  • there is no problem in this video. yes he can b teachin his daughter to take food from a dog and might put her into danger for another dog who wouldnt like it but how do u know if hes allowing his lil girl to approch a stranger (dog) to take his or her food....if he completelly trusts his dog knowing he will not do anything to harm his child then ppl need to get a grip and learn ur facts or learn other ppls loyalty and love towards another being in the family no matter what kind of animal it is.

  • @luram86 if you don't know nothing about dogs, you should not talk about what is dangerous and what is not..

  • I hit the dislike button because this is really dangerous. Telling a kid to take away the dog food while its eating. Crazy

  • so cute, a very well trained dog!

  • great dog you guys have and beautiful baby girl

  • doggie need respect.

  • I have two beautiful GSD's that I have had since they were six weeks old that I trust and love completely. Like the dog in this video my kids could easily take food from their mouth, no problem. However, I wouldn't get my IPhone out and video my kid taking a treat out of either one of my dogs mouths just to prove how loyal they are to our family. It just seems cruel to me.

  • that man is an asshole, he is trying to probe his well trained dog with his child,,,,and he don´t realize that it´s not enough,,,,,,he should be denounced for exposing a child to danger

  • You guys have no right to comment on the parenting. Its obvious none of you are GSD owners. Its a trust thing. The owner has complete trust in his dog and knows for a fact that he wouldn't harm the baby. Mine is the same way. You can take the treat right out of his mouth and get absolutely no negative reaction.

  • @LuckyzeOG It's not so much the dog as it is the kid. Telling the kid to pet a dog on the nose or kiss them is not good to begin with, but to tell them to do that while the dog is eating and also tell them to take the treat is also dangerous. Maybe not with the dog in the video, but what if the kid tries that with another dog that isn't so into being touched when eating or having its food taken away? The kid might get bit. You don't know where the kid will try this learned behavior.

  • If that was my child ill beat his ass down ! Good dog

  • good dog, confused child, bad parenting.

  • She enjoys taking his treat but doesnt enjoys kissing him... :( Poor Bruno...

  • What on earth is wrong with this man?

  • I wuld never tease my dog like that because that just makes me a dick and my german shepherd hates being teased

  • the owner is a dick, tell the kid to take the treat. as i insist there are no bad dogs just bad owners. it maybe starts small and innocent, and then the end we often read as headlines.

  • the baby is smarter than that guy... ...she sees and hears that big animal destroying what appears to be unbreakable for her so no fucking way is she gonna take it away...

  • 1:01 - how long is this gonna go on...?!

  • Poor dog that's very mean

  • Poor dog

  • lol the kid wiped his mouth after kissing the dog!

  • Aww, sweet patient doggie.....

  • You all are stupid I have two gsd's and you are suppose to train your dog to not get aggressive over food. If you did not know that than you didn't train your dog right. I've GSD's all my life, and if you train your dog they don't get aggressive. That's good training.

  • This father is stupid and irresponsible towards his child and the dog.

  • Owww I miss my german sheperd girl....

  • You're lucky to have a dog that well behaved :/ Dont take it for granted

  • I see your video has attracted interesting responses, both for and against such "training" methods. I wish to add to what I said a year ago. There are more ways to show the dog who's the alpha male and taking his food should not be the preferred way. If your dog must obey your every command, i.e. when to wag his tail, when to sleep, when to play, when to eat, etc, etc, then you would have lost your right to call him your best friend because he is but your personal slave dressed like a dog. Rgds

  • the dog is a good dog... the kid is a dick!

  • @KingsknightsAllday the dog is a good dog, the kid well shes just a kid and doesnt know better, a dick like u who call lil kids dicks.... well ur a fucking dick...

  • look at the dog's eyes, the way he longingly looks at his treat.. if only he could talk man's talk, hed probably be saying, hey chuck, care to give me my treat? its bad for u.only good for dogs like me. ;-)

  • Beautiful GSD, well trained with a seemingly excellent temperament. However, as someone who loves, has owned & trained GSDs for obedience trials, this is a really BAD idea!! No matter how well trained or good a temperament it has...ANY dog can have a bad day!! Never tease a dog & leave it alone when it's eating! I dearly love GSDs, they are My breed...I raised my kids with 4 of them. There is a right way & a wrong way! This Dad is playing with fire & it's the child & dog who may pay for it.

