  • The title is rarely understood today. The term "Irish Confetti" referred to bricks thrown through glass windows. The Irish were stereotyped as drunk hooligans in those days. You notice the first strain has those held accented notes, which are meant to represent the smashing window.

    Even so, the melody is sad. Rather does it express "laziness" and "spiritless"? It is mysterious.
