  • My ex girlfriend introduced me to these short cartoons.... i thank God for that these things are epic !

  • 94 people failed the Interigation

  • No monkey? Thank heavens...

  • for everyone saying it's from Army of Darkness, take notice:

    (youtube dot com slash) watch?v=ox1A6CUW4W0

    1. the audio doesn't match up

    2. AoD pronounces the last word "nik-too", not "nik-toe"

    3. most of the time Ash can't even REMEMBER the last word.

    so, there's that.

(in other words, the audio's from the 1950's classic Day the Earth Stood Still)

  • I looked through all the comments and am surprised to find that no one knows that when he says "I stick my neck out for nobody", that part is from the movie Casablanca.

  • Casablanca! I own that movie, "I stick my neck out for nobody!"

  • Like the energy in the line work. Cool Animation!

  • I've seen this video about 50 times over the past few years. Its truly memorable and still enjoyable in the long run.

  • yes

  • Well the sample is'nt from there but thats what came to mind,

  • C'mon It's from "Army of Darkness" !!! when he picks up the Necronomicon he's supposed to say that but messes it up...

  • Orginally, as I'm sure you've probably been told before, the phrase comes from the original 'The Day The Earth Stood Still' also, the Necronomicon originates from H.P. Lovecraft.

    I am such a dork.

  • @EvilSkeltos LOVE that part!!!!!

  • OMG! I've memorised that from childhood just incase I ever meet alien robots.

  • i had to look it up,but now i think i get it

    Klaatu barada nikto

  • all you people who say you get it are lying!

  • it's a phrase from When the Earth stood stiil

  • Yes, I know that! and the second sound bite is from Casablanca. But what was Graham Annable trying to say by animating and combining the two?

  • huh i dont understand

  • me either

  • ive heard this somewhere before......

  • i get it !

  • 1+1=2 :-)

  • Thats the quote from the old 1950's film the day the earth stood still.

  • i dint get it

  • ♥♥♥♥♥

  • ooooohhhhho fuck i just laf my ass and i fall from the chear wenn i sah this this is awsome XD XD XD XD XD XD ^5/5

  • What

    The

    Fuck

  • freaking great.

  • lmao

  • ok everybody, "klaatu barada nikto" is originally a line spoken by an alien in "the day the earth stood still, to his robot, named Klaatu. The sample used in this grickle video is the same line, but taken from "Evil Dead: Army of Darkness" the line spoken by the prisoner in this video is a line from Humphrey Bogart, in the movie Casablanca.

  • the aliens name was klaatu, the robots name was Gort

  • ty merton, it has been a while

  • rofl

  • beautiful!

    D Sterlin

  • Klatu Brarata Nikto its from that old 50's sci-fimovie called the day the earth stood still, its not that bad actully.

  • No, the sample used here is from Army of Darkness (Evil Dead III, 1992).

  • Graham (you know, the creator of this short animated movie) knows he used a sample from Army of Darkness (1992), and it is clearly the voice of Bruce Campbell. That you're not able to hear this is not my problem. You can't even spell right. Consider going back to school, kid.

  • @Meowbay That's not the voice of Bruce Campbell. The only time he says the words he's either angry, or he says them wrong. This is not the case with the sound clip. That clip comes from another source.

  • @Megido See the movie again, carefully listen. You'll find that you are wrong. He does say the words in complete form too.

  • @Meowbay No, this sound clip is from The Day the Earth Stood Still, which is where the line, "Klaatu barada nikto", is originally from. Listen for yourself; Google "the day the earth stood still sound clips" and choose the second website listed. It should be Classic Movie Sound Files. Then click on, "Klaatu Barada Nikto". You'll hear that is the clip used.

  • @Megido It could be the voice of the guy who tells it to Bruce though, idk

  • @Rangasoup It's not. It's from The Day the Earth Stood Still. Google "the day the earth stood still sound clips" and go to "Classic Movie Sound Files - The Day the Earth Stood Still". It's on there.

  • nobody is disagreeing with him...

but everyone else here wants you to stop telling this crap!

  • oops, i don't wanted that comment to go here, it should be a response to

supersayintrunks's second post, see the previous comment

  • I like cheese, but... I'm lactose intolerant.

  • "Klaatu barada nikto" originates from the Cold War-era science fiction film The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951).

  • Yes, everybody knows. The sample used here however is taken from Army of Darkness.

  • Specialy for all. I saw that The Day the Earth Stood Still. And "Klaatu barada nikto" what used here said Klaatu when he go to his spaceship with Helen by taxi.

If you will hear that phrase again you will hear car horn before.

Phrase from second hero comes from Army of Darkness (IMHO).

  • The second voice is Humphrey Bogart (probably from "Cassablanca"), and definately not Bruce Campbell.

  • Yeah, it's certainly not Bruce Campbell

  • @hermadur Ah, that helps. Didn't even know how to spell it so can't Google.

  • well, he doesn't stick his neck out for nobody, but what in the HELL is the interrogater saying???

  • its the combination of words ash needs to use in the army of darkness which is the third movie in the evil dead series

  • huh?

oh okay evil dead series. I'll have to look it up.

  • which proggramme is it? :(

  • what he says?

  • lol i get it its from the day the earth stood still. very old

  • We who get this are either too old or saw too many movies in black and white.

"Klatu Barada Nictu" is from "The Day the Earth Stood Still" it has been used in other movies since then since it is a cult favorite.

The other part sounds like Humphrey Bogart from some detective movie from the 30s, 40s or 50s.