  • lol he trusted the dog geese, let the kid mess with his dog a little without makin a federal crime out of it- ron paul 2012

  • why would you tease him like that.

  • should never do that to any dog all he has to do is one bite and the damage is done teasing the poor dog then annoying him when hes eating thats crazy

  • what an idiot father to ask a child to take a dog's treat ...dangerous....

  • o.o that dog is so patient.more than me if u hold food in my face like that just 2 put it in my mouth just 2 take it out.....u just dont do that =.=

  • Poor Brano. xD I bet he'll be thinking along the lines of "I'm getting too old for this shit..." when he's older. (Just watched the video where Ava was doing this when she was younger)

  • @sandstorm0777 Well of course it's not a 'rule' because this is life, not school. Please don't be a dopey bint. The dad no doubt (like most GSD owners) knows that there's a slim chance of her 'turning'. Yes there's always a chance but most people know their dogs well enough to recognise those subtle changes in character. This is what Ceasar does. Funny how he's now a millionaire having sorted many pet owner's problems. Since you're clearly right and he's wrong, please do enlighten us all.

  • Too all of you saying 'ooooooh it's a bad idea touching a dog's food when he's eating!!', we had a GSD when I was under a year old. The actual dog was wanted by police because it was previously handed from drug dealer to drug dealer and was known for being vicious. We (not drug dealers) eventually ended up with her. I used to crawl to her bowl and play with her food as she ate. Never touched me because my parents and I were the pack leaders. Please watch Ceasar Millan and learn.

  • My son is a K9 Officer and he has a shepherd. He said you are asking for trouble by doing this. He said shepherds are known to turn. Any dog would be tempted but that is really pushing it

  • liked the one i saw when she was younger. but now she should know better. of course she is being told contridicting things like give him the treat now take it

  • your baby has extremely curely hair its almost as if shes mixed race lol

  • ok 1st cute video but 2nd why in gods name would you tell your child to give the dog his treat and then while hes munching on it tell your child to take it from him. Seriously this is why so many dogs have food aggresion its either (A) never got food and when they do they get very protective over their food or (B) teaching your kids to take food from the dog while he or she is already eatting it and starts to find over time to be very protective over its food.

  • this vid annoyed the hell out of me, dont have your child tease a dog with his food

  • why would you teach your kid to reach into a dog's mouth?

  • This guy is a poor parent of both children and dogs. I wish the GSD had a better owner. Sad.

  • Who the hell is this Moronic jerk teasing that beautiful creature.WHAT A POOR EXCUSE FOR A MAN.NEVER SEEN ANYTHING THAT DISGUSTING IN MY LIFE

  • the dog cookie sure looks yummy !

  • The parent should be "taking the treat away" If is not safe to use your child as a training tool. Not to cute when the dog bites that baby

  • I disagree with the people saying its wrong to take the dogs food. You are doing the right thing. You are training and showing your dog that you (and your family) have the power over him to decide if and when he eats. Sure its a little mean to tease the dog that many times, but when training my dogs I give them their bowls, wait a few mins, and then take the bowls right out from under them. This continues their whole life. It shows them who the alpha is. Great work. Awesome GSD

  • @Abington586, You are a moron...you know nothing about GSDOGS YOU NEVER DO THIS>>>>I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE THE DOG FROM THOSE PEOPLE AND BITCH SLAP YOU>

  • @bear022013 and why don't you do this mr. expert?

  • @bear022013 Abington586 is right. You have to show dominance with dogs. No matter what. They are pack animals and need to be shown at every opportunity that they are below you. Other wise these people would probably have an unruly GSD that would bite their sweet little baby. The dog gets the treat in the end and is extremely calm the entire time. Job well done.

  • @cvhagar316 You don't have any idea what you're talking about. Do you own a GSD? I own one now, and I have owned them in the past. They will listen without showing them dominance 'no matter what.' If your dog is raised with love, and is trained with positive reinforcement, you will have a great dog. My dog listens like a robot when I ask her the first time.

