Great voice....wonderful personality. He's missed. He was fun to watch tho. What a great era he was in...I'm glad I was able to enjoy it...even as a kid. This was Dino at his best - smooth, suave, the quintessence of cool. Great song from a great guy. We need someone today who can deliver such style, wit, charm, & class. I'll buy Perry Como, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, & Elvis over anyone today. The closest today to a real singer is Josh Groban, & he lacks the casual style & easy charm to have mass appeal. Dean Martin was one such singer and had so many songs dedicated to this genre, with his absolutely fabulous style and phrasing. A beautiful movie. My mother is Italian and my father Dutch/Irish and I was raised up on my mothers side of the family mostly. It brought back a lot of memories for me and I hope to others just as well. Dean Martin was a great actor and singer just as well.

Dean Martin: a truly loveable, huggable, enjoyable gentleman. I met him once in New York City circa 1970. I was at a restaurant and he and his wife Jeannie walked by. He graciously gave an autograph to me and my husband. We were very young newlyweds and Mr. Martin warmly wished us well. Later that night, my husband and I commented on Dean's speaking voice. Dean wasn't horsing around like on his variety show, so his voice was warm and rich...like homemade lasagna. We miss Dino!

we're white, but we just consider ourselves to be a different subculture. for instance, people in the midwest think fine cheese is velveeta, we like some fine provolone and romano. ive also noticed that our familial unit is much more emphasized than in other nationalities. though this is somewhat less true nowadays, it was more noticeable in the 40s-70s

Hey, Razek44, your dad sounds alot like mine..He would have been 91 also in '07 and was a WW2 vet as well..He looked alot like Dino as well and was born in Western New York, not all that far from Dean as well..My dad hated TV except on Thursday nights when the Dean Martin show was on NBC..we used to watch it together and to this day, I cherish the memory..Thanks for sharing, and sorry for your loss..
