to the epic amazingness of Clana. I know superman is supposed to be with Lois but this is smallville and they made Lana such a huge part of his life in the show cause they spent seven seasons developing their relationship so its not hard to always want them to end up together. :'(

When watching Smallville I always thought that CLANA was more natural and that the writers knew they were under pressure to make CLOIS work. Lana was looking at the bigger picture when she wanted to be like Clark becuase when you love someone you do everything to ensure you stay together forever. She wanted to protect him like he protected her. In addition, Clark was too afraid to make love to Lana without her powers and so that was the only solution. And I think Chloe knew Clark the best.

But at the end of the day the relationship between Lana and Clark didn't end because of a lack of a trust or love. They would have remained together if it had not been for the kryptonite like I said before. To say there was a lack of love is a total misunderstanding of their relationship. All I can say is that Lana will always be the one that got away and his biggest love, she was like kryptonite to him; his weakness that could cause pain, but pain is love....
@er0607 Yes - their relationship didn't end because of this , but to be with Clark Lana had to be equal to him.Lana - said " Now we can be together" after she had absorbed a kryptonite.We can see that their love wasn't as strong as Clark & Lois one which overcamed all problems.Lois didn't have to be like Clark - a superwoman to be with him.Her humanity was his strenght what we saw many times from Seasons 4-10.Lois always knew Clark better than anyone else.
@er0607 Like in S10E10 "Luthor" - Lois recognised the real Clark in few seconds.Lana didn't recognise that Bizarro wasn't Clark back in Season 7.It's a prove that bond between Clark & Lois was greater than any other bond he had with anyone else in his life. Yes - I can admit that Lana was the biggest love of Clark when he was a teenager , but as he grew up, he just moved on and fallen in love with the biggest love of his adult life - and that means entire life - Lois Lane.

Their relationship in season 7 didn't work because of 2 reasons (1) She was focused on getting revenge on Lex and (2) Lex forced her to break up with Clark over the video. In season 8 they got back together but couldn't be together because Lana had to absorb kryptonite from the bomb and that was the only way Lana could make way for Clois. Because smallville was based on the life of superman it was destiny for lois to be with Clark but in smallville reality Clark would always pick Lana.
@er0607 I would add the third reason: Clark wasn't enough for Lana , even after she knew everything about him.She said that she loved Bizarro more which wasn't Clark - she didn't recognise that after a few months of sleeping with him.So through entire Season 7 Clark & Lana had a big problems to live and be happy together.There were so many awkward scenes between them.The writers wanted to say that in Smallville reality Clana is also a doomed relationship with the lack of trust and love.

CLANA 4 life, the drama is what made it interseting; lois was funny but lana was clarks true love and will always be. If they had met when they were both mature and lana never met lex (who corrupted her mentally and physically) they may well have got married
I don't mind Lana but the way she whispers practically everything gets a bit annoying.I always thought Lois had more personality than Lana and Lois was the only character that actually made me laugh(apart from Oliver at the odd time).As for what ship I am on,as long as I get to stare at Tom Welling I don't mind,but if I had to chose it would be Clois hands down.Too much drama in Clana.
@100loveselgomez She was but as the wedding drew near, she realized she still loved Clark and was going to break it off with Lex until Lionel threatened to kill Clark if she didn't marry Lex. Lana had told Clark she would call off the wedding but instead he watched her marry Lex. Not too long afterwards, Lana left Lex and faked her death. Lex found her hiding in China and said she could come back to Smallville and he wouldn't bother her anymore. She came back and got back together with Clark.
Actually I believe you should not have to sacrifice yourself and your beliefs for love. Or else you will resent that person forever, constantly bringing up how you give up this and that for them. Real love should just be a completion of each other. Sacrificed love only works in fiction. Where you do not see 10 years down the road how that sacrifice affected the relationship.

