This is actually a real competitive match, not an exhibition match. I watched it live. The reason why they decided to just stuff around with this last point was because the guy in red (Wang Li Ching) had such a lead over the guy in blue (Ma Lin) that there was absolutely no chance of winning for the guy in blue. In other words, he gave up.

Even though it's probably been said before, this was a real competition match between two top competitors. The guy in red had built up an overwhelming lead, so they decided to show off rather than play the point seriously. At no point did they break any rules.
