I LOVE THAT SEEM LESS PANNING BACK AND FORTH @1:23..
i AM NOT A DIRECTOR. However, for this scene they could have used 2 cameras
+ Editing later on to make a much more smoother scene.. For a moment there, i thought i was watching an old Chinese flick where they used ONE CAMERA TO SHOOT EVERYTHING, Instead of multiple cameras...
Kate est très talentueux, qui sait comment travailler sur son rôle, étonnant et tellement chatouilleux chaque agissant elle le fait, très réaliste et naturelle
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Kate Winslet has a curious penchant for acting in films which include all forms of irreverence, female rancor, and irreligion....In these roles she has f-d her cousin, cheated on her husband (countless times), fraternized with child molesters, and self-induced abortion. Only fond of her in Eternal Sunshine, Sense and Sensibility, and of course, Titanic.....
"Nothing is left of me each time i see her..." wow guys this movie is not to be seen BUT to be heard....yes Hardy could have written such expressions....Erich Seagal is a match "Love Story"...
Smoking tobacco was introduced to Queen Elizabeth the first by Sir Walter Raleigh. Since then people have been using it. That was when it was introduced in England though which is where this film is based. The Native Americans in North America had smoked it for spiritual and ceremonial reasons for a long time.
Hang on. Is that supposed to be Catullus 51? Ille mi par esse deo videtur? What she said: 'Hominus similis deus quis cedit ad latum' doesn't make grammatical sense to me at all. Am I going mad? Is this another poem altogether? Someone help!!
Yes it is Catullus 51 translated by Peter Whigham (1966). But what she says in what supposedly is Latin, is utterly incorrect(For instance: it's not hominus but homo). I think the script writers had the English version and just made a feeble attempt at rendering it in Latin.
Nice one. I thought it was odd how they used 'quis' - instead of the relative 'qui', (or how she didn't read Catullus' Latin at all!) It's not weird medieval Latin, is it?
Hi, I found this CD in a store in Bangkok Thailand and believe me this is my most favorite movie. It is a wonderful adaptation and like the book is a perfect indictment of religion and how appetites ruin noble ambitions
This is the summary from the imdb site. (I'm not good at writing them lol):
A stonemason (Eccleston) and his cousin (Winslet) fall in love. However their love is troubled as he is married to a woman who tricks him into marriage and she is married to a nobleman. They eventually get together. But, living out of wedlock, the two are rejected by the townspeople, leaving them to struggle in abject poverty.
This is my favorite, FAVORITE film of both Kate Winslet and Christopher Eccleston. Both are marvelous. The score is amazing and unforgettable. I wish this film was better known and appreciated.
In some ways, I still believe this performance is the best of Kate's career, even though she wasn't nominated for anything and hardly anyone ever mentions it.
This is one of my favourite films ever, kate looked so beautiful, so clever, She is no doubt, one of the most successful actresses in the whole world!
@albertharsh I agree 100% albertharsh. I've followed Kate's career since Heavenly Creatures and she is incredible. Already a legend at such a young age. We'll be talking about the greatness of Kate Winslet for so many years to come :)
Oh, thank you so much for posting this! I love Kate, she's such a good actress. I've always wanted to see this film. Do you think you could post more clips?
And then Jude gets into Christminster, Jude's first wife dies, they get married and live happily ever after! (that's how the story goes, right?)
