Some of my colleagues in the 60s would take the same bus into work as myself, but then they would be flown to a different country for most of the day, before coming back and taking the bus home. OK, it wasn't exactly a secret project, but it certainly demonstrates that some industries do not keep to 'everyday' modes of behaviour.
@scasired You also have to consider that an object that is airborn has no point of refference with which we could determin it's distance, size, or speed. WHat if the object is smaller than you assume it to be? That would mean it is closer than you thought and thus it would have actually been moving slower than you estimated.

Income tax alone is about 20% here and takes a little over $160 out of my pay check every 2 weeks. I spend about $80 on gas over that same time period. If the governments where trying to cover it up they would be getting a cut of that $80 which would probably be at most 25% so about $20 every 2 weeks.
@im1greatman Alternatively the government could build thier own large versions of these generators in each town and increase the tax rate claiming to be paying for maintenance. Since this would mean no more electric bills the people would definately be in favor of having them built. If they managed to raise the income tax to 30% now they would get $240 out of me a month. Some of my colleagues in the 60s would take the same bus into work as myself, but then they would be flown to a different country for most of the day, before coming back and taking the bus home. OK, it wasn't exactly a secret project, but it certainly demonstrates that some industries do not keep to 'everyday' modes of behaviour.

Income tax alone is about 20% here and takes a little over $160 out of my pay check every 2 weeks. I spend about $80 on gas over that same time period. If the governments where trying to cover it up they would be getting a cut of that $80 which would probably be at most 25% so about $20 every 2 weeks.
