This statement, which is my opinion, which is going to anger pro-lifers and pro-choicers both, but I think that women should be able to have an abortion. However, I think it should be restricted to the 1st trimester when most abortions are done, usually abortions after that emergency abortions due to the woman or fetus being in danger.

Again if you are pro-life or pro-choice and are angered by this statement, this is my opinion and no disrespectful opinions will change my mind.

I am so sorry for Dr Levantino's loss of his daughter, and respect his decision to stop performing abortions. Still, if personal experience is the best teacher, he might have a more nuanced view if he were an E.R. physician when the only legal option for a desperate pregnant girl or woman was self-induced abortion. (I am not referring to abortion that is self-induced by taking a pill.) What if one of those desperate girls had been his daughter? What then?