  • @stingraybch I do have an idea about what I'm talking about. And you know I do. You contradicted yourself in your comment. You can show dominance with love and compassion. These people obviously took the time to train their dog and this is why you see such great results. Training is showing dominance. You show that YOU the human are in control and your dog must obey. And taking food from a dog is recommended. That way they don't have food aggression. I did have a GSD. RIP Anibelle.

  • @bear022013 I agree 100 %. This owner is to dumb to have that beautiful GSD.

  • U shouldn't tell your kid to take food from your dog bro... Dogs are vulnerable of defending their food... But never tease your dog man.

  • cute kids you got

  • i don't think that because a 1 year old girl is more important than the GSD it gives the right to the dad to tease the dog in that way teaching the little girl that she can do whatever she wants with the GSD. no offense but you teach your girl not to respect the dog at all... dogs are not toys for children....

  • It wont be very cute when that dog gets pissed, and bites the kids arm off.

  • Adorable baby. She was testing Dad. Beautiful, exellent natured German Shep.

  • 1 antennaman

I do not wish to disagree with your views. My earlier observations were expressed as a concerned guardian of kids and dogs and were meant well. If you feel that it is OK to teach both child and dog the way you do in regard to discipline, the decision and method is completely yours to choose. Best regards.

  • no offence but your not teaching your daughter very well, she is well behanved and all, but it really isnt a very good to be teaching her to tease the dog, sure maybe once tease it but its not nice to keep doing it, she needs to be taught sharing, which she dosent seem very good at, after she gave the dog the treat she wanted it back which shows bad sharing.

  • @bigdogITbiker

Absolutely. Even the kid knows that it might be dangerous AND wrong to snatch the doggie bone from Ava! It shows in his hesitation as he ponders whether to listen to his dad or to his own instinct. I had a big GSD before and I know. True, GSDs are great guard dogs and companion with kids and adults, but there must always be a line drawn that must never be crossed. Rgds.

  • your a moron telling a kid that age or any age to mess with a dog with food, go kill yourself

  • Its funny how she wiped her mouth after she kissed him... Shes gonna be prissy when she gets older ;)

  • i think it is wonderful how Brano is sooo patient and gentle with her...he is a blessing.

  • dont tease the dog

someday he wont be so loyal anymore if this continues

  • best dogs

  • "Take it! Take it!" typical americans

  • 0:58 seconds.

    DAM LOOKA DAT DICK!!!!

  • This is excellent training. Your shepherd is absolutely beautiful and has very similar size and markings to our beloved Casey whom we lost years ago. If you could give me information about your dog's breeder, I would really appreciate it.

  • best dogs

  • It isn't ethical to tease dogs.

  • that dog is like "why does this mother fucker have to tease me" hahaha just give me my bone!! cool vid tho

  • people saying 'dont mess with dogs whne they eat' is the reason dogs snap. I take my dogs food and treats away from them when they are in the middle of eating them. My dogs dont snap or bark or act posessive. By letting the dog think its 'their' treat or food... thats when they snap. My dogs know that its not their food, and if someone takes it from them.. they sit pretty or lay down and & thats the way it should be.

  • give me the damn treat!!!!!!!

  • take his treat? absolutely stupid way to treat yr dog

  • haha! I love Brano and Ava's shows. I watched the other video at least 15 times! :D

Ava's really cute and Brano's very well-behaved. It's fun watching them.

  • she is funny

  • all these people with the negative comments obviously know nothing about dogs, nonetheless, german shepherds. i love your videos. they are too cute.

  • you tell her to give the treat then you tell her to take it !?!? what are you trying to teach her?

  • @zednkas You must watch other videos of Brano and Ava to see the reason he is doing this. Ava has this habit of stealing Brano's treats. I guess he wants to train the dog (not the baby) that it is OK if she steal his treats, a safety precaution.

  • man, you speak to your daughter as if she was a dog

  • Your dog so beautiful, and amazingly obedient. Oh, Ava is beautiful too! lol.

  • Even Brano knows you do not eat a kid with messy diapers. hahahaha

  • it was foolish of you too get ur kid too take its treat to me that jsut aksking for it you no what i mean am sure you dident mean it or eany thing like that

  • @bigtimerunescapefan Asking for what? That dog will protect that child with his own life; he's not interested in hurting her.