Desperate to protect his secret, Lana ran out and drove away. Lex followed her and, while getting away, Lana crashed into a bus and died. Clark thought that it was because of knowing his secret that she died so he went back in time, didn't tell his secret this time, and not long afterwards they broke up. They got back together, and broke up, twice.
I prefer the clois proposal. Don't get me wrong. The Clana proposal was sweet, and perfect for clark and lana, and i was a huge clana fan way back then, but i liked the short and normal proposal. i think that's way they r perfect together. lois makes clark feel normal.
Both proposals were very romantic and special. But I have to admit that I loved the roses floating down from the sky on a beautiful night Metropolis than the cold fortress. The roses were what really got to me. I'm a big fan of roses and rose petals themselves, and that is what made Clark and Lois' proposal much better. I love how Clark tries and tries to get his plan across, but she keeps on saying and wanting to do different. He doesn't give up; he comes up with a new plan and he finally asks

Clark has ways to be with Lana (the FoS, blue-k, the legion ring), in the end he DID choose to let her go for good. (Putting her picture away in Rabid was clear sign of closure) Doomsday was the key moment for Clois. Clark painfully realised what he had in front of him, when he lost it. Clark died, he gave up. Then Lois came back, and Clark did it too. =)

While both proposals are gorgeous, I have to say I like the Clois one better. I never liked that Clark proposed to Lana right after telling her the truth and really I always felt that he proposed to Lana to keep her because they were having so many problems. Whereas, I felt the opposite with Lois. Clark proposed to her because she knew him and still loved him and had proved it.
I'm sorry about superman's story of lois and clark, but clana proposal will ever be a example of how to it with the person you love.... CLANA of course....

There is no comparaison between both propasal. Clark proposed to lana just because he didn't want her to be with lex. He asked lois because she is "so lois" "the love of his Life" " the only one ever who made him feel normal" he also proposed lois at their phonebooth, something which meant a lot for both, the FoS meant nothing for clana

She didn't say yes immediately because Clark asked her to think about before giving an answer. The Clois proposal features some of the poorest acting I've ever seen on Smallville.

Clana proposal for sure. With Lois, he just seems like a robot. Clana it was obvious it was heartfelt. He may have been afraid of losing her, but the fact is, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
That entire scene is absolutely beautiful and magical. I mean, come on-he takes her to the fortress, makes her a ring w/ his bear hands AND it's snowing-so romantic! Clark does not seem happy in the Clois proposal at all, sorry...his voice doesnt even sound happy

@tunapup1 Okay, fair enough. But I think it's important to take into account what prompted Clark to propose both times. With Lois he wasn't pressured into it because he felt like he was losing her, or because she was getting chummy with Lex. He just did it because he wanted to. He even asked her father for his blessing. With Lana he just wasn't thinking, which was a habit for him back in those days. Point is Clark is a different person now. Mature, confident and not afraid of the future.

CLANA is by all the best and the most epic ever! it is because of the uncertainty of where things that would lead them is what made the porposal the best! it was the only cetainty to both of them! their love to one another! besides Clark always feared that Lana wont accept him for who he is, so to actually say yes after all the things that they went through was like a dream come true to him! I 'm pro Clois! But it depends on what point evalue: 1) About couple : Clois is better .. (Lois is Clark's true love but have not treated so well in some seasons (8 season).. 2) in terms of acting .. I think it's best Clana. Of Clois is more rigid. The last kiss and hug don't see. 3) In terms of scene and shooting .. are equal. I think Lana has more Kal - El ... and Clois is more Clark.

Of course Clana wins by thousand miles...It's not even a battle. :D For me Clana's proposal was more intense, emotional, and intriguing. Thus, it's more personal & romantic. Just look at Clark's eyes. He'd kept looking at her tenderly since he opened the portal . It's a total adoration, passion, & love. A look of a man who wanted to spend the rest of his life with the woman he totally loved. You could also see his little nervousness, fears, & tense that made the proposal look GENUINE & REAL.

When watching Smallville I always thought that CLANA was more natural and that the writers knew they were under pressure to make CLOIS work. Lana was looking at the bigger picture when she wanted to be like Clark becuase when you love someone you do everything to ensure you stay together forever. She wanted to protect him like he protected her. In addition, Clark was too afraid to make love to Lana without her powers and so that was the only solution. And I think Chloe knew Clark the best.

But at the end of the day the relationship between Lana and Clark didn't end because of a lack of a trust or love. They would have remained together if it had not been for the kryptonite like I said before. To say there was a lack of love is a total misunderstanding of their relationship. All I can say is that Lana will always be the one that got away and his biggest love, she was like kryptonite to him; his weakness that could cause pain, but pain is love....

@er0607 Yes - their relationship didn't end because of this , but to be with Clark Lana had to be equal to him.Lana - said " Now we can be together" after she had absorbed a kryptonite.We can see that their love wasn't as strong as Clark & Lois one which overcamed all problems.Lois didn't have to be like Clark - a superwoman to be with him.Her humanity was his strenght what we saw many times from Seasons 4-10.Lois always knew Clark better than anyone else.

