I LOVE HTML 5 and I am actually viewing this video in HTML 5!! :D But this IS the first time...I have opted into the HTML 5 trial countless times, and I don't know why I keep having to opt in... • And apple is using this bullcrap?Thats why i will never get an ios device..

  • How is that just about every HTML5 website design company is claiming they can do HTML5 Validation but only html5websitedesign.co.uk can actually pass the HTML5 Validation Markups, It seems to us that there is little point website designers offering to build HTML5 sites if they are not going to pass w3c HTML5 validation.

  • @domainholdings probably because the spec changes a lot and there's no point in updating the validator if HTML5 development is priority.

  • Who is making HTML5? And how the hell can they just make HTML5 compete with a company like Microsoft's Silverlight and Adobe Flash? Will HTML5 run on all mobiles and cross platform? If so, how come all these other companies are struggling with this same kind of challenge, but HTML5 can do it? It's like everyone is saying HTML5 will solve all my problems, but if so who is driving it and what kind of financial means do they have to do this?

  • @SequelFinalNight HTML5 used to be Apple's webkit.

  • i'm at google's developers program " so shut up , set tight , i hear me out 42 minutes"

  • @daylightdisk

HTML5 is so buggy I can barely click your 25:23 and go to it.

  • @ROBLOXingHabbo /Implementations/ of HTML5 can be buggy, but HTML5 is not itself buggy in the same respects.

  • @ROBLOXingHabbo HTML5 is buggy?!?

Nothing compared to flash, I've just switched to HTML5 trial for youtube, if only every video was in this format.

  • @daylightdisk what do u mean inner pirate?

  • @webmastertool he says arrr like, well, a pirate ;)

  • @daylightdisk oh i thought you meant he was using like a pirated version of photoshop on a google presentation lulz.

BIG BIG HELP HERE!!!!! my deadline is coming...

  • Nice, comprehensive and concise ;-)

  • Good Job. Love the HTML5 tutorial. Thought your Robot Chicken work was better though. :-)

  • 100 - 'X' improvement !!

  • How to you handle the problem of someone using a video tag to display your video on their web site. Because video streaming can costs some money because it's data intensive. Then they can like use your video without permission and load your server and you don't get anything out of it.

  • What's the difference between the "OnMouseover" playing video in HTML 5 and the one in Bing Video results?

  • I like this video.

  • This video is useful for html 5 knowledge.

  • Thank you for info about html5

  • very very nice thanks alot

  • Your information is very useful

  • Thank you for sharing.

  • Awsome demo, very neat and consice. thanks dude.

  • Your voice is mad soothing dude. You've got to write a self-help book and then do the audio book for it.

  • i like how even though he works for google, he uses firefox

  • Love the Ant video downloader. This is a keeper. Probably going to watch this two or three times. I wish they taught me this in college, I took a web dev course and learned ten times more about Java than JavaScript. >.<

College is a joke people, best to learn it here. For the web, by the web is the one and only way. : )

  • @truthIsStranger In college they usually focus on things that teach theory so you have a "core" understanding of the science behind it. Videos like these are besically summaries and tocuh the surface of the topic without going into the underlying principles of programming and CS. They are normally made for ppl who are already experienced developers.

  • @truthIsStranger Oh, and also, this looks all easy and simple when it's presented and it actually works. But in the real world, things are more complicated nad never perfect. Therefore when you try to debug and solve the problem or come up with a complex solution, THAT is when the stuff you learned in college will help. That's why it's hard to get a decent dev job without a degree.

  • @rasmasyean

    Nice perspective, thanks.

  • Thanks for sharing!, Its really nice one!

I just found one HTML5 website which have a lost of HTML5 website list, a nice blog about HTML5 do check - html5arena

  • The future of the web is beautiful!

  • Google, huh. Higher quality video on vimeo?

  • Has the javascript shim that enables html5 features been altered for IE9? its probably not needed anymore, unless it been changed to enable the few remaining html5 features not supported. If there is no change, how would you alter the javascript to detect an older version of IE than 9? Or perhaps detect if it not IE9? Whatever will process faster.

  • Excellent lecture

  • Chrome is like a turd that wont flush.

  • @DragonAge2k because firefox 3.6 and internet explorer 8 doesn't know the html elements.

    only firefox knows some elements.

but now IE9 and FF4 you can play video tags.

  • dang i hope it html5 will take over flash soon, youtube lags like a bitch on my ie9 x64, only wiith flash, and EVEN WITH NON_HD 0.o

  • @Phenom69ll You can watch html5 videos on youtube, search html5 youtube, and join the beta.