  • even the baby knows better than to take the treat or kiss the gsd nose

  • 1 year later the dog is still smarter than your kid

  • this is bad example...you do not mess with dogs when they eat...you don't take the food from their face....no matter how trained the dog is you don't mess around after you give them food... not even with a GSD

  • I've had GSD's and have taken food from them without so much as a snarl....Once the dog trusts you and knows you're his provider,he'll protest when you "mess" with his food.....

  • @wh1r61l - actually making the dog give up food is a way to assert dominance. My 3 old feeds our dogs. It proves he is higher in the pecking order than they are. The fact that the girl can do this is a testament to the dogs training, and the fact that GSD's know not to hurt small things.

  • if you train them from puppy-hood that you won't steal their food and they don't have to fight for it, then when the get older they retain that knowledge and can't be less aggressive with their food. My dad did that with our dog, by feeding him from his hand, and now i could take a treat from his mouth hold it in front of him and he wont do anything... i dont TRY it of course but i know its true cuz i have seen my dad do it

  • There's a huge difference between food and treat. Brano can most likely tell the difference because he is well-trained, obviously.

  • And regarding food, you can still take food from the dog if the dog is not respecting you. You shouldn't do it unless it's necessary to show that you're the dominant leader. But you should never have to fear your dog, not even when he's eating.

  • actually it's a good idea to practice your dominance regularly. A submissive dog will always allow you to take whatever you want to. Obviously this dog could be trusted (with adult supervision) to know it's place amung people.

  • @wh1r6h1l people saying 'dont mess with dogs whne they eat' is the reason dogs snap.

  • @wh1r6h1l If you teach the animal early on to not be aggressive when facing someone taking food, they won't BE aggressive. This dog was obviously trained from its puppy years to behave well.

  • @wh1r6h1l Guess you haven't seen The Dog Whisperer.

  • @wh1r6h1l

i cant completely agree with this...i have 2 german shepherd dogs well trained....both will allow my toddlers to take food from their mouths and not even do a thing about it. honestly it really depends on the relationship between your kids and your dogs.

  • @wh1r6h1l I disagree. The dog should know you decide when and if it eats or not. This dog has good self control. My parents dog will growl and get very snappy if you bump him or get too close to him while he's eating. Although repetitively taking and giving too many times is not a good idea.

  • @wh1r6h1l if she knows to only mess with her dog and not any other dog then im sure its fine. do you not seehow well trained this dog is. he wouldn't do anything to hurt her.

  • JohnandCarlag, my compliments on a very well trained dog. He shows an amazing amount of restraint and patience with your child. Hell, I am a human being and if someone took away my food even I wouldn't be so kind. You have a wonderful dog and an adorable kid.

  • Try taking my GSD food away. Ur hand might be his lunch, or his treat for thAt matter hahaha.

  • gencusa24 hahaah no the baby might BE the lunch LOL

  • This dad is teaching Ava the wrong values. How can you, after coaxing ava to give the treat to his dog and then ask Ava to "take it" and then "kiss him on the nose" when the GSD is half way munching his treat. Not good. Not good at all.

  • it's VERY good if the dog is trained, like this one here it shows the kid is more dominant than the dog

  • @brandonyat yeah, this dog one day would snap, if the kid does that, and half the kid's face would, well, you know what I mean.

  • @brandonyat I disagree, what Brown is being shown is dominance, and he in return is showing submission to Ava. A GSD is a different breed, and therefore requires a stronger Alpha figure at all times.

  • Nice video, Brown's a good boy.

  • @brandonyat notice he said "take his treat.." and when she put her hand out to take it he said "no" also pay attention to the next time he told her to take the treat from the dog, she didnt do it. i think he was just trying to teach her not to take it by telling her to take it and then saying no when she reaches for it..

  • @brandonyat Agree, also its very danger disturb the dog while it´s eating or trying to eat. Nobody knows the dog´s reaction. My old female german sheperd used to hate anyone disturbing her while she´s eating her food or cookies.