Their relationship in season 7 didn't work because of 2 reasons (1) She was focused on getting revenge on Lex and (2) Lex forced her to break up with Clark over the video. In season 8 they got back together but couldn't be together because Lana had to absorb kryptonite from the bomb and that was the only way Lana could make way for Clois. Because smallville was based on the life of superman it was destiny for lois to be with Clark but in smallville reality Clark would always pick Lana.

@er0607 I would add the third reason: Clark wasn't enough for Lana , even after she knew everything about him.She said that she loved Bizarro more which wasn't Clark - she didn't recognise that after a few months of sleeping with him.So through entire Season 7 Clark & Lana had a big problems to live and be happy together.There were so many awkward scenes between them.The writers wanted to say that in Smallville reality Clana is also a doomed relationship with the lack of trust and love.

CLANA 4 life, the drama is what made it interseting; lois was funny but lana was clarks true love and will always be. If they had met when they were both mature and lana never met lex (who corrupted her mentally and physically) they may well have got married

I don't mind Lana but the way she whispers practically everything gets a bit annoying.I always thought Lois had more personality than Lana and Lois was the only character that actually made me laugh(apart from Oliver at the odd time).As for what ship I am on,as long as I get to stare at Tom Welling I don't mind,but if I had to chose it would be Clois hands down.Too much drama in Clana.

Lana had told Clark she would call off the wedding but instead he watched her marry Lex. Not too long afterwards, Lana left Lex and faked her death. Lex found her hiding in China and said she could come back to Smallville and he wouldn't bother her anymore. She came back and got back together with Clark.

Actually I believe you should not have to sacrifice yourself and your beliefs for love. Or else you will resent that person forever, constantly bringing up how you give up this and that for them. Real love should just be a completion of each other. Sacrificed love only works in fiction. Where you do not see 10 years down the road how that sacrifice affected the relationship.

Both proposals were very romantic and special. But I have to admit that I loved the roses floating down from the sky on a beautiful night Metropolis than the cold fortress. The roses were what really got to me. I'm a big fan of roses and rose petals themselves, and that is what made Clark and Lois' proposal much better. I love how Clark tries and tries to get his plan across, but she keeps on saying and wanting to do different. He doesn't give up; he comes up with a new plan and he finally asks

While both proposals are gorgeous, I have to say I like the Clois one better. I never liked that Clark proposed to Lana right after telling her the truth and really I always felt that he proposed to Lana to keep her because they were having so many problems. Whereas, I felt the opposite with Lois. Clark proposed to her because she knew him and still loved him and had proved it.

clark seemed like a boy who was scared in the clana proposal whereas with lois he is a grown man who seems strong and confident ....also the episode before reckoning showed lana and lex hugging so that is what led him to propose? there was no build up and it seemed as if he asked her because he felt he was going to lose her to lex.

He asked lois because she is "so lois" "the love of his Life" " the only one ever who made him feel normal" he also proposed lois at their phonebooth, something which meant a lot for both, the FoS meant nothing for clana

@tunapup1 Okay, fair enough. But I think it's important to take into account what prompted Clark to propose both times. With Lois he wasn't pressured into it because he felt like he was losing her, or because she was getting chummy with Lex. He just did it because he wanted to. He even asked her father for his blessing. With Lana he just wasn't thinking, which was a habit for him back in those days. Point is Clark is a different person now. Mature, confident and not afraid of the future.

Sorry 2 dissapoint all you Lois fan but you gotta admit clana gets ecerythig better whether you like it or not wen clans was on set Clarke felt more u know into the make outs but with Lois it all acting and fake it looks like he been forced to kiss a frog & he is waiting for his princess which is clana even though some may not like her . The show had more viewers when she was on set

CLANA is by all the best and the most epic ever! it is because of the uncertainty of where things that would lead them is what made the porposal the best! it was the only cetainty to both of them! their love to one another! besides Clark always feared that Lana wont accept him for who he is, so to actually say yes after all the things that they went through was like a dream come true to him! Clark was bare to Lana, he was showing her BOTH of his eogs, the Alien and the human! absolute beauty!

I 'm pro Clois! But it depends on what point evalue: 1) About couple : Clois is better .. (Lois is Clark's true love but have not treated so well in some seasons (8 season).. 2) in terms of acting .. I think it's best Clana. Of Clois is more rigid. The last kiss and hug don't see. 3) In terms of scene and shooting .. are equal. I think Lana has more Kal - El ... and Clois is more Clark.
