  • Can pva glue be used instead??, p.s very cool video thanks 8o)

  • I've seen a couple of videos with people using Golden Fluid Matte Medium. This seems a lot easier as you only have to wait 3 mins. and then you can peel the paper off. Any thoughts?

  • Depending on the size of your paper, you can take an empty paper towel roll, wrap your photo around it and then slowly roll it out onto the canvas/board. This minimizes air bubbles.

  • Love your tutorial! I'm curious to know, if you painted the canvas in a acrylic paint first to add color (I'm not filling the whole canvas with picture) will it still transfer onto the acrylic? Will the gel make the acrylic come off?

  • very nice video but wow you sound so out of breath and its very distracting! :(

  • If you have a large area to photo transfer, it's a good idea to use a cloth of some sort and dip it in water occassionally. I had to do this once and my fingers were burning after :P

  • Could this be used for pen or other non photo pictures that you wanted to transfer?

  • Hi. Help! I used this technique but when I rubbed the paper off, a lot of the picture rubbed off in bits and pieces too. What did I do wrong?

  • @Gleeekin part of the pic is going to come off but if a lot of it is then I would say that it didn't dry long enough

  • @margohay it should dry for how long? thank you

  • Trying this today =) Can't wait to see the results =)

  • Wonderful video! Thank you so much!! You are wonderful! :)

  • what kind of medium do you use where can i get the materials at?

  • Hi!

This video is so incredibly helpful. I am planning to do this for my brothers wedding gift with a collage of pictures of his children on it. I was just wondering about one step... after you say to let it set for ten hours you skip to a canvas that you had already start rubbing with water. So I was just wondering if after the ten hours did you peel off the paper and then start rubbing? Or did the copy paper dissolve completely and then you rubbed it off?

Thank you! I hope you get this! :)

  • a really quick gift, you only need like 48 hours. hahaha. good video.

  • This was a VERY nice video - nice and slow, loud enough to actually hear you, and gave the product name. I really enjoyed watching it and am encouraged to create this project for my daughter. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your creative knowledge.

  • Using a wet sponge to remove the paper really helps, it makes it a lot quicker.

  • @NatalieBramasole Natalie I am glad I was able to help out with more info. Gesso is a media you as a base for so many different projects and its great to use if you want to cover something up and start again, you can get it in white, black, and grey. Any art store will carry it.

  • Very cool technique! And cute kids!

  • @BlackSunJamie they are cute aren't they :) Thanks

  • So glad to see you do this!! I love gel transfers, so true about rubbing forever lol! Great job Margo! I actually like the imperfect canvas, hehe. And yes, those are the sweetest kids ever! :)

    Much Love

  • @JournalArtista I agree I kept that one for myself I think those of us who play in art never really find something as being not usable do we :)

  • Margo thanks for sharing this technique. Do you know if a printer (used with a computer) is toner based?

  • @tammyozuna if it is an ink jet printer then no it isn't a toner base. Most of us have ink jets now a days.

  • I love what you did...

I have a question, is there anyway that after the paper has fully dried and having to rub off the paper with the water can erase the image transfered? I'm curious if too much rubbing may cause that?

  • @pickkabooo if you rub super hard it will rub some of the image off but basically no the rubbing doesn't take it off.

  • Awesome! Loved the technique. Great picture of the kids.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • love this project! tfs.
