I sat through this movie a few years ago for one reason and one reason only: Don Sullivan. I'd developed a man-crush on him from "Monster o' Piedras Blancas" and wanted to see everything he was in. This was tough going. To any other Don S. fans out there, I recommend "Teenage Zombies." It's light years better than this.
With or without dope this is a beautiful scene. On top of being crippled that poor little girl has a moustache and nobody cares. In the 50's kids actually sat through this stuff without smirking. Really a much better world inside their heads.

This movie was awesome! It was the best hot-rodding-teenage-gang-romeo-and-juliet-sick-little sister-rock-star-wannabe-misunderstood-teen-taking care-of-the-family-after-his-father-died-working-for-the-town grump-oh-yeah-horror-film ever. I love B movies just for this reason. This one ranks at the top! Bonus points for the mushroom song, definitely.
He is terrible at the uke!

I loved that movie as a kid. Creepy song, though.

That's NOT a Gila Monster. It's a Mexican Beaded Lizard.

There was a mushroom
A psychotic mushroom
Who was just living
In a land full of dope
Until he was eaten
By a blithering idiot
Who then thought of writing
A song about him

an interesting thing about this movie is that they used a Mexican beaded lizard to play the part of the Gila Monster

Mark Norton could use that song in one of his furniture store commercials.

I have this movie! it came on the same disc as the original silent version of the lost world. I only watched it once, and that was hard enough.