  • @laifalbert ikr but i mean like tottally take over :P so even arm6 cpu based phones could do well on the webloooo l :D

  • @laifalbert IKnow... but not all of em :(

  • @laifalbert Unfortunately, it never works. No videos play and youtube layout gets fucked up. They need to get their act together.

  • @sindbad1900 It works for me, it's probably your browser having bad support for webM. Try chrome, it's fast, secure, and works like a charm for html5. It is a beta though, and things look rough, and starting the video takes some time.

  • @laifalbert I *am* using Chrome. I've also tried in firefox, similar results.

  • @sindbad1900 Really? I'm watching this very video in html5, and have watched videos at 1080p perfectly fine.

  • THe SVG logo example clarified nothing for me. How was that image created with HTML?

  • @DragonAge2k youtube . com/html set it here

  • Good job learnt a lot, atleast to get me started

  • @DragonAge2k It isn't! Youtube by default is NOT HTML 5 ready, but you can suscribe to the beta version using HTML5 somewhere from your account details to help youtube test html5 compatibility. Only then you would see the videos without flash player.

  • ahhh no download?

  • ДАААА!!

  • chuck norris`s age is the highest prime number....html5 fails

  • google could have given you a real mic and cam... wow

  • @glitzandmalt if you dont like it , dont watch it !!! . I can hear him perfectly as im sure you can aswell

  • @glitzandmalt that is the mic i have and it is very good.

  • Very informative. I learned a lot about capabilities in html 5 that I didn't know existed.

  • excellent video!

  • My question so far is what HTML5 and HTML4 is different?

  • Really excellent and highly informative video for starters.

  • NICCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Nice video! But there is a problem, I can see a dislike button, plz fix.

  • 23:20

How do you tilt the video like that? Or what's the code for those buttons on the bottom?

  • Watching this in html5

  • Why he don't use chrome?

  • It will really push HTML5 if YouTube and Facebook drop the support of Flash and go 100% with HTML5. Everybody needs to see youtube. So it forces everything to switch over to the newer browsers.

  • where is IE in the graph? Don't tell me IE has no place in there

  • @Bossiiiii That's because it's shit, duh

  • i liked the video and examples.

  • Quite comprehensive and well done. I guess it's a tad long for one clip and should probably be split into parts. Great material, thank you.

  • Last time I checked Safari was not open source and IE (which is still the de facto standard web browser in the World) was not mentioned very often with HTML5 compatibility.

  • Excellent introduction to HTML5. Very well done!

  • Very nice presentation. Clear, good examples and friendly.

  • Thank you for this video

  • Thanks for sharing! Great information!

  • DID YOU KNOW the "contenteditable" ATTRIBUTE

  • One of the best tech videos I've ever seen. Great explanations and examples. I wish every tutorial video could be this complete!

  • @DragonAge2k Yep, if you try to save a video YouTube Rick Rolls you! Awesome!

  • works with chrome not with ie9

  • great video very helpfull

  • cant wait to see all this in action everywhere..

  • wow, thats awsomeeeeeeee

  • I don't know if this new player changed over a couple of weeks, but when I had the unpleasant experience of using it it buffered slow as hell, I couldn't pause the vid and I couldn't select a certain point in the video I wanted to watch.

  • HOLY SHIT, NO BUFFERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • one of the best tech speakers I have ever seen

  • oop i guess we cant watch videos from a google video player either lol i thought he works for google guess they are still not using html5's video tag seems to me that html5 wont replace adobe flash player

  • hey whats up users since you cant view this without adobe flash player 10 I would say he is full of shit youtube is not using the html5 video tag uninstall your adobe flash player and see for yourself

  • i'm watching this on html5 right now

  • Would be really helpful if you had a table of contents/overview and associated min/sec into this movie (given how long it is).

Also, can html 5 players have markers and interactivity - that if I wanted to click on an option in the contents at the start, it can jump to that marker in the film?

    Just wondering that's all...

  • Visit: minichan.org - The best site on the Internet!

  • Speaker is extremely condescending, but the presentation has a lot of good content.

  • WTF are these random images in half color from 1:29

  • works with html5 using Chromium browser, Ubuntu server w/ gnome-core

  • in HTML5 right click the video and click Save Video As.

  • i tried this in html 5 and would not load

  • Ditch the javascript, and html5 will be worth something. With JS it's just piece of scripting, not typed, one-hell-to-debug crap.

  • there is just the voice...it makes faster too...

  • Google's Chrome and Firefox have done a great job on HTML5 and speed. HTML5 is the future, and even IE9 is doing great on it.

  • who watch this in youtube's HTML5 video viewer

  • In my experience, flash is a horrible platform for video. The seek function in the player fails miserably about 50% of the time.