  • @maulsoleu @maulsoleu

Many still insist that it is the correct thing to do, i.e. take food from their dog whenever they want to. Now let's just say that Ava (and all the little Avas out there) thinks that it is ok to snatch food from a dog, and she takes this "my daddy said it's ok" lesson outside...one day she chances upon a neighbor's GSD who is happily munching on a doggy bone in the garden and she gleefully goes up to the GSD and snatches the bone...go figure that out. I miss my GSD too.

  • Oooooooh maan. If I was that dog I'd be so pissed lol.

  • ok, yeah smart idea dad, tell your kid to take food from the dog half way through eating. this dog shown here is wonderfully gentle and well trained but what happens if your daughter meets a dog that isn't well trained? she will think its ok to take its food. not smart

  • i have a german sheperd crossed with a yorkshire terrier.its like a mini gsd and looks just like them.but if i tried doing that to her she would most likely take my nose off.

  • You really love the dog.

  • if a german sheperd knows the baby as part of the family then it shouldint harm him, in my 22 years my family always had them, only turn bad when there treated badly x

  • danger, playing food dof

  • If you know the temperament of your dog, there's no reason not to do this. I had a German Shepherd for 17 years and you could stick your hand right into his bowl without him so much as growling. My baby cousin used to do this to him all the time, and he would just play along till she gave him the treat. It's not dangerous if you know your dog people. German Shepherds are very good, patient dogs when it comes to kids, especially babies.

  • I agree with aangelangel189. I have a GS who is just over a year old and he was raised and trained with my kids. He is amazing and very patient when it comes to the kids, my daughter even paints his nails and he just sits there loving every bit of the attention. I have had GS before and I just love the breed but you have to be careful to pick a good breeder (that's the same with any dog though).

  • hahah paints his nails!!! thats awesome...I have to agree, I always used to say "you just never know what a dog could do" -- but after raising my GSD from a pup I can categorically say that he would not bite a child under any circumstances. The only time he has and will ever demonstrate aggression is towards anyone coming into the backyard at night, and this is in the form of a bark which is worse than his bite. People do not understand how well you get to know your dog, and y u can trust them

  • This is a cute video and the training you did with Brano was absolutely magnificent. Sucha great and patient dog and theya re really great around young children. So cute. 5 stars.

  • we had a long haired german shepheard for 13 years and she was the most gentle thing ever....except when a strager would walk through the back gate into the backyard without one of us then she'd turn into the guard dog, but she was always a sweetheart with people we'd tell her were ok R.I.P Lady :'(

  • We also had a beautiful long-hair GSD for just over 12 years... Sweet, sweet Zynfyndel... She died on 03/19/09 and I still mourn for her deeply. We miss her each day. She loved kids and most people, but she was a guard dog to the end, even when she couldn't walk by herself anymore... We love her so...

  • :( your doggie died one day after my chihuahua....i miss her so much *crying*

  • I know just how you feel. And I am so sorry for your loss.

  • WFT are you insane

  • wow, he was very patient waiting for his treat. Did you raise Brano since he was a puppy?

  • Do you know what I liked the most about this video? The way Ava looked at you about 0:30, and could tell just by your facial expression (unseen,) that it was time to stop teasing Brano and give him the treat. So many people mix up free will and discipline for children, and the result is anxious parents, irritated storeclerks, broken merchandise, crying playmates, and bewildered children who weren't taught courtesy, compassion, grace and dignity. We all have to be taught before we can learn.

  • I appreciate your acumen.

  • ur so lucky u have a dog. i love g.s because it remids me of beverly hills chihuahua. my parents think dogs stink as in smelly, scary, messy, annoying and naughty. i dont really care because i love dogs.

  • @johnandcarlag this is so wrong what you are teaching, youre lucky you have a good sweet dog, another would have already bite her.

  • woaw...the most handsome GS I've ever seen.

  • This is why I cannot wait to get a German Sheperd...they are so wonderful and patient w/kids. Sooooo cute.

  • wow what training did you do with Brano... you should let us in the detail, as how old is he...

i just saw the last video and its soo cute!

especially how she wiped her mouth after she was done kissing him lol, great videos for her to look at when she gets older!

  • kid why do we have to keep going thru this all i want is my treat

  • it's amazing watch Ava growing and plaing with Brano
