Great Video! I came across your video through a link when I was looking at Display Suite in Drupal. I started looking at your video and taking notes because there is just so much good information.
I now have a number of pages with step by step notes I think, could help others follow many of the details in your video.
I would like to know, if I could put the notes on drupal.org and link it to your video somehow. I don't know how about doing it but, let me know what you think of the idea.
@Digitalrecline I was wondering if you had any ideas on what is the best way to link your videos and placing my notes on drupal.org. Any ideas would help
Digitalrecline - again thank you so much. I found the jquery.cycle.all,min.js from a different site and now the slideshow works as intended. Again, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise. I kind of walked away from Drupal because the books weren't really getting it. Your videos rock and following through on my hiccup was beyond the call of duty! Thanks so much.
@jelocifer Glad you got it going :-) Drupals great but a hell of a learning curve at first. Happy to try and help when I can. Cheers for the nice comments.
Digitalrecline - thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I believe I have the libraries module installed (it shows checked in the modules, other 'box') and it resides n sites>all>modules. views slideshow is also in sites>all>modules. I've created a 'libraries' directory at sites>all and created a jquery.cycle directory within libraries then deposited jquery.cycle, all,js there. Again, challenge aside, i have learned so much from your videos. Many, many thanks.
First and foremost, this series has been a drupal learning turbocharger for me. That said, i can't for the life of me get the slideshow to work. Seems that the acquia drupal sets up the sites>all>modules>libraries path directory different from something (Views Slideshow?) that seems to expect to cycle the slideshow using a file in the sites>all>libraries>jquery.cycle directory called jquery.cycle.all.js. I created the path and inserted the file - no luck. Killin' me. Still love the series!
@jelocifer Do you have the libraries module installed or did you just create the folder. The view-slideshow module also needs the Libraries module. 2nd did you place views_slideshow module in sites/all/modules or in the root modules folder?
@jelocifer Also the directory structure should be sites/all/libraries/jquery.cycle/jquery.cucle.all.min.js make sure you have the jquery.cycle folder also. Let me know if that helps.
Thank you for this great help ! There are a lot of drupal tutorial but until now these 3 videos were the best i've seen ! Really looking forward to watching part 4 since that's the theming part I am much interested in. So again thank you and thank you in advance for this 4th part !
Thanks for showing me a practical use of nodequeue - never really had a chance to try what it does. It makes it quicker/easier to add an article to a dynamic area, instead of having to edit the article to enable a checkbox, then having views to show only those.
@kevincarbonaro yeah nodequeque can be very helpful and easy to use. It all really depends on how people want the workflow to go whither I use custom content types, taxonomy, rules, etc to achieve the same result. The beauty of Drupal is there are multiple ways to do many things which make it very flexible but sometimes a little confusing :-).
Great videos. I had the jquery hiccup too which I worked out before I saw it was common in the comments.

This tutorial literally taught me more in 25 minutes than reading a Drupal book did in the last 3 days. You're my saviour.

@lordcyrus Thank you for the kind words. Glad it helped a little.

Is there any difference between using a custom content type of "Trending Topics" versus a custom nodequeue when setting up the views?