  • casablanca, i think. its been 8 years since ive seen it though (my family watched it the day before new years in 1999, thats how i remember that lol)

  • I don't get it either lol

  • dun. dun. dun...........!

  • okay....

  • Your animations are awesome!!! The vid is funny, too. =]

  • Wow i never thougth i would see someone use a line from Army of darkness and Casablanca in the same clip. now i have seen everything.

  • The line is not from Army of Darkness.

  • the interrogater's line is.

  • look below- its from the day the earth stood still-watch out for GORT

  • Haha... 283 days of interrogation... and both speaks different languages. One speaks alien language and one speaks a sentence from the movie "Casablanca"... I love this clip!

  • i dont get it.... : /..... wtf does it mean?!?

  • It means that after 283 days of interrogation, both dont understand each other.

  • ooooooh. i see. thx. i get it now.

  • its from the famous movie the day the earth stood still

  • ok.. maybe thats why i dont get it... never seen that movie...

  • The interrogator is saying, "Klaatu barada nikto". It's a line spoken by the alien in the 1951 movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still". A remake is being released late next year.

The prisoner's voice is Humphrey Bogart's, but I don't know what movie it's from

  • It's from Casablanca.

  • AAAHHHH!!! ok people you can spam me!!! my comments won't show up as replys...sorry...:)P

  • what the

  • ...Madness.

  • As others have said, he's saying "Klaatu barada nikto," which is originally from the movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still." It's also in Army of Darkness and other things but those were allusions to Day the Earth Stood Still.

  • I'm French... So, is there someone nice to give a traduction please ? ^^'... I don't understand nothing... Thanks !

  • Veuillez excuser mon français. Les mots ne semblent aucun raisonnable son à partir d'un film très vieux que personne a compris. Votre bienvenu = P

  • yeah man you are right, i remember now

  • wow, that brought back memories

  • :))

  • lol! i feel sorry for the suspect

  • i don't get it

    will someone explain it

  • Just to let everyone know - it's not audio taken from Bruce Campbell (Army of Darkness) it is actually from "The Day the Earth Stood Still" a sci-fi movie from the 50's. It is what an alien man tells his robot Gort to keep him from destroying the earth.

  • Did I happen to hear Bruce Campell?

  • I heard it to

"Clato Verita... Ne *cough**cough*" "OK then, that's it!"

    Haha

  • *Book eats his face*

That was the best movie ever.

  • I love these animations, I dont think that they all make, or have to make sense, I think they portray emotions, states of mid, a certain feel or mood, its hard to explain, but these do a wonderful job.

  • hahaha

    haleer_you@y.c

  • i don't really get it

  • I don't get it

  • omg ive watched that movie its so funny

  • don't get the ideea...

  • i don't get it..

  • BRUCE!!! Love his voice! :D

  • wow, i heard him say that once, and knew where it was from. so funny people keep telling other people that the more recent movie that used this phrase is the original, rather than the one from 50 years ago. oh well. yes, the day the earth stood still. its even a book, if you can read.

  • klaatu, barada... nikto... those are anmes of characters from jabbas palace... which were probably stolen from the day the earth stood still...

  • WRONG! Evil Dead.

  • Wow. You might be right. Klaatu, Barada, and Nikto might be characters in Jabbas palace in Return of the Jedi.

But if you are right, then Lucas got them from The Day the Earth Stood Still, the same as Sam Ramii (who used them in Evil Dead, where the audio is from).

    - TAE

  • LOL thats was sooo funny..... If i had gotten it.....

  • Army of darkness!!! Outstanding!

  • WRONG! Evil Dead.... You are correct on one level, but that particular sound byte comes from evil dead.

  • The audio file sounds like the end of "Applebite" by Soundgarden. Backward sampled Piano?

  • aw cheese i dont get it

  • Klaatu Berata Nikto

    "Behave or be destroyed"

Watch "The Day the Earth Stood Still", people

  • Not quiiiiite. Gort. (Name of alien Klaatu's bigass robot) Klaatu (name of alien played by Michael Rennie) borada - kill, destroy, exterminate nikto. - negative, not, DO NOT. Or, "Gort? Klaatu says don't kill us. (Okaay??)" But that isn't Grickle's point. The non sequitur of the repeated line, combined with the Bogart response... (sigh) Yeah, go watch a Family Guy clip. This... (**passes flattened hand above head with a whooshing sound**) ...nesty pass? ;)
  • Nesty pass? I was just saying what I was told that meant (yeah it was wrong). Even so, all I was saying was "Klaatu barada nikto" is from The Day the Earth Stood Still. Well, save for the Keanu Reeves version, perhaps..

But you really didn't have to explain this to me. I GOT IT.

  • that verada nictum is from army of darkness LOL

  • 1st. great clip, 5 stars

2nd. to those who don´t get it, don´t think that complicating

3rd. domschaaf, wtf is wrong with you? you said that before and guess what? nobody cares. just don´t watch it and go for some family guy videos. there you can laugh till you wet your pants! and please in gods name, never ever watch a David Firth movie. it possibly kills your sensitive mind.

  • Huzzah! I'd know Bogart's voice anywhere. Nice one!

  • that's brilliant

  • LOL ... really funny. That's gotta be from The Day The Earth Stood Still... and Bogart of course.

The crispness of the voices are a great contrast to the starkness...

  • You have a real talent for making shorts that are creepy and memorable. I can't claim that I fully get this one, but I can't stop watching either!

  • i don't get it

  • wow they got alot of weir
